If you use the opaque paint stuff then yes definatly... but did you order the red pair on purpose or did they say they were mulberry? cos the mulberry ones are perfect.
Yeah, I knew they weren't Mulberry, they just looked more pink on the ebay picture.
Any specifics on this paint? I've never done anything even remotely like this before

well i havent actually used it myself, but someone on this thread (quite a while back now) had used it with great success... i think it was something like Jacquard Neopaque Paint, but dont quote me on that, hopefully someone who actually painted their gloves will come to your rescue soon lol.

Hey all. I decided to do one final make up test before Halloween. I needed to time myself this go-round to make sure I can be ready in time! So from collodion application to wig fix up it was right around an hour. Here are the results. I'd appreciate your feedback.

Oh, and Clint, thanks for the tips on the wig. I did everything you suggested and once I got it into place I kept running into the problem that if I shifted my head or moved too much it kept reverting to looking like garbage...SO, what I did was got it into place then had my g/f use bobby pins and pin certain pieces into place so they would never move, while leaving some pieces of hair loose for natural flow etc. I think it turned out decent (for Rubie's)...thanks for the help

has anyone tried to spray paint leather gloves? how'd it turn out? any type of paint you'd recommend?

No one really ever commented on my make-up so I figured I'd post it again. Yeah, the quality sucks because it is my webcam. The make-up is more smeared than it appears and the forehead lines are defined. So, yeah, let me know what you think.

Hey Gavin. It looks pretty good, but it's kinda difficult to see the details of it. Take some close ups in better lighting and I'm sure you'll get a little more feedback. Up a few posts you'll see mine (under the spoilers)...I took some up close and detailed pics.

Can anyone tell me what kind of gloves these are? I've decided to go as the Riddler for Halloween instead of the Joker. My costume's going to have this sort of vibe.
Ouch, my bandwith. Might want to spoiler tag that.

Anyway, they seem to be of similar style to the joker gloves though it is hard to make out the texture.

Dude your dyed grey trousers look awesome!, are they wool?, polyester? & how did you colour them?

Cheers

Mitch :trans:

i used purple sylon dye, i think the trousers are wool im not shure. best thing was they were on sale at tesco LOL

Now, first thing I'll admit is that these all range from slightly to extremely inaccurate. Pretty much Halloween purposes only, nothing "perfect" here! Still, now that I've upgraded certain parts of the costume, I gotta get rid of the old, so...

LAST CHANCE on the pants and tie - those end tomorrow! The shirt will be around a while.

You guys all put me to shame... :csad:. I barely have any time on my hands being at University and all, so I'm buckling and getting the rubies costume:

Minus the mask, cos that things ugly!

I'll just do the make-up myself.

So, im going as bank joker this year and everything is just about done, but my problem is...the mask. Which mask is better, the adult latex mask,or the child one? Need to be sure before i order it

Mine arrived yesterday. Good ol' Z(+)diac told that the best option was the child deluxe one, so I ordered it. It's quite nice, it fitted me like a glove and it actually covers a good part of the head. Check these pics:

Today I officially finished off my Joker costume! Yesterday I picked up a new pair of pants and today I finally bit the bullet and cut ten inches off my hair, to save the hassle of dealing with another unfortunate wig accident. Needless to say, the girls at the salon thought I was a nutter for cutting off so much hair for a 'halloween costume'. Ah well, it was worth it!

New hair under the spoiler...

Final version of my own Joker styled costume...

Not pictured are my socks ( hot topic ones ) and my shoes ( which I might replace with a pair of black square toed shoes ). I also have a bunch of fake knives to stuff into my pockets as well. Anywho... I'm really happy with how this all looks and hopefully within the days to come I'll try to get a photo of me actually wearing my costume WITH my make-up on!

for people saying that a joker costume is a dumb idea this year or unoriginal or whatever, has anyone thought about doing this?

Framestore_01b.jpg

it'd be easy to get a nurses outfit, and just paint your face (awesomely) still. I dont know, if anything I'm sure you'll be pretty original with it at least.

^ There's been a bunch of people who've done Nurse Joker.

Personally, if I remember correctly, Berg is one of the best.

I'd love to do a nurse joker, but I still need some time to consider the whole cross dressing angle to it. Eventually I break down and do it though.

thank god lol, i just ordered that yesterday so im glad its good lol... ACTUALLY whats the difference between the child one and child delux one?

EDIT: just found that ones plastic and ones latex... i ordered mine from http://www.fancydress.com/costumes/Kids-Clown-Mask-/0~483956~0
It just says 'child clown mask'... nothing about deluxe, although in the description it says it is made from 'soft moulded rubbery material'... so finger crossed its the right one lol.

The new do looks greaaaaaat :) plus its not like it wont grow back, yea i know where your coming form with people thinking your nutz just for a halloween costume. I reallllly like your costume, it looks awesome, i love the purple and black together, im probably going to just end up using plain black leather ones as well, since i dont wont to fool with painting some, plus im mean realistically how many strangers are going to approach you and say " his gloves were purple, or those arent his socks or thats not his tie, etc etc" Unless your entering a "joker" costume contest then i dont see all the fuss of getting every hue of color and every stitch of fabric right, cause in the end it sucks but no matter how much time and effort you put into it, there is always that one person who will be more accurate. "cough AZSpidey cough" :P So just have fun people.

Again Kelikala the outfit looks amazing, good job

The child one just covers your face and doesnt hardly cover any part of the side of your face like this childs deluxe one does. This is the one you guys want.

The regular one is made of plain plastic -like a regular Halloween mask- and doesn't cover the head. I found this image on ebay and apparently this are regular child masks:

So yeah, the deluxe one will last longer.

Thanks Clint! I ended up changing my outfit up because it seemed to fit my personality more and to be honest, I think I'd have more fun being 'the joker' if I was wearing something that seemed a bit more natural for me. I might go sans tie though... I've never liked wearing anything close around my neck ( crazy quirk I developed after being in a halo neck brace for three months following a car accident ), so in the end I will probably be ditching the tie and just leaving the top button undone on the shirt. As for anyone approaching me about the costume... I live in a small community and I'll only be going to a few larger Halloween events in some bigger cities, so I doubt anyone will care if it's screen accurate or not. If anything I'll probably get more people commenting on the fact that I'm a girl dressing like a guy. LOL

Your hair is absolutely perfect. Really nice costume too. I think I'm going to go with more comic styled hair because wigs look ridiculous on me. Are you going to take more pics when you fully "suit up"? Can't wait to see. Awesome:woot: job.

Thanks guys!... i sure hope i get the deluxe one then, it just didnt state what it was... it best be the deluxe one for £12 lol

Thanks for the comment about my hair! I was surprised how well it turned out and I was happy to see that the natural wave to my hair came back in full force with it being cut shorter! With the green paint, it looks pretty close to Heath's joker. Now I just need to slather it with gel and I'll be all set!

I'm also happy to see that so many people like my costume even though I veered away from a screen accurate Joker. I like the idea of being able to put my own spin on the costume and I'm pretty sure that people will know who I'm supposed to be!

I do plan on taking more pics all suited up. If my timer on my camera wasn't shot, I would have had some up by now, but I might have to suck it up and just manage with some 3/4 shots taken in my mirror! I might even try to get some done this Sunday.

What are you dying, pant's or new coat? For pants I do one box of blue and just sprinkle red in while mixing until the color looks right. You really don't need much red. I used to do the purple and add blue but I think you get better control of the shade if you use red and blue.

*** CONT'D PANTS DYE DISCUSSION ***

OK ; so the pants being the last portion of my completed outfit, I've gone ahead and purchased:
http://www.bananarepublic.com/brows...ight+angled-pocket+pinst+Navy&searchCID=25789

now...I took into account to avoid more than 50 % synthetic (polyester or whatnot) by choosing a 75 % cotton / 25 % nylon pant. The pinstripes seem wide enough and the navy *SHOULD* be favorable to the goal of the blue'ish purple end-result.

I now need to buy the RIT-DYE (assuming this is what you guys recommend) - based on the BLUE+RED mix please clarify as to wether I need NAVY BLUE or ROYAL BLUE + WINE RED or SACRLET RED. http://www.ritdye.com/Powders.28.51.6.lasso Rit charts.

Appreciate the advise particularly from those that have had success with this. I am a bit concerned after reading GhostSoldier etc. 'ruining' several sets of pants.

peaceout
REWN
