Can we see S.T.R.I.K.E in this too?

STRIKE is just SHIELD with British accents. I'm pretty sure SHIELD is an international organization in the MCU, so that might be redundant.

MI-13, on the other hand, would be neat.

There Is decent chance actors Joss has worked with could be In running for roles here. This Is almost certinly a fall 2013 premiere.

Adam Baldwin punching people in the face for 22 episodes a season.

He can be an original character called Facepuncher for all I care!

I dunno, it says in the article that "production on the pilot will start immediately," so I think we're looking at a Fall 2013 debut.

Depends on the quality of the script and how big they make the show. Look at the Hulk series that has been in development hell or Terra Nova which was supposed to have their series premiere in May but was pushed back to
September due to post production. ABC is desperate enough to get this on the air for next September though. 22-24 episodes of SHIELD? A 13 episode order would be better.

What do you guys think of Agent Crimson being in the show? He was a supporting character in She-Hulk, an occultist who worked with SHIELD as a consultant on mystical stuff. He could be on the show as somebody studying Asgardian artifacts left behind after Thor and The Avengers who gets empowered by them.

I'd love to see some episodes that get into the supernatural side of the MCU, maybe we could get a run-in with Blade. Basically I see the format of the show being an ensemble focusing on a core group of Agents - Sitwell, Quartermain, Danvers, Woo, and Morse. Sometimes we get solo episodes with an agent, sometimes it is the whole group, sometimes it is just a couple and they are encountering a new superhero.

Apparently Whedon was doing some panel last night and said that his brother & his brother's wife will be the showrunners

Interesting, I assume it's Jed and his wife, who worked on Dr. Horrible, Dollhouse and the Avengers.

That's them.It was news to me they helped him out on the Avengers script. Also If It goes to series Angel Vet Jeffrey Bell will also work on show(he was day to day showrunner on last 2 seasons of Angel)

I imagine Maria Hill would be the possible lead with Sam Jackson's Fury showing up for important stuff.

This could be very intresting I can't wait to hear more Details about it.

I honestly didn't see this coming, I'm very excited to see where they go with this.

I'd rather have Coulson back as Vision, but I think it'd be too hokey. It's been said that this cinematic universe is trying to be as grounded as possible given alien gods, gamma monsters, and aliens from Titan.

:o

Something tells me that they are eventually going to throw that grounded idea out of the window. Especially since there is nothing grounded about these movies. They should honestly just go all out & have some fun

Throw in Maximiliano Hernández as Agent Sitwell as a supporting character along with Adam Baldwin, Amy Acker, and/or Alexis Denisof and call it a day.

You're right, especially since soon, that "grounded" excuse won't work with Winter Soldier coming into play as well as the members of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Whedon's going to cast Acker as Brand. It'll happen.

Amy Acker as major character Is show devolped by Joss, his brother, and sister In Law? I am so there for that.

That leaves one last character that's important for this kind of show: the "chief" or authority figure. Assuming that Fury and Hill are out of the question, I guess this will be presented as some kind of regional director, who reports to Fury or Hill offscreen. I guess GW Bridge belongs to the X-men franchise, otherwise he'd be a good choice. Not sure who could play that role, as my SHIELD knowledge is pretty much exhausted at this point.

I don't know that GW is confirmed for Fox/X-Men, so if he's available, I could definitely see Bridge as the leader of the TV version of SHIELD.

Why not Daisy Johnson? Or Dum-Dum Dugan? Or even Thunderbolt Ross?

Does the show really need a chief character, though? I mean, couldn't it be about a bunch of grunt field agents who get orders from cold, distant authority figures?

I knew it would be a SHIELD series. I'm betting they will take on C and below Villains...the really under-used ones in the comics that we would never see in a film. Which is fine with me!

All of those are good choices as well. I imagine that Ross would be needed for any future Hulk movies though, and Dum Dum would be very old by the time this series takes place. (I am assuming this show is part of the MCU).
