Thanks for stealing my design DARTHBALLS. I can't believe the thievery around here! There is no excuses for this kind of behavior.

Anyone purchasing this tie, be aware it's a stolen design from my original and isn't nearly the quality in resolution. It's not even the right size.

I put countless hrs into building this pattern from scratch using Corel Draw. I drew each shape, duplicated and aligned each one to create the final design that consists of over 20,000 vector points. Then I added colors and gradients that took multiple trial and errors to get the exact look I wanted.

And after all that people just steal it. How frustrating! :cmad:

Yes I do charge more for my products. I'm a professional graphic designer and this is how I make my living. Of course I'm a huge fan as well. That's why I make these products, because I love creating things I'm passionate about! If people don't want to pay the price I'm asking for then they should buy from someone else or create their own, but don't steal other peoples work.

P.S. Thanks for backing me on this CT_Joker.

Here is the cheapest childs mask up right now, and like i said go with the childs as it is how it is suppose to be anyway plus it stays put on your face better than the rubbery full head adult version.

Soulinertia, thievery will always exist online, if you post a pic up then someone will just right click and save it then edit it to their own, unless you can embed a "no right click" html code, but there again that doesnt guarantee protecting your work either since they can just press "PrtSc" key then paste it in Paint or whatever, im with you all the way , it sucks and isnt right but it cant be regulated on here, im sure people will buy your better resolution tie anyway :)

Yea it is the rubies CHILD mask, got it (well them, lol) for only 6 bucks plus shipping, total like 11 bucks.

Yea I am going to wear it with make up as the CHILD mask stays put on your face so no worries of make up smearing.
Let me know how that turns out 'cause I still want to wear a mask over my makeup so I can have a reveal.

After I saw CT's comment about the tie copied on Zazzle, I posted the following:
I mentioned to CT before that someone was selling the pattern taken from here as Iron on paper on ebay. If you put links here to your auctions, items, etc, people are going to jump to the opportunity to sell with your pics or reselling after buying from you.
Bottom line, don't advertise your items here.

If you post your pictures here anybody can right click and copy them, there is no way to use html and block them, what I do for my sales to avoid people for copying my pics. Here there are too many lurkers and too much competition, as on any business assuming that nobody is going to copy something that you are being succesfull in it's naive.

would you like 5 minutes alone with him and a wiffle bat? or would you like to play good cop and have batman be bad cop?
well what a jerk to steal from you.
tho if he did (not doubting,) this may not have been the first, hes probably lazy, and he was probably also the kid the managed to get away with plagiarism in school too.
if so, he can eat my balls!

I'll put in detail of where I got each item and if it was modified and how, so it gives a summary of ideas for you guys still putting your costumes together.

Purple Coat:
Ordered from Tssy2005 on ebay, but like many other asian sellers, I guess they were asked to take the product down by WB. It fit perfectly and the color and lining is beautiful.

Chain: Bought at Hot Topic. They sell great wallet chains for like 6 bucks each.

Shoes: Bought at Burlington Coat Factory

Tie: http://www.zazzle.com/joker_tie-151736642003114176?gl=Dracomancer
I took a high resolution picture from a Dark Knight poster of the Joker's tie pattern. I fiddled with it as much as I could and this is the result of what I was able to do.

Gloves:
Bought at Burlington Coat Factory. They had a nice leather section and I just modified around with the gloves until I got the result I wanted.

Pants:
Bought at the mall, but to be specific, got them at Sears. They were originally a lighter purple so I had to die them with a polyester type of dye, by Dylon, and I used a denim blue color dye. Then once they were done dying, I took and ruler and white "Painters" fabric pen and penned on the stripes. They came out really nice. You can get fabric pens and Dylon at Joanns.

Socks:
I took a pair of white socks and fabric penned the design, but this was a ***** to do and the color didn't stay as well as I thought it would. So I'm going to eventually end up ordering the Tabio official Joker socks once I've saved up the money for them. Its not like you really see the socks anyway so I'll stick with just my rainbow skeleton socks lol.

Vest:
Also ordered from Tssy2005 and he no longer sells that either. However Joker's vest has a BACK PATTERN. Its a dotted line pattern and I merely took a white fabric pen and line dotted the entire back of the vest.

Shirt:I bought a regular woman's work shirt in a greyish blue color and fabric penned the parts that would be visible with and or without the coat on. Took a LOT of time to do.

Wig:
http://www.cosworx.com/product.php?productid=16284&cat=2449&page=1 I ordered this wig in a brown color, although I probably should have ordered it in a lighter color.

Makeup:
For local Sacramento people like me, I bought some simple makeup stuff from Evangelions in downtown Sacramento.

Scars:
Its a silicone rubber type of prosthetic I got known as Skin Tite.

If you want to see any updated designs there needs to be some other key word, other than joker, tdk, the dark knight, batman..these are off limits to use with handmade/non-licensed stuff. so, search the entire section of "men's costumes" or "movie memorabilia" if you want to catch what you are looking for. But in the interest of making your costumes everything you want them to be, I have been searching out forums like this. From what I have read so far, you are quite articulate at seeing the flaws and plus' of items out there, and very good at making parts of it yourself. KUDOS! ok, now I am going to read the rest of the thread. Thanks and I am glad I found this group! :woot:

why are you so interested?? are you gonna make some vest or something??? if you are then im interested that your interested

I already have a pretty good version, but jumped on here to see what you guys had to say. I don't think I am allowed to post a pic yet, right? It has the two slat pockets, and the two pocket flaps higher up, a great green shade in a suit-weight fabric, lining, the two-color back collar, narrower lapel... and some happy customers already. I am a junkie with costumes though, I constantly look to see for improvements, or something I may have missed that you guys, and some others, have to say. What are the most important elements to you?

How do you know that it's your design? After all, your design is based on an already existing one, so he could have just used that one.

Although, yours is about a bajillion times better than his, regardless of the source. How much is it for one of your ties?

its actually not a real knife... Im not crazy... I made that thing out of paint stirring sticks from dunn edwards. haha. I cut it out with a box cutter and shaped it with sand paper, painted it, and put the three pieces together... whole thing cost me about 6 bucks and 1 hour.

DUDE!! thank you so much for posting!! Not only did you answer my question, but you gave me a GREAT idea!!

ya well it sucks because ppl do it to me as well...if u look at ebay many ties on their are yours and mine and they buy mine for 30$ and try to resell for 75-100$+ and i asked them to stop doing that because it was just bad manners on them. and they laugh and say they are just trying to make a buck like everyone else..which is bs

its kind of a shame we cant share with fans on here without having people leeche onto them and sell them for an inflated profit. very much like that person selling iron on sheets lol its funny to when i contact the ebay sellers and they say its not my zazzle tie..yet its the same design AND their name and address match up on zazzle with their ebay info lol oh well...its a funny world we live in..

yeah, here is the rubies wig that I had picked up.
I used the child size (because my head could fit it) and there is less hair woven into it than the adult size.

which, when more "styled", turned out looking like this + makeup

By far one of the top 5 Jokers my friend!

Thanks

Noxas,
I am listing one wig tonight and also the vests I finished today, what a pain that was!

CTJoker, as discussed before, how can we sort out who is lurking or who amongt us is copying ideas from our auctions, pictures, etc. It's sad having to be this careful and not being able to share freely, I finished my vests and I am terrified of posting pics here as anybody can just copy them and then listed them as theirs.

I would just like to say that my screen accurate vests have been out there for some time. I will continue to offer those as they are. I am here to find out what everyone wants and try to meet that if possible. I hope there is nothing wrong with that? I have no desire to upset anyone by my quest to make the best costume I can. I strive to do the best in everything I do, no offense intended there. Hope none is taken? I have sold materials to people on here that came back and sold identical items to what I HAVE BEEN selling. That's ok with me, but I don't want anyone thinking I am a come-along-behind person after your ideas. I only seek to provide the best products for a reasonable amount.

Sorry for the double post, but I just remember earlier today I saw that the halloween shop that is opening up around the corner from where I just moved to has a pretty big display in front of the window of a slew of Dark Knight masks. All I could really see when my friend's and I drove by were a bunch of Children's Joker face and Joker Bank robber masks. It opens on friday, so maybe I'll hop on my skateboard and head over there around lunch if I'm not doing anything.
