And that's my last post getting OT. :o

hey its cool man i just thought the thread needed to get back on topic

this is a different thought that i sujested a LONG time ago. but how about jack white (yes the singer from the white stripes) but he was in cold mt. and coffee and cigarettes and was fantastic in both

I was watching the movie Hostage and found what I think is a good nomination for Joker: Ben Foster . He plays a evil, saddistic, and twisted murderer pretty damn good yet, he also makes you feel sympathetic for him ever so slightly at times during the film. Ben has also played some dramatic and comedic roles that display his range and the ones I've seen him in it always seemed his acting was well done. He has a good build on him and a face that is Joker like. I'm too lazy right now to post any pics (got to get to sleep soon so I'm not totally useless) but if anybody would like to take the initiative and post some pics/manips it would be appreciated. Have a goodnight all!

HOLY SHIIT!!! HOW IS IT THAT JUDE LAW ONLY HAS 7 VOTES  THE GUYS IS PERFECT!!! HE'S TALL AND LANKY. HE CAN BE DARK,SERIOUS, AND MANIACAL. NAME A CHARACTER TRAIT FROM THE JOKER AND JUDE LAW CAN DO IT ALOT BETTER THEN ANY OF THESE ACTORS MENTIONED SO FAR ON THIS THREAD. CRISPIN GLOVER THE FAN FAVORITE???? NOTHING I'VE SEEN FROM HIM SUGGEST HE CAN PLAY JOKER. THIS REMINDS OF THE LETS GET TOM WELLING FOR SUPERMAN DAYS. AN ACTOR WHO LOOKS LIKE THE ROLE BUT CANT ACT TO SAVE HIS LIFE!!!
Bump

I think the deal with Law is he has no edge. The Joker MUST have a dangerous edge to him, a bit of mystery. Law does not have that. Glover does.

I was so happy to see Neeson was actually Ra's in Begins. During the casting press releases I was pumped Neeson was casr, as in my mind he is perfect for that role. Then they came out satying Watanbe was it, now don't get me wrong he was incredible in Samurai but he does not fit the persona of Ra's very well at all.

Seeing that twist in the movie was very cool to me, glad they did it that way.

JOKER NEEDS TO LOOK AND BE PSYCHOTIC. JUST LIKE THIS.

Glover has more of an edge then Law??? Im sorry but that must be the dumbest comment I ever heard!!! Watch Road To Perdition!!! He was very Much "ON THE EDGE"

Most important traits for casting Joker?
Being Tall and Lanky
Having a Crazy Smile
Having a Good Voice
Having Genre Experience
Being the Correct Age
Being Original and not Resembling any Past Incarnations:

You know who has all those "Important Traits" JUDE LAW!!!

I forgot how much "ON THE EDGE" Law was in the movie "Alfie". :o

Oh, you can REALLY see the Joker in him in "Closer" when he bangin' two chicks at the same time.

No. Hes too pretty. Sorry. Glover needs AT LEAST an audition for the Joker...hes naturally creepy and psychotic. AND, hes an actor to boot...how many creepy psychotic actors do you know??! :o

Wow, it speaks. Law had NO edge in Perdition, he was just an unassuming goofy dude. he had no threat of danger about him. Wow if you thought he had edge I would hate to see you in public, you probably jump at shadows.

Hate to break it to you, but Mr atanabe was not Ra's, he was a dupe.

Genre experience? What super hero movie has Jude Law been in? Bale never did any, in fact nobody cast in a Batman movie int he past has had genre experience.

Law born 1971 Glover born 1964 wow big difference there. Glover looks far from his age as well.

The Joker is not really tall. Most times he is in the cmics he is about 3 inches shorter than Batman, that puts him about 5 foot 10 - 5 foot 11. Which I think Jude Law is about that but Crispin Glover is 6 foot 1 and lankier than Law with a creepier voice than Law. Law has the "seduce your wife" voice and I doubt he could hit the right notes for the voice to be a good Joker voice. The arguments you use to support Law over Glover really work the other way around. You should think those things through before postng them.

here are some smiles for you

Personally I think they should go with a no name actor and REALLY nail the part. I think Glover would do an ok job but he doesn't jump out at me and say "I AM the Joker" however he is easily better than Law for the part.

Glover is all wrong for the part. Yeah, he looks the part, but this is a movie, not a lookalike contest. He doesn't have the voice or demeanor for the part, and even if he can act the part, his voice is still absolutely wrong.

I dont think we should discuss that "the voices dont work" just yet, we havent even heard him act like the joker yet!!!! Thats like saying Bale was too thin or too fat to play Batman when we were first shown the pics of him when they announced his casting.

Actors ACT. I'm sure he can pull it off.

I've seen him act before. I don't question his ability to act. But even when he's acting as a crazy psychotic character, even when he's playing someone strong and has what is visually a very strong moment, his voice is still meek and whiny. He doesn't have the voice for the Joker, period. I'll still see the movie if he's cast, but he doesn't have the voice.

One thing Glover will never have is a Screen Presence!!! Jude Law has a variety and great range in acting Skills. He will make an original Performace of the joker and not just some knock off of Jack Nicolson. Another Great Thing about Jude Law who wont be intimidated By Jack Nicolson Performance who alot of people think he is perfect as the Joker. While Glover will fall falt in he's face!!! While Glover just "LOOKS" like the Joker and thats about it. TO EVEN COMPARE A GREAT ACTOR LIKE JUDE LAW TO GLOVER IS COMPLETLY RIDICULOUS. He is not even Close. You say Jude Law is too Pretty??? Look at Cillian Murphy who was one of those English Pretty boys and look how creepy he was in Batman Begins. You need to See Road To Perdition and A.I. It will change your mind.
