Jonny Quest is Coming!

The question is...which version will be the inspiration for the movie?

Original Jonny Quest from the `60s

`80s Jonny Quest

or

Real Adventures *fingers crossed*

No, cause...

Jonny Quest = Quasi-cool, quasi lame cartoon.
George Clooney = Mega huge actor whose already saw the wrath of what happens when he stars in an adaption that turns out not so good which with the reputation of recent cartoon adaptions this has a very good chance of suckage.

If it's aimed at kids that won't even be an issue.

If the money is good and the right people are involved I'm sure they can get Clooney.

I hope it's the Real Adventures premise, but with a classic cartoon feel to it.
I wasn't the biggest fan of the VR stuff in the first season.

awesome... they could do great things with this movie, it's got such potential.

I'm shocked it has taken so many years. Of all the Hanna-Barbera cartoons this is the easiest to turn into a live-action movie. I've been saying that since 1994 when the live-action Flintsones movie was released. In fact my theory at the time was:

Scooby-Doo in `95
Jetsons in `96
Jonny Quest in `97

Instead we got a horrible Scooby-Doo movie in 2002. And thats about it. Everything else is in development.

:csad:

The classic Quest is great, but The Real Adventures was exceptionally good.

For some reason I want Bruce Campbell as Race. I somewhat evnsion Liam Neeson as Dr. Quest. Selleck would work, though.

Uknowns for Johnny and Haji. Not sure on who should play Jessie.

I'd prefer it take place in the 60's. But then if you have it take place a little bit after the series, you get the return of some classic enemies like the robot spy, the frog men, etc.

Eh. All she would be would be hot jail bait ass. :o

Like that's bad.

Now we need a good Hadji. Kal Penn when he was younger would have been gold, but a current young Indian actor from Bollywood would suffice.

Oh no...

The right time, just like with the simpsons movie, was to make this in the 90s when quest was still on the air.

It's too late now... And today's pool of actors are mostly talentless garbage from the Disney hyper happy kid bunch.

Please just do the right thing and don't poop all over johnny quest, hollywood. Leave classic toons alone! damn you! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh

I'm really serious. This is just going to be a soulless studio cash in like we've gotten most of the summer so far!

Actually, I'd be all for this if Robert Rodriguezioblablabla the spy kids guy directed it... hmmm

I would imagine Jessie being in this for the simple reason that they'd want to avoid the film being a complete sausage fest. They'd probably even add Jade as a villain.

Hans Zimmer for the composer, just to hear his take on the classic big band theme song.

My number one rule is: make this a period piece! Johnny Quest is in the same kinda universe as Indiana Jones, it´s about finding exotic lands in remote locations of the world, it´s about that sense of discovery that´s from that age, the thirties, forties.

Well, the show itself took place in the 60's, so it would be in the 1960's to be honest.
