Jurassic World - Part 10

I thought the whole cast was likable honestly. I enjoyed this more then AOU, mainly cause the story seemed more focused and there wasnt all this extra stuff shoved in your face. It was more of where is the story now film it.

I agree. It didn't try to do too much at once like AoU. It knew what it was trying to be and focused on being just that.

Maybe it's because his character was the only interesting one.

In the film or in the last few summer films in general?

My LEGO Jurassic World game arrived yesterday :woo: me & sis started playing it (didn't get very far, just through the 'prologue' of getting the raptor into the pen/the dig site and the first JP 'mission' at the park with the triceratops)... looking forward to playing more when I get home from work today :woot:

Alexandra Daddario and Kate Upton know what's up.

Yes that was one of my favourite parts of the film. Really cool to see Ankylosaurus get some action. I'd have liked to see how it or Stegosaurus, Triceratops or a sauropod would get on against a smaller carnosaur. Maybe have multiple herbivores against a carnosaur if necessary. Let them win one for a change. :woot:

The Vegosaurus may be our best ally in the war against Igen! :D

I smell crossover! :o

:wow: What is that from?

Saw this last night and thought it was fantastic. It's easily the best film in the franchise since the original. I haven't had this much fun with a summer blockbuster in a long while.

Exactly. Fun as can be. One of the best endings I've seen for a summer action movie. Dat nostalgia at the end was glorious. :woot:

I saw this yesterday. I enjoyed it and had some great fun. Likable characters mixed in with awesome Dino action. My crowd really enjoyed it as well. Nice to see it's making bank!

Anyways, here's my ratings for the series as a whole.

Jurassic Park-10/10
Jurassic World-8/10
The Lost World: Jurassic Park-7/10
Jurassic Park III-6.5/10

Very classy Tweet by Feige with the funny picture. I like how T-Rex is holding Thor's hammer, haha.

Jake Johnson's character stole the show at my screening.

"Why'd you have to make it personal?" :lmao:

If it only drops 50% in its second weekend, like The Avengers, $500 million is guaranteed.

$500m is already locked. It made almost as much on Tuesday as it did on Monday. Total is already close to $260m after 5 days. By the end of the weekend it will likely be past $380m. Just to give perspective, here is the 10-day chart:

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/grossbydays.htm?days=10&p=.htm

Worst case scenario would be the 10-day total is 72% of its final total just like Potter 8 or Fast 7. In that scenario from a $380m 10-day opening, it would end up at $527m.

But it is not showing anywhere near the frontloading that those two movies did. Odds are it will finish well north of $550m and has a decent chance at $600m.

Obviously Inside Out is gonna take this weekend, but it's pretty much moot right now.

Daddario is so hot :hmr: ugh I'm having flashbacks now to her in True Detective.

It looks a lot like the confrontation of King Kong and the V-Rexes in King Kong (2005).

I thought it looked familiar, good eye man.

I loved the bit where he said he was staying behind and got up to get the heroes kiss off the girl he worked with and she put her hand out and said "I'm dating someone" :funny:

That part was funny hahaha

Yeah, not to open up a can of worms, but I think it's better than AoU. Star Wars will kill everything though (fingers crossed).

Do you like JW more than GOTG?

The record should not last, SW:TFA should break it easily with even more hype, unless something is terribly wrong with this world.

Sometimes the BO is unpredictable, no one thought this movie was going to have a bigger opening than AoU, the question is, will it make more overall? It could, but we'll see. But yeah, dinosaurs and the F&F gang beating the Avengers, a sign of a little superhero fatigue? Maybe, but that's how it starts: a sequel making less than expected, more mixed reviews... time will tell.

Actually I think Inside Out will be number 2. I will be surprised if Inside Out beat Jurassic World.

JW will top the box office again, probably high $90M+. Disney/Pixar should do their usual $60M-$75M opening for Inside Out.

What is Inside out tracking at? I can never underestimate a Disney movie and from the sound of things this movie could be the best Disney animated movie since Toy story and so maybe it could be the next frozen. I don't think any one had frozen making what it did. But at the same time frozen didn't have a big first week it just didn't drop off much week from week so it staid in theaters a lot longer then movies normally do. Most movies are in theaters for about a month and a half around where I live where frozen was in theaters for like 4 months and that is by far the longest I can remember a movie being in theaters around where I live.

I think JW is way better then GOTG and I don't think there is any like superhero fatigue going on. AOU is still doing great even if it is down a little from the first one. JW is the first Jurassic movie in 14 years I think people underestimated how much anticipated that made for this movie and I think it is the first Jurassic sequel that people consider good is a big reason for this movie doing what it is doing. Superhero Fatigue is just BS. Yes Avengers made more then AOU but it was consider a better movie so it probly had more people that where doing repeat views then AOU and avengers had being the first like team up superhero movie so that created a lot of anticipation so even if the movie had suck it would have made a lot of money. Batman/superman is going to make a lot of money even if the movie is really bad because it is the first time having batman and superman together on the big screen.

There are certain films that feel more like events when you go see them...not just "going to see a movie". Hard to explain. Like, if I go see say...Spy. It feels like just going to a movie. But when I go see Star Wars, or the next big Marvel film or in this case Jurassic World it feels more like a big event.
