Judge Orders Bakery to Serve Gay Couple

Seriously, though, the Bible may say it's a sin for two dudes to have sex (though it's worth noting that it never says it's a sin for two ladies to have sex), but it never says that two men or two women aren't allowed to marry each other.

That's because even back then it was hawt.

Hey, the Bible does say love your fellow man. Some of us take that more literally than others ;-).

I'm being facetious of course. I don't get very involved in the arguments of whether homosexuality is a sin/the Bible condemns it/it's still valid today, etc, because I really, really don't care.

From a "facts of the matter" standpoint, the baker is running a public business, not a church, and they were paying customers. Do all of us agree with the "lifestyle choices" of every customer we serve?

But I'm also not entirely comfortable with suing people into submission. It paints us (gays) in a bad light and gets some people off the fence and opposing us because we look like PC bullies.

QFT, Schloss

Personally, I think we should think about the person. As long as they do right by you, you should do right by them.

As for Sov, even if you TRY to castrate me, it'll just grow back :o luckily I retained the newt's awesome regenerative powers :oldrazz:

If you had made that movie these days then you'd be riding the sharks and beating them to death with your bare hands.

So are we going to act like Monica Bellucci in The Passion of The Christ wasn't hot?

IMO it was originally banned because the Jews were concerned about low population and sustaining their people, which homosexuality obviously was not conducive toward (no artificial insemination or sperm donors back in the day).

Which of course has absolutely nothing to do with anything g today...

I really, really doubt they banned it because gay Jews weren't pulling their weight baby making wise.

I think homophobia is the more likely answer, which is still relevant today.

Leviticus also bans:
-Having unkempt hair
-Tearing your clothes
-Drinking alcohol in holy places
-Mixing fabrics in clothing
-Eating fat
-Planting different seeds in the same fields
-Eating fruit from a tree withing 4 years of planting it
-Drinking blood
-Touching an unclean animal
-Failing to have salts in offerings to God
-Getting tattoos
-Not standing when around the elderly
-Cursing your mother and father (punishable by death)
-Working on the Sabbath

But Jesus undid a lot of the things mentioned in your list. He never tackled homosexuality and as a result, that sin is still in place.
Could you please note which ones were undone and the Bible verses that specifically state their undoing?

All of the laws in Leviticus were set for the people to follow to atone for the original sin and get into heaven. When Jesus died on the cross, those sins were forever forgive, which is why now we don't have to follow those rules. Christ's death did away with ALL of the old laws.

“The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to them,”
declares the Lord.
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
Jeremiah 31:31–34

28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Matthew 26:28

What in the blue hell does the sexual preference of the researcher got to do with the result. The man provided you with a number of sources to his claim, but because it didn't fit in with your sad demented warped world view you dismissed it as worth nothing, so why should we not do the same with what you claim, ohh I forgot everything you say is gospel truth, ohh bugger off.

You'd get more intelligent and active debate out of a stuffed corgi.

All the links point to one historian who has history of advancing gay agenda for obviously personal reasons found few records of few incidents were ceremonies took place that seemed to mimic a civil union between two individuals of same gender on appearance. I accept those record of ceremonies exist...that does not mean those ceremonies were deemed homosexual marriages in context discussed today, that they were authorized and recognized by most Christian leaders, and accepted by Christian doctrine. Acknowledging records of instances is not the same as what DJ was saying..."that they gay marriage was widely accepted and the early Christians had no problem with it". Please try focus on issues at hand without engaging in personal attacks.

Quite the thread to jump into for your first post, welcome to the Hype. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!! :woot:

I always love the term "gay agenda". It's like people have a problem with saying people wanting equal rights.

I have yet to see of any evidence whatsoever of any type of gay agenda. All I see is people who want to be treated as the same as everyone else.

people have a problem using the term because it seems has a negative connotation...but it is in fact an agenda...to normalize and promote homosexuality. It's appropriate terminology.

You could, by that logic, also cast aside any research done by straight researchers who point to evidence supporting straight marriage.

New poster gets a point for the first post being suitably dramatic. :p

Excellent first post! Welcome! We have a Jesus Christ Appreciation thread and several Christian groups, feel free to contribute, join.

Then there is also a Christian agenda, conservative agenda, Fox News agenda... The list could just go on and on.

I hear the gay agenda is full of splashes of colors. It's quite fabulous.

No, several records of Christian marriages that are consistent with Biblical doctrine. Finding few instances of business collaboration between two individuals of same gender and stretching that to be gay marriage seems sketchy....but its possible existence doesn't negate record Biblical doctrine.
