all she really need is to have an outfit fitting like black widow/maria hill. In yellow/red and some sort of mask probably in line of how captain america's avengers costume was and there you go.
Oh, I'm hoping Spider-Woman's not in the show at all, personally. Can't stand her. I was talking about costumes for lady SHIELD agents in general.

ummm that isnt going to happen this is set within the marvel cinematic universe. If fury who more then likely will happen here and there(plus any computer/audio bits) it will be samual l jackson.

No its def the Hoff, have you not seen the movie?

The main reason movie and TV show costumes aren't exactly like comic costumes is because if they were that form fitting, they'd be the kind of clothes that only exist for the purpose of being sexual. And look stupid.

Heck, I actually really hate that costumes are that form fitting in the comics, it tends to look really stupid to me.

In Spider-Woman's case though, it was for that purpose. She was a Hydra agent and given pheremones that caused instant attraction in men (and alarm in most women). That was one of her abilities.

Hoff could play as Fury's Life Model Decoy. :hehe:

well i was just throwing out idea for spider-woman and her costume. And really we wouldnt need her right off the bat. But its a character they can get into at a later point if they wanted too. Plus be a way to get her into the mcu. If marvel wants the character to be, since its doubtful even as good marvel studios been going for them to do a solo female film any time soon.

So then why does she need a super sexy outfit? She could just wear a more practical outfit and let the pheromones do the work.

Fact is, that outfit would look completely ridiculous and be fairly sexist if it were 100% comic accurate on film. Not to mention very uncomfortable for the actor to wear and impossible to do any stunt work in.

well like anything there would be multi suits pratical/sunt suit for stunt folks to do what ever they need to. and then the "hero" suit that looks all pretty and there for small standing/moving scenes and all that.

Yeah, no big-name actress would ever wear a costume like that, because it's sexist and uncomfortable and impossible to do any stunt work in. :o

Yeah, because that movie certainly wasn't a steaming pile of ****... :o

Didnt she wear that for like one scene? And it involved water? Not a full time get up.

Is it really relevant either way? Tomb Raider in all its incarnations is pretty unabashedly exploitative. Core's developers pretty much admitted that they only cast the lead character as a female because they realized while making the first game that players (read: adolescent boys) would be staring at the character's butt for most of the game.

Didn't stop Angelina Jolie from making a movie that grossed $275 million, and which remains the *only* truly successful video game film adaptation out of scores of failures.

If Lara Croft can make $275 million in a getup like that, sexism and all, then Spider-Woman can, too.

Oh, we're talking solely about money? I thought we were talking about a costume that would potentially be respectful to both the character and women in general and not pander to horny 13-year-old boys. Silly me.

:applaud Exactly.

Would any one want spider-woman to be in the show. I do believe marrvel has rights to the character. And she has been assoicated with shield in past right?

Assuming Carol Danvers is a centerpiece, Jessica Drew would make a great rival for her, especially if she starts out working for HYRDA against the main cast. She'd be a great villain, have a great redemption arc, which would feed into a lot of great interrelationships. I'd like to see her for that reason.

I really can't see her wearing her Spider-Woman uniform for any practical reason though. If ogling her is just so important, give her a shower scene, but don't put her in an expensive possibly silly costume 'just cuz.'

Is Spider-Woman being played by Angelina Jolie? Then no, no she can't make $275 million, even if she only wears the getup for one scene like Angelina did. Why anyone would want Spider-Woman in all silver, I don't know.

What does the character wear in the comics? Refresh my memory, please. I must not have seen the part where Jess Drew is now wearing a burkha.

Whoever wants to see Jessica Drew in the movies wants to see Jessica Drew in the movies. If you give them somebody else, then it's not really Spider-Woman anymore, is it? I mean, why bother making the movie in the first place if you want to change the target audience from, you know, the people who actually WANT to see the movie to a group of people who DON'T want to see the movie....? TV series, whatever.

True, it would take a marquee name to get those box office numbers, like Angelina or Charlize or J-Law. But then, that's true of ALL female-fronted movies, isn't it?

Why anyone would want Spider-Woman in all silver, I don't know.

Facepalm, please, Captain.

Thank you, sir.

Have you not watched superhero movies though? People wanted to see X-men and they didnt get comic costumes. And majority of the public dont even know who she is. Maybe they could make a similar costume for her that is a mix between Spiderman/Black Widow but that is about all. She aint gonna get no skin tight spandex.

I don't see Spider-Woman being too well received honestly. I don't know much at all about the character but don't you think the GA would find it silly just given her names similarity to Spiderman? I dunno, I've always felt that way about the character until here recently but I really feel like the GA would totally be turned off by her at least as Spiderwoman

Ummmm... you know you can adapt a comic book hero to TV or movies faithfully and still change the costume, right? It's happened with pretty much every super hero movie ever.

Fact is, a 100% comics accurate costume, form fitting and showing off, and I quote the original poster here, "her curves and her boobs completely," it would look really stupid on screen and be wicked sexist. Like, not only would making sure the costume shows off "her curves and her boobs completely" be pointless, over the top sexualization, but everyone would be wondering why she was dressed like someone from circ de soleil when she's supposed to be assassinating people and fighting robots and stuff.

It wouldn't hurt the character to change the costume, especially if it's just to the point of keeping the same basic design but making it out of less silly and exploitative materials than tailored form fitting spandex.

Kind of agree with this.

Who actually wants to see a Spider-Woman movie? I think that thread made it five pages... on a superhero movie forum! So you, me and about ten other people are the only ones who give a crap about Spider-Woman being brought to screen faithfully - and maybe not even that, some of those people may have been willing to see the costume radically changed and adapted like most successful superhero movies do. Doesn't sound like a priority, doesn't sound like changing the costume is changing the character.

Hunger Games wasn't sold on J-Law's name, she doesn't pull in numbers like that in her other films, so, no ALL female-fronted movies aren't like that. Female fronted movies that treat their female characters like characters instead of pin ups find new audiences, and don't have to rely on miniscule comics fan audiences that don't support a character anyway.

Facepalm, please, Captain.

You said Spider-Woman could clean up in that same outfit. Are you saying you want her in a different outfit, perhaps more colorful, with different appeal? That would make your whole point irrelevant?

Right??? Like I'm open to the character and am interested in her. But why is her name even Spiderwoman? From the info I've heard she has nothing to do with Peter or anything in his world really. Makes no sense to me. Why is she even called that??

The answer to that is to focus on the things that make her different from Spider-Man. She's a genetic experiment raised to be an assassin by a group of neo-fascist terrorists. Focus on that part. The spider part becomes incidental after that.

Because she's a woman and she has spider related super powers. That's pretty much the logic behind it.

And heck, her powers even work differently from his. She doesn't use webs in any way and she has her own venom, and just like a female spider her body produces mind altering pheromones.
