Joker 'JOKER: FOLIE À DEUX' (Phillips and Phoenix return for the sequel) General News & Discussion Thread

According to twitter, looks like it's Harry Lawtey.

You sure? I don't doubt that's what Twitter is saying but I don't know if I buy it...he seems so young. Cute though

It almost feels like they are doing what was rumored before...setting up all the villains in the universe where Batman doesn't exist. What is Gotham like if Batman never showed up.

The trailer is everything I wanted and more. So hyped for this. Love the elevator shot of Harley referencing the first movie. Hell, I love everything about this. I cannot wait. Incidentally, watching the YouTube viewing figures shooting up in the bottom left corner as I watched was insane (appropriately enough)! If the movie lives up to that trailer we have nothing to worry about.

Here we go. Also, Joker representing himself in court is a perfect recipe for greatness!

When Goyer first mentioned his original idea for TDKR involving the Joker on trial, I so wished we got to see that. Granted he mentioned that back in 2005, so who knows how far that idea got. But hopefully this will be great as well.

I honestly think this will be more memorable than the first film. The musical aspect initially made me hesitant, but I'm fully embracing it now and it looks beautiful.

Plus, Joker on trial is always fun.

I prefer the first trailer, but this was good at showing more of Harley. I like what Gaga seems to be doing with her.

Yes, I know, but still...
And I agree with you, to be fair. I don't know if lightning can strike twice, but I think Joker 2 has the potential to surprise everyone again with its box office. More so because you've got legions of Lady Gaga fans who probably never saw the first Joker film, but will watch this because she's in it.

Still absolutely loving that white suit look.

The TDKR vibes…

Although I'm a bit surprised we still don't see much purple with any of his looks. They've really given him his own look for these movies.

There does appear to be a (probably) unintentional TDKR throughline with Phoenix's Joker, e.g., the talk show sequence in the first, the white suit in this one.
