Joker Costume for Halloween

Hey everyone; I'm rather new here. And actually, I basically joined because of this thread alone. And let me just say, all of your costumes are wonderful.

I really don't feel like spending $305.00 on a Nurse's outfit, and plus it's just not as funny when a girl does it. But I still like that idea better, because I know around here half the population is going to look like a bunch of green-haired people in purple zoot suits.

Anyways, I've been looking everywhere for a Nurse's outfit that doesn't look so damn ****ty, but my luck's run short. Think I should wait until around September? They might be coming out with a licensed costume, maybe?

Or maybe I'll just go with the suit because not many chicks will be wearing a purple suit (and plus, I can poke fun at everyone by saying this is also my outfit to prom). But once again, I don't feel right buying them from a costume store. At $160, I'm afraid if I buy the Grand Heritage costume for the Joker, the materials might not be right.

yeah im sure a light lavender could work... its hard to tell because the pattern is pretty dark and covers alot of the shirt

White lab coat and an apron. just fold the front of the lab coat and put the apron ove it and fold differant places here and there and

Bam you got a not stuttly nurse

Dickies makes this wonderful dress which only costs about $30.

I'm buying one when i have the money. The only thing is, it doesn't have the pink trim. I'm going to add that, but i don't sew, so... I should be awesome.

Is that like it, by any chance? I can't find the exact dress online, but that looks close. It's very close in design to the Joker's nurse outfit, though. Thanks!

Oh, wow, that is very similar! Just missing a pocket, but I know a few people who could probably sew one on there for me. Thanks a bunch.

Spaz: by the way, can u give me the heads up if u can get the printed material... that would be sooo awesome!! :D

just thought i'd throw this into the mix...

as an alternative to the full costume i'm throwing together, i found i had a fairly similar shirt in my wardrobe to the Bank Heist opening scene... so now i also have a Bank Heist Joker costume!

purely by accident! joy!

I still have many scars left for sale and for trade. My last auction which included 2 sets sold for $510 :) I was pleasantly surprised and I must admit the positive response has been overwhelming. Just in case there's anyone here with items for trade (doesn't even need to be costume related :P) I'll gadly hear you out! Your trash could be my treasure! Willing to cut off a finger for some scars!? I just might do it! :D woudl make a hell of a nifty prop with my costume ;)

Ok, I called this place by me that does Screen Printing. He said printing to a shirt with button = hard. No go, he mentioned a place close to me that does a technique called Sublimation, although he couldn't find the name of it.

I googled for a bit to find this treasure, http://www.dpi-sf.com/fabric_printing.htm

Looks like they do digital printing with no minimums....

Who wants to pat me on the back? :woot:

over here in the netherlands iam waiting for printed material for a shirt too the most are are running $$$$ on ebay and other auction sites.
the socks you can find on ebay from time to time.

LOL, mentioned this company while my mom's boyfriend was here. His sister does digital printing. I'm writing DPI an email now, and he has a call into his sister. I'll keep you all updated. I maybe close to having semi-mass production of this shirt under way if I can find a tailor who wants to make more then 5 or 6 for me :-) Not for 400 bucks either.

yeah i was looking at their prices... i guess its not bad but we would need how much to make a shirt... like 3 yards? that could end up being a little pricey in the end... it all depends how much the charge to actually sew the shirt

What type of material would we be looking at if I can get this fabric printed? Cotton, silk, polyester? I think silk would give it that shimmering look that the silver in the pattern has. Plus with a vest and a jacket its light weight enough to keep you semi cool.

It all depends on what you can find a tailor to make the shirt for. Honestly if I can get the fabric printed for, 7 bucks a square foot and the **** made for 45. You figure thats $66 roughly for almost perfect (depending on the tailor). Thats not to bad compared to the 400 on ebay. I'd do it.

how much would it take to make a shirt?

Oh and for thje material... I ordered one of those free swatch books because I wasnt sure about what material to use... they said I should have it by Monday...

The Poly silk looks to be like 7 bucks a square yard. If I can get the printing done at my mom's boyfriend's sisters. It will be alot cheaper, cause the fabric I will purchase and the pay her some for using the machine. As for getting shirts made once I get the fabric I will look into tailors. Unless someone wants the fabric to get it made on their own, then I should just ship the material.

what type of things are you looking to trade the scars for??
Skies the limit at this point...one guy offered me a jedi robe well another traded me Arwen's sword form lord of the rings :P...in other words make an offer and we'll see what happens. Feel free to PM me! ^_^
