Also nice year for Dwayne Johnson.

Yep, $404m on it's way to $962WW. Will fall well short of that, but very respectable totals in their own right.

Yeah I genuinely thought this would do just as well as the first but I guess that was lightning in a bottle.

I’d say comparable. It doesn’t have the freshness of the last one since it’s a similar body swap comedy but the performances are all good. Kevin Hart is better this time as well and the action set pieces are really creative.

It was an enjoyable sequel for sure.

I guess the next movie will be going back to the orignal with elements of the game coming to the real world.

and the characters come out of the game, without a irl player playing the avatars, will they just revert to being NPCs an only talk in limited dialog? or? it would be interesting to see the characters/avatars true personalities

I was thinking about it too. My guess? The avatars made it to the real world as well and all the characters can interact with one another.

Also, I doubt it happens but imagine if that Dunst back for the next one

These Jumanji movies (both 2 & 3) are probably the best examples of reviving an old IP from the 80/90s.

Karen Gillan Still Hasn't Heard Anything about 'Jumanji 4'

While on Collider Ladies Night in celebration of her upcoming Netflix release Gunpowder Milkshake, Gillan offered a status update on the next Jumanji film:

“I actually don’t know anything about the next one. Nobody has spoken to me, so I think - I don’t know. I assume they’ll make one and I don’t know how they’re gonna tackle that. But I hope they make another one because it’s so much fun.”
