Urban has totally earned this, Dredd was the best adaptation we could hope for - and even grittier than the comics.

Does it have to be a 100% reboot? If he already knows anderson then you can leave it that the film was how they met. The film was just a day in the life for dredd and has little bearing on what comes next.
The city may need to be redone and the costumes/bike etc... but i doubt viewers would be too up in arms.
If the seasons are kept short then urban could still do films. Especially if it focuses on other judges and storylines as well.

We'll see, all talk at the moment.

If Urban becomes attached to this I'll be a hell of a lot more interested in this project. I was disappointed that his Dredd movie didn't do better at the box office, I actually quite liked it.

He said that he has had discussions with them and if the script provides a central role for Dredd, then, he would be interested.

I really don't see the difference here, wether they are "discussing" or "negotiating", both parts could just as well change their minds. Nothing is set in stone in either those situtations.
