Just Cause 3

I have been reading that the technical performance of this is pretty poor across all platforms. Digital Foundry did their analysis and said that even the PC version has major loading and framerate issues. Could be related. How big is the patch?

2.695 GB or something. The loading to get into the game was pretty ******.. But now that I've put N hour into it? Hoooooly ****. Insane off the wall action.

That's the tradeoff. You go make a grilled cheese or something while it updates and then you reap the harvest.

Alrighty alot of review came out putting up a few both video and written.

Just Cause 3
Review
It's a lot of fun to shoot at things

and then watch them explode in Just

I've never played a Just Cause game before, but I decided to give this a shot. And I'm...disappointed. Excluding the absolutely horrific load times, this gave feels "cheap" to me for lack of a better word. The graphics are fairly poor for this generation, the gun mechanics are awful. Story and voice acting is weak at best...it's all just kind of boring and a bunch of mediocre traits surrounded by explosions. I don't know, I'm just not feeling the game so far. Granted, I haven't played much yet, so hopefully it'll get better; I paid for it so I'm going to try and get my monies worth.

You go into Just Cause to make your own fun. If you're not prepared to do that.. It's going to be a let down.

That said I think the graphics are pretty nice for as big as the damnworld is. The water.. Emm.. The water.

Just Cause is a Sci-Fi channel movie.. If Sci-Fi did Michael Bay. Just blow **** up.

Are the load times bad all around or just for PC?

Yeah, to be fair, I guess I'm still in the training missions, but all this is just my initial impressions. I imagine things open up more after that.

Did you know David Tennant was in Just Cause 3? Well he is…

Game crashed so hard for me it deleted the install.... wt actual f. Took it back.. got Witcher 3 on sale (had it on my Deadbox One...)

I rented this yesterday and played for a few hours. The load times really are bad. They absolutely hurt the momentum of the story and of the game in general. Every time you die, load a challenge, start a mission, etc. there are load times that feel much too long.

Besides that, the game is fun. It does kinda feel like a 360 game, which isn't really a terrible thing. The wingsuit/grapple/ parachute combo is very smooth and enjoyable. I could see the game getting pretty repetitive though.

That being said, Best Buy is having a Buy 2 get 1 free sale next week and I have some reward points so I might pick it up.

So, two XBox gamers say it's buggy on that system.
Wonder if other ports share certain problems.

To be fair, all games get repetitive.

JC2 has a few tasks repeated for 120+ hours to complete the game 100%.
The only time it has in-game load time -from what I experienced- comes during fast transport from one area to another.

Expected a lot more out of Avalanche. Too bad.
This.

I had JC3 on my PS4.. originally had Witcher on my XB1 (until it died.) I should have clarified that.

Seems like most are saying the issues aren't constrained to a particular title and is something that plagues all versions of the game

What I hear about bugs in this one reminds me of Arkham Origins when it was new.

These games are not known for quality when it comes to story or voice acting, they hire stereotypes and wrote intentionally bad stories for the sake of giving the series a B-action-movie feel.

I felt the way you did about the second game for a while, took me a while to get used to it and find fun.

Can loading times even be fixed with a patch?

I'm curious because I'm thinking of passing altogether because I don't want to buy now and hope it gets better later, only to see it barely gets better, if at all.

I'm gonna pass for now and see if the load times get shortened up.

I have the game but I haven't tried it yet but from the sounds of it, the loading times are what is hurting the overall enjoyment of the game for most people so I hope this patch really does help.

Didn't catch this video by Digital Foundy, but apparently the new update does improve load times, but only for re-spawn. Instead of 63 seconds, it takes only about 20 seconds to re-spawn after death.

There remains performance issues though, so there's still ways to go.
