Kelikala, you deserve a plaque or something. Awesome.

 :O

Thanks!

Wanna hear a funny... earlier when I was going out to my car, my neighbor stopped me and asked if I was the 'nutcase' walking through my apartment building in 'make-up' around midnight last night and I nodded and said yes. Apparently I scared the crap out the group of people she was hanging with in the hallway upstairs. Heck, I didn't even know anyone was up there! I suppose midnight wasn't the right time to take the *cough* trash out.

I can't be that scary...

btw an ode to DFA! you inspired this pic :)

awesome as usual. that jacket looks really good.

oh and definately keep your own hair. it works.

finally saw the tripp jacket in person. not bad for the price and the sleeves really unbutton but didnt really do it for me overall. poor fabric choice imo.

kinda meh.

Well I went my usual goodwill tripping today and stumbled on these pants, i was like holy crap they are perfect, imo. My custom made outfit came with pants but the material was thinner and was in need of a purple dye treatment plus i have the purple pants i drew the pinstripes on myself but THESE i tink will be better, imo and for 3 bucks hell had to grab em. And the goodwill in my area is a goldmine for all your last minute jokers out there, i saw more pants, shoes and overcoats that would be PERFECT, so if there are in NC jokers out there check out Hickory,NC goodwill's.

Hope you don't mind me being so forward but every damn picture I've seen of you on this site you look bloody amazing. Your clothes, makeup - everything is absolutely 'bang on' as we'd say here across the pond.

Here's a gold star for excellence :star: :applaud

Make sure you post plenty pics after the 31st!

Just found the Airsoft mask I want -

thought i'd throw my effort into the ring... made the wig myself by carefully cutting a second hand wig and strategically gluing the bits onto a bald cap... quite chuffed with it... and no, i wasn't going for 100% accuracy as you can see... its a bit of a homage to the classic joker colours...

Looks pretty good to me :yay:
See you're in Scotland as well, which part??

Was out tonight and passed this guy dressed up as the Joker, he was all dressed up for his 21st and I waved to him from across the street shouting "nice outfit, I love the Joker!", so I get talking to him and before I know it, I've got a photo with him and get his email address for sending the photo to!!

Felt quite ashamed afterwards, seeing as I'm a couple years older and have a boyfriend...I couldn't help myself though! Seeing such a great costume and make up job, I just had to talk to him and put across my nerdyness to him about the character!! He was digging it though, so no harm done!

The outfit and wig look great:up: I had the idea of doing the bald cap route and now i think i just might after seeing you did it with great results, how long roughly did it take ya to finish the wig? and did you use a hot glue gun to attach the strands of hair to the cap? again great work:up:This is really one of the ONLY ways, imo of getting the receding look with a hairpiece.

Well i finally got my costume done for the National irish Comic con on next week!*gasp*The suit is from an austin powers costume the shirt is was hand made witha biro and easy stencil. The white make up is the cheap stuff with talc powder on top. The black is eyeliner and the red is blood! Ill have better pics of the outfit soon! What you guys think?

firstly, cheers for the comments...

to Mog85... i'm currently residing in Edinburgh, but grew up in a wee highland village, but was born in Dunfermline... i'm currently sharing a flat with The Riddler & Poison Ivy (long story, but those were their costumes for a party we had recently).

and ClintF... the wig was cut into sections, not individual strands... and a couple of smears of strong all-purpose or power glue should be enough to hold it... just take not that the bald cap might require a hefty amount of trimming to suit... i removed nrealy a quarter of mine... and it might be an idea looking at spirit gum or liquid latex as a fixative, as i found my wig kept riding up my forehead, which meant either pulling it back down or putting more white paint on my head to cover the gap...

oh aye... i used snazaroo paint for the white face, black grasepaint for the eyes and red indian ink for the mouth... the scars were done with rigid collidon and a wee bit of wax (the wax looked brilliant pre-make-up but came right off once the red was on :( )... i may post a pre-make-up pic of the scars at some point.

Hello everyone. Everyone's costume is glorious. Can't wait for more pics after Halloween. I finished my Joker costume. You can't see the chain or socks, but they're there. Sorry for the mask, but I was too lazy to put on makeup that day.

The Joker is one of my favorite characters and I never thought I'd be able to make a Joker costume. I've been working on it here and there since page 1 of this thread(Post #3 lol) But with the help of you guys I'm extremely satisfied with my finished product. I just want to thank you all very much.Thank you for helping me create something I never thought I could.

hey fellow jokers
gotta a couple of questions about dying gloves

i bought these cricket gloves at a local sport shop
CopyofDSC00436.jpg

they are made out of cotton and even though not screen accurate
they look fairly jokerish

i have never dyed anything before so i am a bit nervous about doing so
so my questions are
  • what is the best/easiest way to dye the gloves
  • best is best for the colour eg.stamp ink, food colouring ect
  • and once dyed will the gloves have a chance of running if wet ect
any help would be greatly appriciated :yay:

well im working on a screen accurate joker costume but im doing mine a little different. Im taking his outit from the movie and making more of a black and white version. It'll be different but the makeup will still be the same. only a diferent colored version. im close to having everything i need except the gloves and working on the makeup. I'll post some pics when i have it all done. What do you all think of my idea? any one else think of doing the same type of thing?

i've been workin on a very similar idea for several weeks now. pretty much, its a super screen accurate joker outfit, with the ONLY difference being the colors. ive been going for black, white, grey and blue. im currently in the process of getting my custom tailored jacket, where the purple will be black, and the orange lining will be royal blue instead. this is the quick photomanip i send custom tailors to show them what my goal is http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c207/FreakHyena/BLKnBLUE.jpg

the guy who is making my jacket will also be making the vest. i found him on ebay.

as for my hair, it would be blue instead of green, and the face paint wouldnt have any red on it. i havent been posting progress pix since its not exactly a JOKER costume, but rather more like maybe someone who works for him, but i was definately planning to post a pic once i had the whole ensamble together.

Sounds neat, but very Crow-esque.

I finished my costume minus gloves and wig. I'll probably just use Rubies stuff since I'm running out of time. I'll post pics later in the week if not tomorrow.

So here's pictures of my costume test. The makeup will look much better on Halloween. For one, I didn't apply the adhesive scars and I foolishly applied the white makeup before the red and black, so the red looks pink and the black looks gray. Also, I need to work on the wig a bit, but that's what the test was for.

Not pictured: The socks! But they're only visible when I'm sitting down anyway. All I'm missing is the chain.

I dyed my gloves with RIT purple dye, multiple boxes of it for 3 days straight. You'll want to wash your gloves off before you dye them. I didn't with my first pair, and they had places on them that didn't dye very well because of oil, dirt, etc. that had collected on them.

I started out by stealing Mario's gloves -
9-13001jpgA.jpg

I let mine set for 3 days straight, evry few hours I would stir them, and then flip them over. After 3 days, I rinsed them, and they came out like this - (Large pic.!)
9-17001.jpg

Preety dark IMO, but they soon began to fade, a couple days after that, they where preety light, but comparing them to a few select shots, they came out preety good. :oldrazz: I'd like them to be a bit darker, but I won't chance it. They've got a worn look to them, and I'm preety happy with them as of right now. -

(But who would of thought a full joker would of sprouted?) -

But as you can see from that pic. the thumbs dyed darker than the other parts of the gloves because of the diffrent fabric used.
Closer to the touring version -

But I would have prefered them to come out like this -

Soooo, I tried my hand at liquid latex scars. Tell me what your thoughts and what you think!
(and yes, I'm aware that i don't have the lip scar. I'm most likely going to use collodion for that)

Thoughts?

Right side is a little big. It does go up a little high and I think it's too..wide. It looks like it was cut with a saw, not a knife lol. The left side is pretty impressive though. I'd say just scale it back a little. The right side scar kinda goes up to the cheek bone (bottom of the cheek bone) and is parallel to the nose.
