Dafoe won't get it! He already played the Green Goblin. Although he would have been good as The Joker.

Just hop on the Tim Roth band wagon.

If you're steering the wagon, no way am I getting on it.

I'm on the fence on Joker. I'd prefer Hulme, but I can live with anyone as long as they have the look and a good laugh.

Give me Crispin Glover for The Joker ANYTIME! He practically is the character in essence (if not appearance).

By the way, Willem Dafoe would've made an ideal Joker in the Tim Burton version back in the day if not for Jack Nicholson...

Someone said something about Joker being taller than Batman???

Batman's hunched over....Joker's standing almost upright and Batman's STILL a couple inches taller than Joker.

to me, it makes no difference. Joker can still play his "tricks" to throw-off Batman and Batman can still kick his ass.

Even if one was a dwarf and the other was almost 6' 8"

Like I said. Size doesn't matter!

Even if Hulme was Joker, he's a few inches taller than Bale. But with the boots and cowl, Batman would look taller than him.

In my Batman: The Ultimate Guide to the Dark Knight, it says Joker is 6' 5"

Nolan doesn't have to get everything on the money.

This is ridiculous that people are just judging because of his height. Hulm has way more against him! Roth is a little short, so what!

Scarecrow in the comics is at least 6 feet tall...

...Cillian Murphy is 5'8 or 5'9....just 1 or 2 inches taller than Roth, but you people worried about height aren't complaining about how Cillian is 3 or 4 inches shorter than his comic counterpart.

Like I said...if someone can find a drawing of the Joker showing that he's taller than Batman, then that argument will have SOME water.....but until then...it's a dumb argument.

I think David Walliams would be a great Joker. UK Hypers will know who I mean.
Here's some Pics from Little Britain.:

The "Lady" on the right.

Dafoe would be awesome. But I highly doubt it'd happen since he was Green Goblin.

Dafoe could have been great,..I wish he was just younger. He has the smile naturally. And he kicked @$$ as :gg:.

I just thought of a really good actor to play the Joker. IMO Denis Leary could play the part perfectly...we all know that he can play "evil" (ever seen "Judgment Night"?) and his humor is sick & demented enough to possibly fit with the Joker's persona, plus I think he looks the part. To those that think that he is too old, I'll make 2 points...He doesn't really look as old as he is (he's 47 and looks to be in his late 30's - Bale is 31) and secondly, who ever said that Batman's foes have to be his own age? I mean most of us agree that Jack Nicholson as Joker was the "definitive" Batman villian and he was about 15 yrs. or so older than Keaton. Anyway, it's just a thought...what does everyone else think?

Good call, triad. I think Denis Leary would make a SICK Joker....but I don't think Christopher Nolan is gonna wanna work with him. Besides...if Denis Leary played Joker, he'd act too much like Denis Leary and not enough like Joker. I still think it'd be interesting to see though...

Just curious, Why don't you think that Nolan would want to work with him? Is he supposed to be one of those "difficult actors"? And on the statement that he would end up acting too much like himself, I really don't get that. Isn't that what "acting" is all about...being someone else? Please don't get me wrong, I'm not one of the rabid-fanboys that will only accecpt his own actor in a given role - I just wanted to be clear on why you feel that way. It was only a suggestion, afterall. I agree with ya that it would be interesting to see.

Vince Vaughn - Why not? He's skinny and he played Norman Bates in Psycho (1998). I'll try and get a picture from the end of Psycho where he's staring smiling right at the camera.

I see Vince Vaughn more as maybe Two-Face (although my 1st choice still is Guy Pearce), but you're right, he could pull it off I think.

Its either Tim Roth or Jude Law for ME.

Lachy Hulme is too much of a gamble for me to risk on the best villain of them all! I dont care if he looks the part.....im counting on performance. Anyone can look like the Joker with some work done by the make-up department lol. Hulme isnt the best choice IMO.

I would say Crispin Glover, but i think i would be too wierded out to enjoy his Joker lol, i know that sounds stupid....but it wouldnt be bad if he was casted though.

But it's Tim Roth or Jude Law for me...........i hope one of them gets casted

Jude Law is a great actor. He did a creepy character in Road to Perdition. He does look cool with the Joker gear on.....but i also believe he could give a heck of a performance. Same goes for Roth.
