Just bought a DS

Truth be told I see just as many games that I want to play on the PSP as I do for the DS. There might be two or three game difference, but not a huge difference to be honest. I mostly went with a DS because I could find them a lot cheaper on eBay.

The problem is the touch controls. I feel more confident with the touch controls when I'm not holding it at awkward angles or worrying about both hands shaking when I'm trying to do power moves in Sonic Chronicles rather than just one. I played Gunstar Heroes mostly lying down and I never had a problem because I was pushing buttons that stayed in one place and not worrying about whether my stylus' tip was actually inside the circle I was supposed to be tracing or whatever.

I've found it depends on the game. I recall one game I played that I would put it on my desk and my neck would hurt leaning over. One game I know that it wasn't a problem for me was Star Fox Command.

I never had a problem with any neck pain or hunching over, maybe it's cuz I don't play touch screen heavy games. Who knows...

I'm playing GTA: Chinatown Wars currently in between playing my 360, however I am worried about the poor selling of the mature games on the Nintendo. I hear they aren't doing so well and really don't want to get a PSP Go for my mobile mature games. :(

I had same concern, but I found that the DS has a decent collection of mature games:

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Call of Duty: World at War
Dementium The Ward
Resident Evil: Deadly Silence
Contra 4
GRID
Moon
C.O.R.E
Touch the Dead

Is it a huge list of games? Not really; they're mostly FPS games. I own the first 5 on this list and I'd say they're pretty violent and for gamers looking for less gimmicky, kiddish Nintendo games. I think it's decent enough if you are looking for portable games that cater to hardcore gamers or more mature tastes.

I just bought Hotel Dusk off eBay for 8 bucks. So looking forward to playing that. In between that and playing through The World Ends With You again I think I'll be set for awhile. I'll mostly definitely pick up Metal Slug 7 and Sonic Chronicles: Brotherhood Darkness (or whatever the rest of the title is) soon

Ahh, good call with Hotel Dusk. That was probably my favorite game I had for mine.

I heard a lot of good things about it, and the whole idea of an 'interactive novel' really interests me. I'm always up for giving stuff like that a solid chance

So The World Ends With You, is it any good??? I'm looking for a new interesting game to play

Oh yeah, I absolutely love it. It does have a curve, though, but overall I think it's pretty awesome.

Cool thanks Teardrop. I'm looking for a new, interesting DS game that'll give me a bit of a challenge. Alot of the games I've picked up have had the difficult set with children in mind

It's not too hard or anything, but when you get into battles you have to control the top and bottom screens. The top screen with the D-Pad/buttons and the bottom with the stylus. You have to constantly be looking back and forth and it kind of throws you into a really different mindset then usual. At first it's like WTF, but once you get into the groove it's really fun

Well it sounds plenty interesting. I'll have to pick it up

I hear it's pretty amazing, but it doesn't look like anything I'd be into. Maybe I might give it a shot if it comes down in price.

I'm pretty sure you can pick it up brand new for 20 bucks now, I got it for 10 used at Blockbuster. I really don't think it's going any lower than that.

I bought GTA: Chinatown Wars a couple of days ago. The dialogue in the cutscenes is funny as hell. I've only played a tiny portion of it, but it seems like a great game.

I'm still addicted to The Dark Spire...I occasionally think about it while I'm at work.

When I bought GTA, I had originally intended to buy Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, but I'll probably just check it out later.

I'm gonna be picking up The World Ends With You on either monday or tuesday. There's a new game comin out this month called Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor.

Looks interesting, was wondering if any of you have heard anything about it...

I haven't heard anything directly about it, but most the Shin Megami Tensei games are pretty good. They just have a really stiff learning curve and can sometimes devolve a little too much into level grinding. Though there almost always worth playing if you're into older school JRPGs

Ah well I'm new to the JRPG genre. Actually I'm new to all RPG outside of Pokemon, but the screenshots I saw on gamespot.com looked pretty cool. I'll probly pick this up

I would suggest at least trying though they do tend to be pretty hard and sometimes, for me anyway, there's just too much level grinding. They are usually almost always of good quality despite that

i don't mind difficulty as long as the game is a good quality game. I like great visuals and story so a little bit of difficulty doesn't throw me off usually. Some games are way too easy (lookin at you Mario&Luigi Partners in Time)

Then I would think you would enjoy the game. Usually the SMT has at least an engaging story and solid gameplay. It's kind of a series that for whatever reason is stuck in a more niche market, never really understood why

I appreciate all your input Teardrop. I'm desperately seeking some good interesting games for my DS, pokemon can only do so much

GTA on the DS is amazing! I can't believe they managed to deliver a GTA experience on the DS that doesn't feel like a compromise on the console versions, it literally has everything the consoles do, and even more. Might be the best GTA out there. It's hilarious as well. I sense so much sarcasm in the conversations.

Well, in fairness, they had the first two GTA games for the PC to build on. That's all Chinatown Wars is: an expansion of the top-down gameplay they refined in those first two GTA games, which was incredibly fun despite being technologically unimpressive by today's standards.
