Joker Costume for Halloween

I'm sure I'm not the only person who will be doing this in a few months, so in the mean time I figured I'd start a thread where we can pitch ideas, share info on where to obtain necessary clothes/makeup/props, etc. And naturally images of the final deal when the time comes .

I've been doing some searching for clothes, and the only thing I've really been able to find are some decent socks, similar to what is seen in the leaked pics, and some purplish leather gloves. I figure I'll get some white slacks and a white dress jacket cheap and dye them purple myself, since finding them already has been a major pain.

As per makeup, getting that stuff isn't too hard, Party City has all I need (white makeup, eyeshadow, green hair spray, etc). I also had the idea of using a clown mask before unveiling myself with the makeup on, but I haven't been able to find a simple mask like the ones in the bank scene. So here's to helping each other.

I also want to be Joker for Halloween. I was looking to get some prosthetic scars to put on my face. Also I was thinking of getting a simple prosthetic chin and nose. Nothing to comical, just that my face doesn't really fit the joker profile. I want to combine Ledger's look with the comic look.

I got a dark purple trenchcoat, dark green vest and dark purple shirt from the salvation army all for like 16 bucks.

I actually have the animated series Joker costume, without the mask though. I used it in a film I made where the head of my Visual and Performing Arts Department played The Joker. I've seen the crappy fabric mask and the crappy rubber mask. Makeup is the only way to go for The Joker. Though the costume was a little too light purple, it looked pretty good with the right lighting. That said, I would love a nice, dark purple suit. I'd wear it to a wedding.

That's why I'm actually gonna buy a purple suit for mine this year. Why? Because thos generic Joker suits look rather stupid, and everyone looks the same.

Yes, it it rather expensive, but it costs to be cool.

BTW, if anyone can help me out with some Harley Quinn stuff, my GF wold really appretiate it.

She's already foun some two-toned red and black tights, we just need help with the top. Any creative ideas or anything would help. Thanks!

as it gets closer to halloween, the selection will get alot better. also, they don't have to look great as they'll be covered with the lipstick or whatever red make up you're using

I ment look great as in, it doesn't seem like the kind of cut one would expect. I find scratches makrs and all-oput gashes that would easily tear through my face, instead of scar it.

Just trying to think/help others.

Most towns have costume/makeup shops. Clown make-up (the real stuff, not Halloween crap) would work, I think. I did The Crow a few years back and it worked just fine.

Also, you might wanna try out Manic Panic's Goth White pounder makeup. I think that would work.

Wigs are easy to find.

And the costumes most of the people here are making are all bits and peieces of things. A green tie here, orange shirt there...it all comes together eventually.

I was also thinking of being the Joker,but I might just go with a combination of all the Joker's(Nicholson,Ledger;animated series;etc). What I really wanted to do though was get some good dentures or fake teeth that look rather creepy(and real enough). Does anyone know where I can find something like this? I'm thinking along the lines of the film,"The Man who laughs."

I'm becoming the Joker. When I get home later I'll post a picture of my make-up(got the heath ledger style make-up, I also have the hair) Just thinking of what clothes to wear.
