Bethesda Fallout 3

The fallout games are classics, not sure about 3d. Also, this is multi-plat, so they may change elements to suit console gamers.

i think the game sounds good. if it isnt terrifying i will probably buy it.

Here's an interesting story regarding concept art.

All i know is that its a post-apocalyptic RPG from Bethesda, which means there is a very good chance that the game will turn out fantastic.

Ron Perlman will still be doing the narration for fallout.

Fallout 3 looks like it could be really good.

It looks like it will be a major improvement over The Elder Scrolls IV, I hope that's the case.

The Elder Scrolls are very different games from fallout, and the first two were made by Black Isle Studios (Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale). Bethesda bought the name after it went bust, from reading another article they are making this with consoles in mind, fallout isn't like Oblivion, it was a more complicated game, from reading this http://kotaku.com/387903/fallout-3-lead-were-console-players-now they are going to make this with mainstream in mind, that's not a good thing, it wasn't a good thing for Oblivion, Rainbow 6 or Bioshock, it's not that console users are dumb or pc users are Einstein, it's that they are trying to reach the highest possible audience, this will get them more money, but the chances are, you will get a more, arcade like, accessible game, less intricate. But who knows, maybe they will surprise us.

Thanks for the history lesson, but I was well aware of all that already. ;)

I completely agree with you, too. Oblivion was about as "arcadey" as an RPG can get and still be accurately called an RPG, and I was just saying that from everything I've read Fallout 3 is going to be a much better game than Oblivion from an RPG perspective.

I find it funny that they were so "critically acclaimed". They were sequels (or in Bioshock's case "spiritual successor") and they all get praised for offering less challenge and having less content than their predecessors. Oblivion was an especially big step down.

I would imagine so. It worked for I am Legend, but didn't work for The Seventh Seal. I tend to equate game of the year to the MTV awards, but each to there own.

Depends which GotY ones referencing. If its the one handed out by Spike, yea thats not worth noting.

Yea that's true, I'd questioningly take gamespot's word on anything after Kane And Lynch, even at that, it's all subjective, a complicated game doesn't necessarily make a better game and vice versa. Alot of people like Oblivion and that's fair enough.

But Gamespot gave Kane and Lynch a 6, the game wasnt much worse that that was it??

As for GotY awards, if i pay any attention to em, its gonna come from an organization like the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences, not a Gamespot or IGN.

Well, I suppose you don't know that the reviewer Jeff Gerstman was fired because he gave it bad review.

Are there any gameplay videos for this game because i am getting confused between this and Dead Space

Ah, yea, now i know what ya meant. Altho, not trying to discredit the story as i dont doubt for a second that practices like that go on, but i can go onto Wiki and say that i was the one that fired Gerstmann.

The termination paragraph is pretty legit, if your dead set on credibility, you can probably find more sources.

No, but there should be some coming really soon. E3 is just around the corner.

Also to avoid the confusion...

Dead Space is a survival horror game set aboard a space station or some such.

Fallout 3 is an RPG set in and around a post-nuclear apocalyptic Washington DC.

:yay:
