I don't know anything about Owen other then he's "badass."

Sorry. Nothing that makes him interesting then lol. He's all of those things in the start and end of the move. Zero character development. He was a Navy Seal.
LOL.
He's confident, assertive, comfortable in his own skin (I think I'm repeating myself), has empathy for animals (the way he caressed that dying brontosaur), ...
I think the caressing of the dying brontosaur scene, along with the little pen where the kids were riding the baby dinosaurs.
I must admit that although I do have problems unrelated to nostalgia that make me dislike the movie, I will admit that I just don't feel like a jurassic Park movie should ever be made without the original cast. Like the poster above me said, I grew up with Grant, ellie etc. So I miss those characters. Especially considering this sequel took place on the original Island it would have been great to see everyone from the original reacting to John hammonds dream finally being realized and how they would react to seeing these new Dinos and being reunited with the original Rexy who saved their lives in the original.
Would have loved to see what all the original characters thought of the Park being finally fully realised.

I would certainly agree with this. I just don't think it's good storytelling. He has no character development as he is already the embodiment of perfection at the start of the movie. You cannot develop further from excellence.
The arc belongs to the character of Bryce Dallas Howard, who starts off as shrill and uptight but gradually learns, in the space of less than one day, to become a lot more like Chris Pratt's character. At the end of the movie, on the following day, they are boyfriend and girlfriend.

She also saved him twice, once from that flying dinosaur and the second time by releasing the T Rex so the two Rex can face off against each other. She's definitely the protagonist of the story, and got more character development than Chris Pratt's character. It made Joss Whedon's criticism of her character rather idiotic now, especially since he made those comments without seeing the movie.
Did anyone else feel like this was more Bryce's movie and everyone else including Pratt were kind of the co-stars considering the arc she had?
I saw the Lego version of Jurassic World on the video game, Lego Jurassic World. I rate this movie 10 stars. After seeing the Lego version, there's no point on seeing the hollywood version.
Pros:
1. No romance
2. No character development
3. Ton of action with dinosaurs and running away from dinosaurs
Yeah I wish T-Rex didn't go down like 5 seconds after showing up. But it didn't take away from the ending.
I would have loved to see a I-Rex/Spino fight. They both have long snouts, which is a definite advantage over T-Rex.
Also feel bad for Blue. She's a raptor without a pack now.
