Judge Orders Bakery to Serve Gay Couple

Personally I am against polygamy. However, if three consenting adults want to do it... honestly, I don't really care.

The Question, you believe not allowing incestuous marriage and polygamy is objectively wrong?

Yeah. There isn't as big a demand for it, so I don't think there's as pressing a concern. But there's no reason not to and some folks want it, so they should have it.

The only real concern with cousins or siblings hooking up is inbreeding, and not allowing them to get married isn't going to stop them from having sex so I don't see the point.

You don't do sarcasm, do you?

All of these responses, pedophilia, insist, polygamy... are old, and rather tired. I'm surprised you haven't brought up bestiality yet, actually.

The reason we oppose incest (beside it usually falling under pedophilia), is because it leads to inbreeding. We're also genetically predisposed against it, which is why it's so rare.

I take it when you say 'we'...you don't include The Question...he had absolutely no problem with incest. Do you think his position is more or less consistent than yours?

Furthermore, there are instances of relatives who separate and reunited to each other developing sexual attraction to each other. Would providing counseling in this situation be an example of "psychological abuse"?

I don't see the big deal about polygamy. It's marriage with multiple partners. Big deal. Less choice for the rest of us. :p It's happened all around the world for thousands of years. Many places have had a caste systems of wives for noblemen, like in Japan. They had a system where a man could marry multiple times for various reasons, politics, family responibility, ect.

Sentinel mind and Human Torch are the worst posters here. You two are not convincing anyone of your narrow-minded, bigoted worldview. You're just letting everyone know just how ignorant and misinformed you are. Congrats, no one is thinking any higher of you. In fact, they're probably thinking less of you.

That doesn't make you two martyrs, just unintelligent.

Cosmic...please try not to engage in personal attacks. Public shaming tactics don't work against me. I've already mentioned I don't care about popular opinion on this and other issues.

Hey Pinchy. Don't mind them. I enjoy using my debating skills on things like this. I tend to get ignored a lot though. :p

Also Pinchy how easily offended do you get about things? I have a picture I'd like your opinion on.

Cosmic, I've listed numerous research on how religious donate more to charity,...you have not disputed it or provided counter-research. Let's discuss positions supported with facts...not innuendo and personal slams for having different opinions.

I've already addressed it. Stop derailing the thread. You're so wrong about so many things, there's no point in debating you because you bring nothing to the table other than ignorance.

By we I mean society in general. Me and the Question disagree on a lot of things, though I can kind of see his point here... But again, I think this is a rather nonsensical topic.

I'm surprised you're aware of genetic sexual attraction. But those instances are quite rare, since it only works if they meet as adults (which means they haven't developed the physiological family bond most humans develop while growing up).

That's really just a side-effect of circumstance and assortative mating. You may have noticed though that a lot of people who discover that they have inadvertently married their sibling quickly get a divorce?

So yeah, counseling might be good. Honestly, I haven't give it much thought.

I don't get easily offended. I just hate stupid people who think its their right to judge.

What's this picture?

To best of my knowledge, you have not provided one sourced claim in this entire thread. If I'm mistaken, please point me to it.

Ok, well I appreciate you're open-minded to considering implications these type of court rulings will bring on society. Laws pertaining to relationships like these aren't going to be easier in future..it will be plenty more convoluted

So yeah, not surprisingly, everyone here is all for anything and everything anybody and everybody wants to do.As the old song says,Anything Goes.

Last time a society had that motto it was named Sodom & Gomorrah.

Not anything. Just what's consensual and doesn't hurt anybody.

I can see how that might be confusing though.

Nope. It's "anything goes as long as everyone is consenting and nobody is getting hurt." Otherwise known as "basic reasonable morality."

Last time a society had that motto it was named Sodom & Gomorrah.

Which probably didn't exist.

Oh I think it's all a legal nightmare, but we do pay people to take care of that.

Quite frankly the greatest thing that ever happened for lawyers was gay marriage.

They'll have a field day with polygamy.

Exactly.

I'm not surprised by Thunder's response...I think lot of gay right supporters focus issues piece by piece, looking at immediate instant gratification results but not well aware of history or looking at issues longterm implications. Sadly, some here are now open to opening Pandora's Box, treating it like a intellectual exercise...not knowing they are laying down pieces to society's ruin. It's sad...but we have to protect ourselves with the Word of God.

Don't be fooled...gay rights agenda is based purely on ..."if I feel like doing it, then it must be good and everyone should celebrate it" ...nothing that coronation around urges.

I just find it funny Torch has the' Location: In a world that swings!' as his profile in this thread. I know it has another meaning but :p
