Captain Marvel Jude Law IS ????

So, which child actors will play the young Genis and Phyla? At some point Zemo is going to break out of The Raft and the Guardians will start searching for new recruits. The future Photon and Martyr are likely to appear since James Gunn said that the Guardians roster will evolve after the third film and it's liklely that Nikki Gold, Moondragon and Nova will join and you can't have Moondragon without Martyr.

At the same time, Zemo's new team of outlaw antiheroes is going to need some real powerhouses if they're actually bent on world domination. Photon is likely to show up in the Thunderbolts at some point or another since we already have characters who joined the team later on in the MCU (Ghost, Scorpion, Blizzard, Hyde, Shocker, etc)

I will say that I'd be shocked if Beetle isn't in the 2019 Spider-Man film and if Songbird doesn't appear sooner rather than later. I also hope that Marvel don't cancel the Netflix shows before Atlas can appear in Luke Cage.

Moondragon did fine for decades before Peter David ever wrote Phyla and I don't remember reading comic books with Moondragon in it back in the 80s thinking: "You know what this character needs? A relationship with a member of the Vell family!"

You can absolutely have Moondragon without Martyr

Jude Law he is playing Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts franchise and now he gets cast as Mar-Vell in Captain Marvel...it seems Marvel is pulling out all the stops...great casting choice as far as I am concerned

Not bad. I'm sure he can pull if off. Honestly Mar-Vell could've been any white guy, I'm just gonna be honest about it.

Solid casting. A known name but not a blockbuster leading man. Now the question is what the take will be? They mention him in a mentor capacity.

I honestly hope it isn’t some twist where the mentor is really in cahoots with the bad guy. We’ve had that with Obediah Stane and Alexander Pierce.

I would be disappointed if Mar-Vell weren't in cahoots with the bad guy, at least initially. Betraying his people to fight for earth is what he is best known for.

A poster on another message board (jokingly) suggested Jude would be playing Marcus. That would be one way to draw attention to the flick!

You can but that's like having peanut butter without jelly.

Yep, and I really prefer that over the love interest angle.

Awesome! I assumed Mar-Vell would be in this film as a mentor role. It only makes sense. I can't wait to see who they cast next.

I hope Law uses his own accent. Law's American accents aren't that good a lot of the time.

Both Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Richard Gere would have been inspired choices.
They could fill other roles in the future still. :cwink:
Law is less original but perfect IMO.

Jude Law is a fine choice and perhaps points to a little bit more involved role for Mar Vell which is all I ask. Don’t want some first 5-10 minutes and then dies type of role for him.

Have they, though? Valkyrie and Thor don't end up together in Ragnarok and Peter and Gamora don't end up together in GOTG2, but Homecoming still had a whole romance subplot with Liz and the ending made it pretty obvious they're setting up MJ to be the love interest in the sequel.

And I'm pretty sure the character Lupita Nyong'o is playing in Black Panther is a love interest as well.

The most they're doing is kinda acknowledging some characters have a thing for one or the other but there's no big kiss or sudden "let's become a thing" scene.

I just remembered that Scott and Hope ---Steve and Sharon did have a sudden "let's become a thing" kiss scene, that was a tad weird, but then they cut the Peter and Liz kiss scene, so I don't know..

Peter and Gamora were a couple by the end of GOTG2.

Strange and his former love didn't get back together. They are good friends though, I think they will remain that way. If Strange gets a love interest it would be Clea but I don't see it being mushy love.
