If there's hundreds/thousands of women who can run a marathon in heels, then BDH can outrun an aged T-Rex in them. Because she's just that good. :D

I loved how the death of the I. rex was reminiscent of my favorite scene from the original Walking with Dinosaurs.

Ive seen women run in high heels. Just depends on the woman, how often she wears them, and her balance. Some can do it and some cant.

Heels or not no human is going to outrun a Rex no matter what sort of foot wear the person wears. The Rex's stride is too large for a human to outpace it. So in real life she would have been kibble even if she had bee nwearing the best track shoes money could buy.

I keep seeing people saying Howard's character was sexist. Can someone explain how Howard's character was sexist?

Do people know what sexist means?

Well, ya see, anytime a female character does anything remotely resembling something a female might do its apparently sexist. BDH wears a nice outifit...thats sexist. Never abandons her only pair of shoes in a jungle thats covered in broken twigs and other pokey and uncomfortable debris...thats sexist. She screams...thats sexist. Shes dedicated to her job...thats sexist. Not good with kids...thats sexist. Shows fear...well obviously thats sexist. Shows interest in a very handsome single man...by gawd thats the mostest sexist thing evahhhh!:o

She is a classic sexist stereotype of a business woman. The idea that she isn't is ridiculous. It is nice when everyone here enjoys something, that is fine. But it doesn't change that blindingly obvious fact.

Who cares? It's a damn movie about dinosaurs being brought back to life. And yet some of you want to worry about her running around in heels. Not realistic or believable damn you BDH! Who gives a **** haha
Those asking about it probably care.

Is there a reason you need to be so hostile about it? You like it, great. You made it pretty obvious that you were going to like it beforehand. But if people want to talk about something they found odd, doesn't mean you need to attack them.

new video showing the creation of the Apatosaurus. :)

I think Howard is a talented actress who was given a pretty poor character. If the character works at all it's because of her.

I didn't find anything sexist about her character. I don't see how some got the idea that because she's a serious business woman that's sexist...it was no more different than the thousands of films where I've seen guy characters portrayed much less the same way.

Idk, I just had absolutely no problem with her and then to later on see all the "criticisms" toward her character was laughable.

I find that some people latch onto buzzwords when coming up with complaints. It's usually a buzzword someone else said and they latch on to it.
"Oooo Joss Whedon said she's sexist so it must be true".

That's a great way to put it because I, for the life of me, couldn't figure out how she was sexist. Especially not when her character is so integral & does so much in the course to fix the mess she helped create.

Her being a serious business woman isn't a problem. But they don't portray her as a serious business woman, she is a stereotype of a serious business woman. Incapable of having fun, no time for children, always in control. It takes a crisis and a handsome man to make her see the light.

She's the classic Mr. Banks character archetype that is frequently used for both businessmen and businesswomen in way too many films to count.

Depth of character isn't this film's strong point.

I think the issue can be summed up as the film is filled with cliched characters portrayed by excellent actors, and since the clichès for Howard's character type have very few counter examples, what is in one point of view an acceptable characterization for an individual in one movie becomes in another just one more reinforcement in a fairly sexist archetype.

People can be a little stiff, cold, and in need of loosening up, and those people can be businesswomen, but being a businesswoman does not mean the character should immediately be a little stiff, cold, and in need of loosening up.

Most of the characters are ridiculously cliche. D'Onofrio probably fairs the worst. He plays the exact same 'let's use them as weapons' villain that seem to be in most of these films. The movie would have been better without that character at all.

True, but that isn't a general used stereotype to demean or insult men. It was also balanced out by Pratt's cliche.

He was one of the few people I didn't particularly enjoy from JW. I thought he didn't feel like a complete character, per se, and was pushed too far one way.

D'Onofrio's first scene killed him. He went too hard, way too fast. Only a pushy movie villain would be that OTT.

This is one problem with the first two acts imo. There was plenty more to do, to explore, but they seemed a bit more focused on getting to the fun.

He had ONE scene I liked. The one where he talked about the wolf that he befriended. Other than that he was useless.

He also only really had a single role in the plot, the decision to use the raptors to hunt Indominus. And that decision could have been easily reached by other means. Other than that he adds nothing but needless backstory. He could have been completely cut from the movie and it wouldn't have changed much at all.

And yes, I groaned when I saw this character in his first scene because it is so incredibly cliche and I knew exactly where it was going to be leading.
