Bethesda Fallout 3

Are there any gameplay videos for this game because i am getting confused between this and Dead Space

I don't think so, it's using a modified oblivion engine, it's set in a nuclear disaster setting. Dead Space will be a space as a survival horror type game like System Shock 2.

Any one know how the combat will work? Is it gonna be more of a Knights of the Old Republic style, or is it gonna be closer to say something like Mass Effect?

Closer to Mass Effect. Your stats determine how much damage you do and the "spread" of your bullets from what I read.

There is also a system called VATS where you can pause the game and select various parts of the enemy's body and shoot them. In this mode stats also determine your chance of hitting the target. Larger targets such as the torso will give you a much greater chance of success.

Fallout 1 and 2 are so good. Just so, SO good.

Fallout 1 and 2 are THE best games EVER made or at least, the best RPGs ever made.

The Baldur's Gate games are the best RPG's ever made imo but yea, fallout's right up there also.

Baldur's Gate 2 is also godly but IMO:

1. Fallout 1 & 2
2. Planescape Torment & Deus Ex
3. Baldur's Gate 2 & Diablo 2

Heh...the exact same 1, 2, 3 for me, but the other way around.
Maybe add system shock 2, but that's primarily a fps.
More hybrid type games like Deus Ex, System Shock and Stalker would be great.

Well, we can pretty much agree that all of them are the bests and kick ass :yay:

Plus, a 3 from each is coming. Fallout 3, Diablo 3 and Dues Ex 3 :woot:

I really need to get into Deus Ex and Diablo before 3 comes out. Fallout had me captivated as a little kid, no other RPG could do that.

Direct2Drive.com has Deus Ex and Deus Ex: Invisible War available, as does Steam (if you like using it). Invisible War can also be found in the used game racks.

There are plenty of stores that still have the "Diablo Battle Chest", which has Diablo, Diablo 2 and it's expansion pack.

Really? Awesome, thanks man.

My brother had Deus Ex on PS2, but from what I've heard it pales in comparsion?

^Definately.

On topic, a new fan interview is going to be posted over at Bethesda's Fallout 3 forums along with some new screenshots tomorrow.

Oh man, I'm so exicted for this game. There's 4 big games for me towards the end of the year which are this, LittleBigPlanet, Bioshock and MotorStorm 2, and this has to go at the top of the list. I'm gonna preorder the Special Edition in September.

Oh and... DOGMEAT! :D

Fan Interview #2 along with some new screenshots.

http://www.bethsoft.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=856489

I made a short list of all the new information from the interview below if you don't want to read the whole thing.

*Children are not killable in the game.

*You can play as a "good" or "bad" character in the game or straddle the gray area between.

*Some nonhuman enemies can be bargained with and even be hired.

*Aside from Dogmeat you can only have one other party member.

*You can give your companions items that they will use or wear.

*You can give your companions commands.

*If you commit a crime, only the faction or town you wronged will be aware of it.

*The dialog options in the game are going to be very good and numerous, apparantly.

*The speech skill is the basic way to get more information, but other unique dialog
options can also be gained from different stats. Example: If you have high strength, you
could find that "tough guy" types of characters might have more to tell you.

*Armor comes in two pieces, the body and helmet.

*Special kinds of regular unarmored clothing can increase some stats or skills. Example: Mechanic's coveralls will give a boost to your repair skill.

*You will also be able to wear different kinds of accessories.

*Inventory is based on weight and all items are categorized into: Weapons, Apparel, Aid, Ammo, and Misc.

*The way I read it, the Radiant A.I. is largely the same as it was in Oblivion, but characters can interact with the environment more.

*As in Oblivion, "Dungeon" areas will be common, but they will have a greater variety in terms of art style. Some examples given were factory, school, subway, office, hospital.

*Downtown DC is one giant "dungeon" for lack of a better term.

*Quest rewards will be awarded based on the outcome of the quest and how you completed it.

*Travel will be the same as in Oblivion, except there won't be any places revealed on your map when you start out.

*There will be random encounters.

*Traits have been merged into Perks.

*If you include multiple ranks, there are currently around 100 perks.

*There are some perks that you can only access if you have high enough skill.

*Character creation will be similar to Oblivion, except that you can have a beard.

*Apparantly their "beard list" is mighty impressive.

*Also, you can get "hair cuts" in the game like in Fable.

*It will be difficult, but you can finish the game without using a weapon.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but regardless, I've always felt Fallout fan's obsession with murdering children is odd. To say the least.

Odd? The majority of games made revolve around killing things. Kids and teens spend there days in front of tv screen/monitor replicating the implementation of death. This is entertainment to the masses.

I'm not talking about kids playing violent games. I'm talking about Fallout fans obsession with killing children in the game world.
