Joker Costume for Halloween

My vest came in the mail today. Rather big on my tiny frame but I should be able to fix that. Better too big than too small. I have a pocket watch, socks, hair color, pinstripe pants, found some old brown shoes (I didn't know I had) and am now awaiting my jacket. Luckily the jacket is actually for women, so it should fit.

But I must ask, how come everyone on this thread is so sexy? Honestly. It's crazy! xD

None of us are using "Brand Xxxxxxx",(love that Joker) we get a grin, again, and again."

i DID the lip scar.
it's attatched... hahaha...

(also, heath did NOT do his own makeup, and what was used was a new silicone application technique.
read below:

The Joker's make-up was also a departure from past incarnations of the character. While he retains an allusion to his familiar white-faced, sneering visage, his make-up for "The Dark Knight" was intended to give him a more frenetic look that also lends to its shock value. The Joker's face is covered in a white pancake that is cracked and runny in places. His eyes are thickly rimmed in black, and a sloppy red grin is painted on, extending from his mouth to his cheeks but not quite masking the terrible scars beneath. His hair is a more subtle, but still noticeable, shade of green.

Make-up and hair designer Peter Robb-King remarks, "Clearly, there was a perception in the audience's mind of what The Joker would look like, but we wanted to get under the skin, so to speak, of what this character represents in this story. He is someone who has been damaged in every sense of the word, so it was important that we create a look that was not, forgive the pun, 'jokey.'"

Heath Ledger's make-up artist, John Caglione, Jr., calls the application of the actor's make-up "a dance." He describes, "Heath would scrunch up his face in specific expressions, raising his forehead and squinting his eyes, and I would paint on the white over his facial contortions. This technique created textures and expressions that just painting the face a flat white would not. Then I used black make-up around Heath's eyes while he held them closed very tight, which created consistent facial textures. After the black was on, I sprayed water over his eyes, and he would squeeze his eyes and shake his head, and all that black drippy, smudgy stuff would happen."

The Joker's make-up also represents a revolutionary advancement in the application of prosthetics, developed and executed by prosthetic supervisor Conor O'Sullivan and prosthetic make-up artist Robert Trenton. "They used a brand new silicone-based process that enables the prosthetics to be laid on the skin in such a way that it's seamless," Robb-King describes. "It's absolutely amazing because you can put a camera right up to the face--even an IMAX camera--and there are no issues.")

Good and helpful read. Source though? Not that I doubt.

i was reading the entertainment weekly for this month or week whatever it is and it said that he actually did his own make up originally just to get an idea of how he wanted it to look

Yeah, I heard that, too. It was the professional's job to recreate it everyday.

Still very cool. My appreciation for the actor just goes up and up.

thanks :)

I'm just worried that people will think I actually look that gross, heh. X)
I packed on the make up.

It's alright I'm sure you are the very definition of beauty under that make-up...

If you can get it off that is :wow:

Not my pics, but saw these elsewhere online:

Much cleaner than all the jumbles of links, much better to keep track off. Thank you ir.

Those pics really got washed out by the camera's flash.
Looks exactly like the shade I made my vest. :) Now to wear down my shoes more, and make them more brown than black.
I now believe I understand what the heck is going on with the overcoat's button holes.

What's up with the smiley flower button? He doesn't have that in any of the other pics we've seen unless he picks it up somewhere in the film. That 1944 Mercury nickel button is awesome. I've already got a person working on one for my vest. They make Mercury nickel jewelry. What kind of fabric is the vest made from? We can really see it up close in a couple of those pics.

There's obviously a pattern of some sort in the blazer. I've seen this in some old blazers, so it looks like I'll have to upgrade. Is the blazer blue or gray or gray blue? Hard to tell and even these pics make it ambiguous. LOL.

Looks like he has a button hole cover on the overcoat. What's the overcoat appear to be made from?

Those gloves are obviously "handmade." The purple thread is a nice touch. Makes me wish I knew how to make leather gloves like that. The tie appears to have more detail in it than we originally thought. This is probably the best shoe reference we're going to get ever unless they make a nice coffee table style book with lots of cool photos and closeups.

These are great reference. My only gripe is the washing out due to the flash, but there are enough that either don't use it or are farther away that some form of color matching can occur. Anyone have any links to fabrics of these colors and hopefully of the correct material?

Thanks for posting the links.

Anyone wanna take a guess now at what kind of fabric the vest is made out of?

It's wool man. Wool, wool, wool. :)

Note that this is probably not THE hero costume we are used to seeing. Could've been for an extra, or some other stunt work.
Those funky buttons may be there just because.

Everyone looks great. Even the ladies on here! My scars, wig, and outfit all should be in by either this Monday or Tuesday and it's driving me up a wall! Cutting it too close for comfort.:csad: But anyways, here are my first attempt pics I did about a month ago. Better attempt pics will be posted when all my stuff finally come in.

Wow man, thats your first attempt thats awesome. Way to go with a badass first post. Welcome to the fun.

I now believe I understand what the heck is going on with the overcoat's button holes.

My thoughts exactly.. From one of the posters I could see that there was either no button/button holes or a flap to hide them..

It's about time someone found good shots.. Thanks Tyler

Heath-worn or not, that outfit's lookin' mighty fine.

The gloves are news to me though. What's up with them? Buttons are "cute".

And I went to Joanns and got suade green fabric for the front and dark blue silk material for the back.
