Jurassic World - - Part 11

No, it's not a lock for $2B. #3 worldwide seems like a good bet, though.

I think you mean 2nd or even first. It's already 3rd, and looks prime to surpass AOU and very likely Furious 7 if it keeps up. Next week though, is probably going the first week it's not #1.

^ I think flickchick's referring to #3 worldwide of all time, not of the year

Yeah, $2 billion is definitely not a lock. Personally, I think it could make it there but it's certainly no guarantee. It all depends on what kind of legs JW has in the coming weeks. If things remain consistent, knocking Titanic off its perch may be something that's in motion.

No way it will reach $2 billion. Unless it makes some crazy business in Japan. Because that's the only major market is still has to open in, I think.

Is this better than the original Jurassic Park film? Where would people rank this out of all the Jurassic Park films?

If it does anything like Frozen in Japan, then hold on to your pantaloons George Washington.

2B WW? Can it really do that? 1.5B would be great.

2B would require the Japan BO to be enormous, but it's not impossible. I'm just curious if it can become the 2nd highest grossing movie of all time.

Japan has very eclectic taste in our movies. They love Ted over there, they also loved Transformers.

Hope that $500m figure holds with actuals.

I say it's right behind JP, it's the best of all the sequels and it's the second best film in the series after the original.

Going to see this again tomorrow night, really looking forward to seeing it again.

Your wish is fulfilled. Weekend went up $300,000 with actuals from $54.2m to $54.5m. :woot:

Excellent, that was an important record. This thing always seems to outdo estimates!

It is a cool record. $500m after only three weekends in theaters. I'm hoping it can go past Titanic's $658m total when it's all said and done. Seems to be tracking for around $680m at the moment, but we will have to see how it holds up against all the new movies the rest of the summer.

No.2 all time domestic would be great. Has the overseas figure been updated? Don't see it on BOM.

Awesome! So $1.245B altogether.

Just my two cents but I barely remembered the first as... I haven't seen it!

I thought as a newcomer, it was really solid, defiantly makes me wanna watch past films.
