i got that same tie! from wal-mart?

How's is there trick or treating already going on in everyone's neighborhood or these Halloween events?

I haven't heard of anything like this in Chicago yet (West suburbs at least)? I wanna go and freak people out Joker style. ;)

Btw, what are you guys printing out your joker cards on?

I'm guessing alot of places, mine included celebrate "Fall festival" the weekend before the 31st. Like around here, we had Trick-or-Treat the 24th, and then the Fall Festival and parades were the the 25th. This works out for me realy nice, because I can go do another event the 31st, because frankly, the 31st goes by around here evry year, and nothing has ever happened on it.

As for my cards, I got a double sided gloss paper to do mine one. The ink was wet on them that you could see for about 10 mins. on each side, but they sorta rubbed a little bit afterwords. But they were completly dry that night. One realy odd thing though...You can lick the ink off realy easy. How do I know this? Because one of the kids I gave one to licked the back of his, and then stuck it on his head. He had a blue tongue, and a blue mark on his head after he pulled it off. I told his mom they weren't for consumption, and she just laughed. So he licked it some more, and it finaly stuck to his forehead, LMAO!!!!

Great finds and great costume.
Btw, has anyone ever told you that you could totally pull off Sylar from 'Heroes'?
Thank you!

And yes. In fact, some girls at my school last year pasted printed pictures of him all over my locker and carried them around and held them up to me all day. :woot:

To make the scars with liquid latex find some good pictures to work from.
Next gets some modeling clay and using your reference pictures mold the joker scars.

After that its time for some liquid latex and toilet paper.

apply a thin coat of liquid latex to your scar mold followed by a layer of toilet paper. Make sure you get the toilet paper in all the cracks and crevices so you don't lose definition in your scars. allow this to dry then apply another coat of liquid latex and toilet paper. The toilet paper is used to add strength to the prosthetic.

if you are satisfied with the amount of toilet paper apply a few more coats of liquid latex allowing each one to dry in between. make sure all your edges of the scars are a bit thinner to make blending easier later.

after its all good and dry CAREFULLY peel the scar off of the clay and trim it up as needed to fit your face.

Attach the scars with spirit gum then use some liquid latex to blend your skin and the scars together
Two more very important tips. When you apply a layer of latex, let it dry completely before you touch it or else it will be gummy and wherever you touched it will stick to your finger and ruin it. This takes a LOT of patience.

And the other is that when you're done and the scars are dry still on the clay, throw some baby powder on. If you don't, when you peel them off the crevaces will stick to eachother and you'll end up ripping the prosthetics getting them apart.

Hey Jokers...

I have been lurking this thread for awhile now. I have been constructing my joker costume for a couple of months now. I had almost every piece custom made. The only found cloth item is the blue blazer. The tie is one of the older zazzle ties, but I mean to replace that soon. Let me know what you think.

(I'll have full makeup shots to share soon...)

Alright, for anyone on here who had to dye their clothes...how do you get the purple to be really dark?? I dyed the coat I have, left it twice as long as the directions said and it's still a lovely easter-y shade of purple. I thought someone mentioned mixing black into the mix to make it darker...or will I turn my junk gray? This all stinks!

Oh, and I'm still looking for a hair product to give me that Heath curl. any recommendations?

Man, there are a lot of nice jokers in this thread. Here's an idea if you don't have collodion or latex appliances for the scars. I hijacked some crappy face paint my gf used for a zombie costume. I blended some black paint into the white below the red to mimic the shadows the scars would make. Sorry about the crappy bathroom mirror pics, I hope you can see what I'm talking about...

Nothing on me other then the socks, shoes and chain will be used in the final product but the bell bottoms made me lol all day...Disco feva!

everyone is laid back in my town..the biker cops chased me a few times and one of the patrol cars turned there sirens on behind me once, scared the crap outta me.

But the kids enjoyed it. Gave out what little cards I had and got mauled by a bunch of them...mainly hugs to the legs XD

we have a coffee house on the corner of main st where the parade was...around lunch when it was full I literally jumped trough the doorway and did the whole "Good Evening ladies and Gentlemen" line. I never saw such mixture of emotion in a room: laughter, smiles, shock, and pure unadulterated fear

we hung out at the bank, the police station and this wide alleyway, and kids and parents would come up and asks for pics

that is pure awesomeness...

Hey everybody. My friend and I went to a haunted house last night and figured we'd dress up for the hell of it. I did my friend's makeup as two face and I went as Joker of course. Everybody really responded well to us and took tons of pictures with us and what not. It's strange to see how many little children love Joker. Anyway, I wish I got more pictures from that night, but I only took a few before we left.

Awesome tips guys, thanks a lot! Now I only need to find a good option for the hair, I've been looking and the only thing that I've seen is spray.

Dude...seriously I don't really know how to describe this but based on the way you wear the costume and the way it fits you (obviously we can't count the face since we don't see it) you ARE the best Joker in this thread. It just hangs perfectly. Looks exactly like Heath's costume and the same way he wore it.

Wow man, thank you so much!

I will be sure to put some pics w.o the mask soon!

Hi everyone,

I've been lurking here for a while, learning from all the talented folks here. I just finished my Joker enough to debut it at a Halloween party this weekend. Great event, and I got tons of stares and compliments. Still a few things I'd like to tweak/add such as:

1. More screen accurate shirt (I used the one form HT)
2. Need to get the pocket watch chain
3. Print up some Joker cards to hand out/toss around
4. Add suspenders.

I hope to get more pictures(including details) this weekend. let me know what you think!
