I love how Marvel are never sore losers. They dont hesitate to congratulate other studios.

I think due to the internet we have a lot more followers than leaders these days. If someone says something online, even if someone disagrees about 10 more will follow simply because you worded it in a catchy way.

see, but you're a big fan, and someone who grew up on it, and even you say you were "pretty satisfied"; not exactly a glowing review

so how in the hell is this breaking records??
maybe comic fatigue is a real thing, and people wanted an old school monster movie, idk, I don't get it

Its a good family film. Parents who liked or love JP were able to bring their kids to this movie and watch them experience dinosaurs on the big screen for the first time. My screening was full of kids and not a one of them were rowdy. They were glued to the screen. They liked Blue. They liked Owen. They liked the action. They had fun. It was the same for the older audience members. And a movie that can appeal to a wide range of ages and doesnt pander to children is going to do well. Tack on the nostalgia for anyone who loves the original and you've got a guaranteed success.

If only their devoted fans could be the same way. :o

It's a big budget action movie that doesn't require the GA to have watched 9 other movies to feel "in on it" and makes them feel like kids again, just giving them a good time with thrills and laughs. What's not to get?

And while I personally preferred both AoU and especially Mad Max, both my showings of JWorld had enthusiastic applause at the end, while none of my MM shows have, and only one of my AoU shows has. People are coming out of this one happy for sure, imo.

Pretty much! Same thing in my screening.

Just you watch Devil Dinosaur come in the next Marvel film. XD

I know that for me & and my friends it just gave us the feeling of being a kid once more and sitting in the theater with gleeful amazement over what we were seeing. For us they took something that we all adored when were all small and paid great respect to it while also giving us some really cool and fresh stuff like what they did with the raptors and seeing a functional park finally. I liked the characters and wasn't waiting for them to die (except for the ones you were supposed to want to die) which I can't say about the lost world or Jurassic Park 3, and it also brought the wonder of seeing dinosaurs back, which I haven't felt since the original. It gave me everything I wanted to see in a Jurassic Park sequel and I think that's why it is doing so well.

For me , it was an amazing theatrical experience.
It wasn't just the film.
EVERYBODY in the audience was into it .
I was talking and laughing with total strangers.
That kind of experience is why I go to the movies .

Yeah the bitterness is strong with certain people.

The fact is the opening weekend record was never a sign of quality. It wasn't a sign in 2012, it isn't one now and it won't be in the future.

Kevin Feige has tweeted this amazing picture, congratulating the cast and crew of Jurassic World on their record breaking opening weekend.

This is why Marvel is awesome. Love the hammer showing that JW is worthy.

Reminds me of the picture George Lucas sent to Cameron after Titanic conquered the box office.

It also serves as an amusing reminder that people who have vested financial interests in these films and are actual competitors are more cordial and friendly about it then basement dwelling, pouty manchildren (and womenchildren) who project their childish fanboy wars onto these people.

Good post. Here are those drawings.

Lol, who's bitter now? You also reduced Marvel's nice gesture towards JW to nothing more than marketing for Chris Pratt when they're clearly just following a classy tradition, as you'll see in the pictures above.

Just got back. Really enjoyed this. Give it a solid 8/10

All of my posts speak for themselves and I don't believe my recent posts need any clarification.

There really isn't much reason for us to be conversing honestly because I think we are kinda hostile to one another and I don't feel like getting into yet another disagreement with you. I don't personally know you so you might be a super cool guy in real life and I wish you good luck in your life but I don't see us getting to a place in which I eagerly await your thoughts and opinions of films and film related matters.

I am SO getting this. This is from the Jurassic Park FB and the link given brings you to a Pre order on Amazon. I want that statue set so badly. :hmr:

My Review I Finally Saw It...

Jurassic World was generally speaking an entetaining film. I had a fun time watching it and Chris Pratts performance as well as all the other actors was undoubtedly great. The CGI was pretty well done as well. Score fits the film to a tee. Comedy was well placed and made me laugh.

I liked the Raptor/Owen relationship and genuinely felt worried when they turned on him and happy that despite the I-Rex's manipulation Blue remained loyal. It was not without errors. How the hell did the I-Rex kill that entire herd of apotosaurus's so close to each other? Was he just that fast that it jumped from one to the other and none of them could get a far distance away(small nitpick but I kida had to nitpick). I refuse to believe that the I Rex could actually survive that RPG blast. I mean I understand the armor is thick but being shot at all this time by helicopters and **** had to weaken her to some degree, so the RPG shot should have killed her. Her surving was just ******** imo. I-Rex was well protected by its plot armor up until that whole Mososaur MKO with the I-Rex.

I'm not gonna lie, when that raptor got blown up I laughed. I laughed really really hard. That **** just came outta no where. But then I looked at Owens face and felt bad. But then I thought about how sudden that explosion was and laughed again. I imagined the dinosaurs talking every time for example when T-Rex saw I-Rex I imagined this.

T-Rex: Um, what are you?
I-Rex: I'm Indominus, I'll be taking your place as queen.
T-Rex: You *****!
*Battle, when Rex wins*
T-Rex: I hate cheap knock offs.

Also Owen to Blue.

Owen: Don't do it man.

In the end it was all mostly great. Nice to see Rexy take her Island back. This movie was good, compared to the past ones? I dare say it's even better than the first JP. 9/10

Compare this T.Rex to what we got on JW. I wish they didn't get rid of animatronics.

Then again, they ditched pretty much everything that makes a quality movie.

I can't find it, have you got a direct link?

Finally saw this movie, and...

I LOVED it. Fantastic. I went in with some doubts but man, I really had a fun time with it. Worth seeing again.
