I would almost suggest Bruce Cambel as Two face, or if they wanted to go with more star power, go with that ugy that played Jezus.

He looks like a good Dent

after i watched sin city for the 100th time, i think the scene where jackie boy is talking to Dwight in his head that is a joker moment, i loved that scene, Benecio Del Toro is one of my faves now

who was that? I just don't see Benecio as ideal Joker material....but that is probably because i want to see Benecio as Bane. He just has to bulk up and get in the best shape of his life.

I said Benicio del Toro is good for Joker too - watch Sin City again and his segment as Jackie boy - and look at James Bond - Licence To Kill (his first role as a baddy - a skinny, grinning psycho)
And apart from VOICE - Benecio's wrong for Bane - Danny Trejo or Joaquim Al Meida are better Bane voice choices

Voice and anothers body worked for Darth Vader - Bane can be played thus

From what i have heard Townsend is real A-Hole!

And Jude Law isnt? - His treatment of ex-wife Sadie Frost? And theres been a lot of stories about his attitude too
The fact that a guy may be an A-hole or not - doesnt mean they are a good actor

I just dont rate Law as an actor of note, all his characters could easily be played by those others I mentioned

I dont see him as the Joker AT ALL

but his attitude does affect the set and how other actors blend with him on screen, u cant say that attitude doesnt affect a movie. look at anthony michael hal's movies after breakfast club (excluding edward scissorhands)

your right....i'm starting to think Law would be better as Riddler. Depp, Penn or Roth for Joker! I haven't heard Law being difficult to work with......i have heard that Townsend thinks he is gods gift to acting....but he is not....when he is on the set shooting.

Well trust me he can be difficult to work with, maybe he aint like that anymore but he was at least as cocky as Townsend once upon a time....

He just strikes me as a young terrance stamp - very similar voice too

And while stamp these days is a good actor maybe Law will get there too

And yeah man from one knight to another - I agree with you

Jude would be best served as the Riddler

But even then his American accent isnt half as good as his fellow country men

Still, I guess it would be kinda nice from a history of film viewpoint to see the Alfies - (Caine and Law) in a movie together

Still not sure about Sean Penn - he's a great actor and all - but he's dour faced as hell

You need someone with a Psycho stare and a killer grin

Roth, Depp and Del Toro have that down in spades man

No Pretty, and gets too much work, is what I mean

I Dont rate Jennifer Connelly either - again any film either are in, it could be any other actor replacing them in that role

They dont make parts their own - they just do fine and i see the actor not the character

What I mean is people dont say about them no one could have played that part except **insert GREAT ACTOR in here**

Depp has that, Roth has that, Dafoe has that, Del Toro has that

I think Tim Roth would be good from that list. Off of that list, I'd thrown in Tim Curry (Pennywise The Dancing Clown from "IT") or Geoffrey Rush. Both are good character actors.

I've been saying that same thing for a while and it holds merit

That explains his pale skin with out acid baths etc

Another way to explain his ghastly appearance is ingestion of chemicals - Drugs

Ever seen someone with a severe iron deficiency?

Dark yellow teeth and near translucent skin

The lips and hair could be affectations to round off the clown look

Thats if they want to go more "real world" again

The absolute perfect actor to play the joker is none other than Willem Dafoe! He already looks like the Joker, so imagine what he would look like when they put him in full costume!!

He's an excellent actor, and he can definitely be sinister, deranged, funny, and downright evil, all required to be the Joker!!

he's Green Goblin in Spider-Man 1 people know him and i doubt he will play Joker but WB are looking for young version of Joker to match Bale's Batman.

Excellent choice.

Here's some interesting news around the casting of the joker ,courtesy of darkhorizons :

"I wanted to clear up a few things that I've been reading about the casting of the 'NEXT' Batman movie. It's an unfair situation - but this how these things work, ok....

They're not letting any unknowns test for the villains of the next movie. NO official casting has begun, ONLY the odd meeting. They will be looking at securing names AFTER the release of Begins.

Christian Bale was/is enough of a gamble ("Reign of Fire" and "Equilibrium" made about a buck combined!), so, like this one, Warner are surrounding him with 'famous' faces. They've got their wish-list, and that's it. This guy, Lachy Hulme, it sounds like his people are pushing him more than Warner wants him - an unlikely chance, same with Crispin Glover, whose agent (not surprised) is pushing him ON Warner.

I've tried to get through to the powers-that-be that there's a couple of great actors on my agency's books that they should consider, but have been told by an exec there that it isn't worth pushing, because they have their wish-list, and it's got 'NAME ONLY' imprinted on it.

Honestly though, there's nothing, no-one really being considered at the moment....Mark Hamill's name has been casually mentioned due to his huge popularity in the cartoons as The Joker. Robin Williams, Sandler....your usual suspects"

Crispin Glover would be good Joker Robin Williams seems old to play Joker.

I'd take that with a massive pinch of salt

actually now tat i think if it.

Del Toro I think would be perfect, but, he may be too old.

Willem Dafoe seems a good choice... but there is the fact that he was the Goblin... His great acting would really pull it off. Crispin Glover could work. No to Robin Williams. Del Toro looks ok but I'm afraid I might not understand what he says, he mumbles a lot. Johnny Depp's too big of a star, could overshadow Batman like B89. Tim Curry actually looks great. I dunno anything about Lachy Hulme. Jude Law, too english.

After watching Batman Begins and seeing the mood and feel of the movie......I can automatically disqualify a few actors and if the sequel comes out and one of these actors gets the part, then I'll say I was totally wrong but here's who I think wouldn't get the part judging from the feel of Batman Begins (if Nolan comes back, that is)...

Willem Dafoe
Jim Carrey
Johnny Depp
Mark Hamil

Guys who I could imagine Nolan working with are the follows...

Crispin Glover
Tim Roth
Hugo Weaving
Vincent Gallo
Jude Law

Guys who I can't really imagine Nolan working with but are STILL a possibility are...

Lachy Hulme
Benicio Del Torro

And Christian Bale/Cillian Murphy/Gary Oldman aren't???

Remember....Joker doesn't exactly have a straight head on his shoulders so him having a British accent could actually lend to his madness. Hell, Mark Hamil's Joker even has a TOUCH of a British accent...

...not to mention Jude Law HAS played an American before.
