I know everyone is caught up with TLJ grossing more OW than JL has domestically so far but has anyone else noticed JL's decent not terrible legs? If it finishes with $235m that would give it a 2.52x multiplier. Other movies that opened in a similar range have the following multipliers:

Logan: $88m OW $226m dom, 2.56x.
X-Men: DOFP: $90m OW $233m dom, 2.58x.
Thor: TDW: $85m OW $206m dom, 2.42x.

And all of those movies got either great reviews (Logan) good reviews (DOFP) or decent enough reviews (TDW) the fact that JL has held pretty well despite horrible reviews is pretty impressive imo. Yeah yeah I know it's a bomb and going to lose money, etc. But the fact that it can hold on par with a film like Logan says the general public didn't hate it like people love to claim.

Yeah the GA doesn't really hate the film. There's just no hook and lackluster marketing that didn't make them wanna see it. Once they do watch it, a majority of them probably enjoyed it.

Nope. They didn’t. They hated Batman V Superman, which is why they didn’t bother coming out for Justice League. But, it was actually an average movie, rather than a terrible one like its prequel, so it’s sustained better legs.

Deadpool was also R rated and it had a 2.7x multiplier ($132m ow $363m finish) so being rated R doesn't stop movies from having good legs.

Really the only reason this film got to where it got to, not that it was good enough, was because it had batman, superman, so Dee woman, flash, aquaman and cyborg teaming up.

All that money is them. They were the legs. The film. Itself was trash, people just wanted to see their fave characters. Myself included.

If they had shown up they probably would have liked it. I liked Justice League almost as much as I liked Wonder Woman. And I liked Wonder Woman a lot.

Also, while it was still was the first studio to reach $5B ww, Buena Vista jumped over WB now officially domestically.

Kinda, however, Iron Man had cemented himself as an A list Superhero thanks to the amazing first film (the 2nd was pooh but Downey was still great in it).
The Hulk, Thor and Captain America aren't "unknowns", however Hawkeye and Black Widow are to the majority of movie-goers.

You are right though Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman are all more well known (or were in my day).

Exactly why there is absolutely no excuse it couldn't make $3 billion in 2017.

Justice League isn't some small art house film. While it likely wouldn't made the same opening weekend as a Star Wars film, it should have come close. It most certainly shouldn't have taken three weeks to match a Star Wars opening weekend take.

JL should have done at least $180m on OW had things gone to plan. The audience was up for it as BvS's opening weekend showed. And imagine if MoS had been less divisive while still equally loved by its fans. Then BvS would have done even more. And of course if BvS had done really well all bets would have been off for JL.

Some DC and Marvel films have outgrossed part of the prequels. Brand name can't carry everything at all times.

Star Wars is just at the height of its potential in popularity and acclaim, something which the entire DCEU whisked away in a matter of 5 years.

Yes, the one's who saw it didn't hate it or it's wom would be much worse.

Can anyone seriously answer for me why it's holding so well relative to the reviews it got? If it's garbage and Logan is a considered a classic why isn't Logan doing much better in terms of legs? Hell it's got better legs than Civil War too, just like Suicide Squad did yet people don't mock CW for holding worse than 2 supposedly horrible movies.

If the the movie and DCEU in general are so God awful please tell me how that's possible. Unless legs conveniently don't matter when it works in favor of the DCEU but do when it's against it, in BvS's case.
