Jurassic Park IV - Part 1

Now if they were clever, they could have written it so that the Spino could have conceivably won. For example, make the T. rex go into a body of water.

See those little hands? Not made for swimming. The Spino is basically a crocodile on crack.

i saw the concept art. i would love to see those creatures as CGI from ILM in an original movie. they are very good designed.

JP3 couldn't hold up even when it was released. It was terrible from start to finish, imo.
Yep. Upon seeing it the first time in cinemas and every time since, it just feels flat and going through the motions. There's nothing extraordinary about it.

There's that one scene when Alan and the gang are on a boat on the river passing by some dinosaurs with the JP theme playing. Instead of being magical it was contrived and lame.

Probably because the FX sucked, Don Davis can't replicate Williams' theme worth of s**t and at that point the characters were an annoying joke.

Bizarre Concept Art From The Scrapped JURASSIC PARK IV

I gotta admit, I'm really digging that artwork !! But it always seems like the concept art is always better than the finished product. This wouldn't work as a JP movie, but as a new horror/sci/fi franchise, this could be a blockbuster. Too bad Hollywood is to busy remaking movies that were already hit classics, instead of coming up with interesting and new concepts.

Well on the comments section of the JP 3 T Rex Vs Spino fight video on Youtube, many people have said that the T Rex was not a fully grown one like in the previous movies. I guess its a quick explaination as to why the Spino could beat the T Rex but I am still not sold on that. I just think it was a lame way for the writers to set up the Spino as the main threat. Also, the spino being on site B was also a plot hole since I am sure Malcom and co or the INGEN guys would have encountered a Spino during the events of The Lost World.

Nah Im glad that project got scrapped. No way in a million years would people buy those designs and be expected totake the movie seriously. In a comic book movie, sure but not in a jurassic park movie where the lore is about dinosaurs themselves.

This is more or less correct. In one of the previous versions of the script, the film was to end with a Rex vs Spino fight where one and then two rexes get revenge on the spino and win. I don't remember if it specified which Rex was killed at the beginning, but it makes sense for it to be the younger one from TLW(even though it wouldn't make that much of a leap in size and maturiity in just a couple of years, but then again the Raptors wouldn't have developed feathers and entirely different appearances either so who cares).

That version of the script was awesome. I specifically remember Billy being a way better character, his death being awesome and permenant. Shame, really.

Anywho, I don't have anywhere else to post this really but figured I few people here might find it amusing.
This was a dinosaur related short I made for a contest on Super 8.. it was made in a single day and we couldn't edit or see any of the footage we shot, and the music was added blindly(which is why it's off in a spot or two).. views and criticism is appreciated!!

Just watched the first movie last night. It holds up really well. Even the CG looks great

Dino humans? What a stupid idea. Thank god it fell through. Crichtons books may be science fiction but they are based in some science fact. To take something like the first jurassic park and end up at that would have been a travesty.

Sounds like a made for TV movie for the Sci-Fi channel...

Would anyone else like to see a JP reboot where we were never supposed to know about the Park/Island? A huge government conspiracy type thing?

That's actually a 3D movie I'd be excited to go see. I'll probably have to check it out.

Nah. No reboots. The sequels were (though not great) awful to the point that there's nothing a solid sequel can fix. Now, if they were to remake them; for whatever reason, I'd want a closer to the source material adaptation.

Here's looking at you, TLW.

That poster is awesome. Hope to be able to display it.:woot:

They should put those concept arts to work in Super Mario Bros. II.

Did anyone else like JP3 MORE than TLW? (Not that I hate TLW far from it).
