I've heard that Gallo is difficult to work with, I believe it :D

It would be interesting to see how he and Bale would get along.

I searched through this thread, and couldn't find it (might of missed it), but does anyone have the manips of Jude Law as The Joker?

Wow, I never thought of that Gallo guy. Maybe if he and Bale actually didn't like each other, it would work for the film's chemistry.

Anyway, I think he's a good actor, and I think that Hulme DOES look like the Joker.

I can't see Crispin Glover as the Joker, though. He just doesn't scare me at all. I'd rather have Hulme, even though I've only seen him in his short-lived Matrix scenes, but he would be more believable as an unknown than Glover, who I only see as McFly!

I hope Jim Carrey doesn't get involved.

I'm down w/ Tim Roth, or Benecio Del Toro; Adrian Brody seems like too big a puss (but he's got the chops); what do you guys think about Christopher Ecclesten?

I personally think that Johnny Depp would be perfect for the Joker. Whoever they get, he must be right. The Joker must not be toned down, he must have a clear plan, and he must be creepy yet funny at the same time. They must get the Joker right. After watching Batman Begins, I am quite certain Nolan will get him right.

Vincent Gallo would be extremely interesting, if he is willing to give it a shot I think he should be tested.

Also, I think Warner Bros/Nolan should SCREEN TEST a variety of actors, the fan favorites and additionally some lesser/unknown actors, maybe they'll find someone we haven't even thought of. Nobody should be closed to the idea of finding a Joker after testing several hundred actors rather than just a pick of names.

Can someone manip this?

I was just curious what people thought on who whould play the joker in the inevitable sequel. I couldn't think of anyone but Jim Carrey.

No big names for the Joker,go for a good character actor, you can't lose.Look at Spider-man 2 Alfred Molina really capture the Dr. Octopus character.

My choices for the Joker would include:

Ralph Fiennes, Vincent Gallo, Adrien Brody or Christopher Eccleston.

I hadn't even thought of Eccleston, very interesting choice. I would stay away from Ralph Fiennes, I adore him as an actor but after seeing him in Red Dragon I'd rather not see him take on a loony again (though that was under the guidance of a completely dead-in-the-water director, which Nolan of course is not).

Gallo, Brody and Eccleston are all very strong choices and should all be tested for the part.

Johnny Depp would be an excellent choice,I feel he is a good enough actor to pull off that part I mean Joker is a real important role and you need a guy who can do it good. The only problem is he is a big name and having him in this might steal the show from Bale who is the definitive Batman.Regardless,I feel that he'd be the perfect choice.

I'm not sure if this pic has been posted but from it I think Golver would be insanely good at joker.

You may be right about Fiennes, he has been sort of hit and miss lately. But I do agree that his lackluster performance in "Red Dragon" was due to a dissapointing script and especially boring, uninspired direction by Brett "X3" Ratner.

It's just that the guy has overwhelmed me in parts like Amon Goeth in "Schindler's List", his role in "The End of the Affair" and his veritable tour-de-force (also as a psychotic) in "Spider". Also his role as a cop going mental in the otherwise weak "Strange Days" was impressive.

Has anyone seen that infamous David Letterman interview Crispin Glover did years ago? :D I thought it was a great "performance".

Here it is
