Jonny Quest is Coming!

Who should direct?

I would actually like to see Jon Favreau do it. Zathura is a really underrated family film, and it had some neat retro future aspects that could be utilized in Quest.

I did a poster manip of them a while back.

nice manip, but you should go back and add someone as hadji lol

its a good poster though, thomas dekker would be good but isnt her a lil old now?

Ron Perlman would be cool as Race. I still say Campbell for some reason, though.

Interesting thought... I'll be able to say yes or no to that officially on May 3rd, 2008 (you know, when Iron Man comes out :woot:)

Who should direct?

Robert Rodriguez should drop out of Jetsons and direct this movie instead. This movie is more "up his alley" than Jetsons. PLUS, if he directed we'll definitly get George Clooney as Race Bannon. If Rodriguez was able to talk Clooney into doing Spy Kids then he'll talk him into playing Race Bannon.

Do we really need Jessie?

great minds think Like mine. :word:

Say what you want about sharkboy and lava girl, but RR definitely gets boyhood enthusiasm perfectly in his movies and recognizes what's cool about gadgets and world wide adventures almost like Spielberg somehow perfectly captured the spirit of old swashbuckling serial heros.

Whoever they pick as Johnny should not be like these sheltered soft talentless Disney kids. He should look like he's surfed a couple mondo waves

IN SPACE.

Rodriguez would be awesome.

I disliked all Spy Kids movies and never bothered with Sharkboy & Lavagirl. However, this is based on a classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon so if Sin City is any indication its that Rodriguez knows how to stay true to the source material.

I just don't want them sticking her in there for some "grrrl power" type thing.

Spy Kids 1 is the only good one and what's great about it is that it's cool and doesn't try to be sappy immature junk like so many stupid 'kids' movies are these days. Kids movies don't need to be dumb to appeal to kids, I say.

Whoever is in charge of JQ hopefully knows that what kids crave is something new since they're exploring new things every day.

I only liked the first Spy Kids movie. I don't want to see Rodriguez direct Johnny Quest.:csad:

Will they go for a PG or a PG-13? I'd assume the latter since the shows got pretty intense, even with kids in the starring roles. I'd say about Small Soldiers level PG-13.

No, It'll probably be PG, but push the limit of it.
It's a family friendly film. National Treasure was PG, and it seemed to have the same feel that a Johnny Quest episode would whave.

If that guy from Lost wasn't playing Racer X, he'd be a PERFECT Race bannon! ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. Besides that news ancor Anderson cooper.

Fox as Race isn't a bad idea actually.
By the time this starts shooting, Speed Racer should be done.
He's the right age and has the right look.

What SL said.

I really like the sound of a Jonny Quest movie, but I really don't want it to turn out like Thunderbirds did. As far as age goes, I'd like to see Jonny at 16.
