Yeah I wish T-Rex didn't go down like 5 seconds after showing up. But it didn't take away from the ending.

I would have loved to see a I-Rex/Spino fight. They both have long snouts, which is a definite advantage over T-Rex.

Also feel bad for Blue. She's a raptor without a pack now.

I think Indominus would have demolished Spino easily.

Heck, even the T-Rex (THIS one) in her prime would put up a great fight.

A T. rex would likely beat a Spinosaurus more often than not. Don't let the size difference fool you. Tyrannosaurs were smarter, faster on land, stronger, and had a more powerful bite.

The rex being saved by the raptor from a 'finish him' move was a bit strange, and the moment of 'friendship like' contact between rex and raptor was even weirder.

I didn't see it as them being friends afterwards. Any other time, they'd be territorial and probably confront each other, but they both saw Indominus as a real threat. They were also too exhausted to continue fighting after the Indominus was taken out even if they wanted to. I saw it more like the scene in Pulp Fiction where Butch saves Marcellus from the bikers in the pawn shop.

There's a lot of evidence that pretty much seals the deal that Spino had to use all 4 legs.

T-Rex knew her only shot to beat Indominus was biting her throat/neck and using her own head to damage I-Rex.

When she slams I-Rex into the tall building then throws her down by the throat? Dear Lord... TAKE IT ALL

Agreed again. The T-Rex was pretty much the ultimate predator. It had sensors in its feet that alerted it to any animals in the area within a 4-10 mile radius. Their bite, despite being immensely powerful, was especially deadly because of the bacteria they carried.

So, in all fairness, the Spinosaurus would've eventually become infected from the fight with the T-Rex (which it should've lost anyway).

Yeah - the Indominus was created to be over and above the capabilities of nature's most ferocious creatures.

They probably would have snapped or snarled at each other if it were more realistic, but neither was in any position or had any need to fight so they probably wouldn't have. Animals usually only fight if they are hungry, protecting their territory, or asserting dominance in a group. The I. rex is a very serious threat to a T. rex. A single Velociraptor isn't.

So while realism probably didn't factor into the decision of the filmmakers at all, I don't believe this particular decision to be that unrealistic.

My thoughts:

1. I-Rex was okay, but I thought it was a little unbelievable how they conveniently bred it with animals that just happened to give it qualities such as heat control (to avoid the sensors) and camouflage capabilities. I understand they were building a predator, but it still seemed awfully coincidental and a stupid decision on the part of the scientists.

2. I wanna know how the hell this park was allowed to open in the first place! I realize that bringing back previous characters was not happening, but I'd still think that Malcolm, Grant, Ellie, and he'll, even Billy and the family from JP3 would all be leading some charge against it. Does nobody remember San Diego anymore? Wouldn't there be citizen groups putting this thing in litigation for decades and decades?

3. The kids were exceptionally stupid and frankly I didn't really like Bryce's character, her assistant or the parents.

4. Releasing a T-Rex to get rid of an I-Rex is kinda like using a Croc to destroy a Gator. I find it difficult to believe anyone would actually try that plan, and if they did, they'd probably die.

They can handle a T. rex far more easily than the I. rex. Even in the original film (and book), the raptors were considered to be the much greater threat. Roland took a male T. rex down by himself in TLW.

Ummm, not at all. Spinosaurus's long snout is designed for catching and eating fish. Likewise, I-Rex has the skull shape and jaw profile of a carnosaur (not the species, but the general group that includes allosaurs and carcharodontosaurs), which is designed for slashing the flesh of large, unarmored sauropods. T-Rex's jaws are specifically designed for attacking armored, aggressive herbivores and for fighting other carnivores, so as to steal kills away from them. There is no advantage.

I was thinking more in terms of reach. At least how it's been presented in JP3 and JW, T-Rex had a disadvantage when it came to reach.

I didn't find it to be unrealistic either, especially considering the titanic battle that took place before it. Any smart predator is going to conserve energy & not expend it unnecessarily. Both the T-Rex & Blue were following that notion.

That's probably true to be honest. And one of the best story elements in the movie by far. The meta commentary was great.

Saw this today. I'll give it an 8/10. It was enjoyable, but for me it felt too colorful for a Jurassic Park movie until the end. I loved the little nods it had from the first film.

I really liked the monorail in this film. That's another part of what sold me on this being a successful, functioning park. It's just like Disney World, going over to Animal Kingdom from Epcot, for example. But with much more stunning scenery.

Would have liked to see some kind of action sequence on the monorail.

When I first saw the film, I thought the track was going to be damaged in some way. But it didn't happen. The park was actually left relatively unscathed, minus the main street fight at the end.

Got a big reception at my screening. Pretty damn funny.

Yeah, as much as I loved the film, I felt there were some wasted opportunities for some set pieces.
