Justice League Movie Trilogy Ideas

Honestly, I wouldn't have a League film be an origin film. My problem with a JLA movie for a while now is that I feel that doing a film about how the team gets together would be too clunky story wise to fit into one film, what with all the characters and all. So, I'd have the League film start with the team already established. Maybe they could still be in their first year, but I'd have them have been active for at least some amount of time.

Ok, Dude, you cannot be serious!^ :wow:
Please tell me it was one too many chair shots to your noggin!:csad:

Seriously Cameron is a brilliant director, looks at Terminator, Aliens even Titanic. I'm not saying Cameron is my first choice, but someone with his ability to direct an epic pictire on a large scale. I'd actually like Ridley Scott to helm it.

Nothing about the movie will be loyal to comics history... for instance, it will likely start in the present day and not in the 50s, among other MAJOR changes. Also, Amanda Waller, in the comics did not begin or end her career as a checkmate operative. Perhaps the league meets her before that point in her career?

I still feel you're shooehorning a character into a film for the sake of it. I can't see any reason for Waller to be incorperated. And you're just bieng picky with the faithfulness thing. batman Begins was faithful and it didn't start in the 40's. Faithful does not mean follow things to the letter, but simply that the characters look and act like their comic counterparts.

Waller may not have always been Checkmate, but her significant contributions to the DC Universe have been as part of that organisation.

Why would it be a major change for them to start in the present day when the series takes place on a sliding timeline?

My trilogy:

Justice League

Superman/Clark Kent: Brandon Routh
Batman/Bruce Wayne: Christian Bale
Wonder Woman/Diana Prince: Catherine Zeta-Jones
Flash/Barry Allen: Colin Ferguson
Green Lantern/Hal Jordan: James Caviezel
Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onnz: Robert Patrick

Lex Luthor: Kevin Spacey
Vandal Savage: Gerard Butler

1st movie: Centuries ago, we're given a brief introduction of Vandal Savage and his history. He later grows to become the would be conqueror of Themyscira (which has just recently bcome involved with Martians who have supported them with technology). Vandal tries to seize their powerful weapon, but is stopped and hides decides to move on to other things for now. Modern time, Lex Luthor has recently been announced President of the US and Vandal Savage is Secretary of Defense. Meanwhile Clark has been having strange visions lately. He goes to have lunch with new friend Bruce Wayne (towards the end of their conversation, it is revealed to the audience that their secret identities are known between them do to a previous meeting which can be explained in a later "Batman VS Superman" flick).
Clark tells Bruce about the dreams, and as they get stronger, they go to investigate. Meanwhile, Ambassador Queen Hippolyta and her daughter Diana Prince of Themyscira are contemplating the US on whether or not they should become allies after it's existence has been revealed long ago. During this, clips of former police scientist Barry Allen (who is working in a lab designing a way to run at super high speeds after discovering the Speed Force) can be shown, as well as clips of fight pilot Hal Jordan (whom already has his ring but doesnt know exactly what to do with it).
Superman and Batman go to investigate the dreams and see that they are coming from the Martian J'onn J'onnz. They help him escape a government testing site and he tells them the story of Vandal Savage after discovering that the man wants to try and open war between Themyscira and the US to retreave the weapon.
Superman and J'onn (now in a different form) talk to president Luthor, who has already had a talking to with Vandal (the two are secretly already working together). The president starts war between the Amazon Island and begins rallying troops and he also drafts Superman, J'onn and Barry Allen joins the fight (now powered by the Speed Force...he designs his own costume to withstand the new speeds, as well as "fit in"). Joining them as well is fighter pilot Hal Jordan, with the power ring of course. Upon reaching Themyscira, they're attacked by scouts (one being Princess Diana).
Meanwhile, Batman is busy battling Vandal Savage who has begun breaking out a number of criminals from prison to help him as he double crosses Lex to seize the weapon for himself. the heroes on Themyscira are defeated and quickly return, with Diana following. They all apologize for the battle, and then they talk. Soon, Lex brands the heroes as traitors to the country and wanted men (and women, including Diana). After meeting up with Batman, they figure out they must band together to stop the war.
The Amazons declare war, and when Diana declines helping, she is branded a traitor as well and the heroes then begin to fight both sides as war finds its ways to the US (Hal dons a costume resembling that of Abin Sur, and Diana creates a costume out of the American flag to gain trust). Later on, she's mistakenly dubbed "Wonder Woman" by some little children she saves.
Vandal makes it to the island after, but Batman and Wonder Woman intervene, and are defeated as he finally takes control of the large doomsday weapon. As troops from both sides are defeated, Vandal enters the seen and powers up the missle, already devastating some cities. Finally, after Vandal is managed to be defeated, the weapon is destroyed in outer space by Hal Jordan after malfunctioning.
In the end, the heroes are awarded medals and Lex Luthor is impeached and Vandal is arressted. The Vice President then presents the new team to the world as the Justice League of America (sans Batman).

Justice League 2

Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
Martian Manhunter
Flash
Green Lantern

Hawkman/Kator Hol: David Kieth
Hawkgirl/Shayera Hol: Morena Baccarin
Aquaman/Arthur Curry: Joel Edgerton
Orion: Michael Keaton
Wally West: Ryan Reynolds

Darkseid: Laurence Fishburne
Lex Luthor

2nd movie: This movie revolves around the League's 2nd year since they've formed. Batman works closely with them, and together they are battling King Arthur Curry who is attacking a harbor. The League capture him and he is brought in for questioning after claiming to be an Atlantean. Later, Kator and Shayera Hol of Thanagarian arrive on Earth after the devastastion of their planet at the hands of Darkseid and his fleet. Darkseid eventually arrives, and the invasion begins. Throughout the movie, Lex Luthor can be shown working with Darkseid in exchange for power (he is then given his infamous purple and green armor by Darkseid). Also, Barry Allen's nephew Wally West will be shown, also trying to crack the Speed Force equation trying to be just like his uncle.
Aquaman joins the team, seeing that his kingdom will also fall under the rule of Darkseid if nothing is done. Hawkman eventually dies, leaving Hawkgirl to join the League in the end. Coast City will end up getting obliterated, causing Hal Jordan to go berserk and get into a fight with the League. Eventually he takes off into space after the defeat of Darkseid and forces himself into exile.

Justice League 3

Superman
Batman
Wonder Woman
Green Lantern II/Kyle Rayner: Jason Lee
Flash II/Wally West: Ryan Reynolds
Martian Manhunter
Aquaman
Hawkgirl

Parrallax: James Caviezel
Lex Luthor and the Injustice Gang

3rd: The film could open up with the League disposing of some villains(s) whom are attack nuclear plant or something. The battle could end with the death of Barry Allen, which would eventually lead up to Wally West trying to join the league, who is refused membership. Throughout the movie he will be trying to prove himself. Meanwhile, Kyle Rayner receives a power ring from a dying GL who has encountered the villain Parrallax, who is one his way towards the Earth. The League discover it is their friend Hal Jordan and decide to increase their forces by adding Kyle to the team to train, and finally Wally, as well as a number of other heroes (it could be a nuch of cameos, but not as bad as X3 handled theirs). Meanwhile, Lex Luthor could also be forming an Injustice Gang together.

Good ideas only i don't like Zeta-Jones as Wonder Woman. She's a little too old. And I also don't like the idea of Batman and Superman being good friends. But i do like the plot lines

The Justice League

Superman/Clark Kent: Brandon Routh
Batman/Bruce Wayne: Christian Bale
Wonder Woman/Diana Prince: Tricia Helfer (With a bit of a bust increase in the costume?)
Flash/Wally West: Ryan Reynolds
Green Lantern/Hal Jordan: Jaime Bamber
Martian Manhunter/J'onn J'onnz: Dominic Purcell

I would do this sortof different than everyone else. It would take a look at things from a different point of view. Starro would be the villain, because you can't have a first JL story without Starro. He brings a great sort of Alien Menace to the team. and at the end, you could have them fight the giant starro for a INSANE battle. You could even have parts of the movie where Superman gets taken over and Batman or whoever has to defeat him. It could end with Superman putting the last starro creature in the Fortress of Solitude and the creation of the forming of the actual team and the sattelite (donated by Wayne Industries of course).

I really like that idea, especially the Superman getting taken over part. And i like the casting choice for Wonderwoman. i don't think she needs a bust increase though and of course she needs a hair color change, but nice find.

Pt. 1 would be about natural disasters around the Earth and the pre-league (Superman, Batman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, & Wonder Woman) come together to fight the natural disasters. But, at the conclusion of the movie we find out that it's actually not natural disasters, but an alien by the name of Darkseid has been causing the disasters. We find out by a visitor, Hawk Girl, the true source because her planet has already battled Darkseid and was almost destroyed. As the pre-JLA works with the government to battle Darkseid, they come to know of the whereabouts of J'onn J'onzz who was captured a year ago. He came to warn Earth about the pending attack but was captured by a Black Ops government agency known as Cadmus. Darkseid sends a broadcast to Earth about the pending attack. Batman and Superman reveal a "space station" that they have been working on with courtesy of Wayne Industry and some of the technology that Kal-El has knowledge of via The Fortress of Solitude. The movie ends with The Justice League getting to know their new headquarters.

Pt. 2 is their battle with Darkseid. Darkseid is a monumental character and should be dealt with in more than just 1 film. At the end of course, he is defeated with a little help from the "New Gods". The Justice League is officially formed.

Pt. 3 shows the planet recooperating from the attack. During this time Lex Luthor is putting together the Legion of Doom to defeat the now weakened heroes. Lex, from the blood of Superman during the 1 on 1 fight with Darkseid, has created Bizarro. Most of the heroes have been captured. The second tier heroes (Supergirl, Steel, Green Arrow, NightWing, John Stewart (who now has the ring due to Hal Jordan being beaten nearly to death) along with Batman) infiltrate, rescue the heroes, and destoys the Legion of Doom's network of world power.

Ok, that was from the top of my head, but I think it would work. Again, Darkseid is a character that should span over 2 (even 3) films a la Lord of The Rings and Harry Potter. He's a bigger than life character. I don't think 1 movie can do him Justice (:woot: ).

I don't see why Darkseid needs more than 1 film either, but i think the idea for movie 1 is great. I actually like it better than my own movie 1.

Thank you :) I have more to expand on it, but I was extremely exhausted. And yeah I think she would be great given a die job and some help. Shes even 5'10 to boot. meaning she would be close to Superman. and equal in some high heels.

No there's no Aquaman in the JLA movie. But he is in part 3, JLU. I wanted him to be in the last film so that he can be a major character in the biggest of the trilogy

I'm finally in the home stretch on my JUSTICE LEAGUE script. It'll be somewhere around 135 pages when all is said and done. The following major characters show up:

Superman
Wonder Woman
J'onn J'onnz
Green Lantern
The Flash
Batman
Plastic Man
The Atom
Aquaman
Orion
Darkseid
Kalibak
Desaad

And various cameos. Because I found a great opportunity to work them in, and we all love cameos. Gee, can you guess what the story line is about?

Are you thinking of a trilogy? If so, do you really need to cram so many characters into one film? More characters requires more character development

"Rock of Ages"?

"World War III"?

Sort of. More along the lines of CHALLENGE OF THE SUPERFRIENDS.

I like some of the elements of both stories, but as a whole, neither of those stories satisfies me. I also prefer not to directly rip off anyone's work in terms of a single storyline. To that end, THE JUSTICE LEAGUE will have elements of what I consider to be classic Justice League lore, draw from more recent story arcs like THE NAIL, ROCK OF AGES, WORLD WAR III and KINGDOM COME, and even takes some important stuff from The Superfriends.

Are you thinking of a trilogy? If so, do you really need to cram so many characters into one film? More characters requires more character development

Yes, I'm thinking in terms of a trilogy. Is it chock full, yes. I don't think it's crammed, because I'm not dealing in origins and "how so and so joined the team". I'm pretty good at balancing characters, and these are established characters, so I'm really just developing already-developed characters "further". Anyone who has seen BATMAN BEGINS or SUPERMAN RETURNS will be able to follow the storyline, and even people who haven't will quickly become familiar with the characters, their motivations, and their world.

Teamwise, I think you almost have to have The Big Seven in there, and other characters deserve interaction with the league. I have had to draw on some story wrangling, but I've gotten what I consider to be pretty solid and relevant character development for all those characters in under 140 pages, so I think it'll turn out ok. Also, THE JUSTICE LEAGUE sets up the larger story of all three films, which will naturally expand on what is done in the first story (The second script is far more ambitious/foolish and the third is a Hellish nightmare from which there is no escape). Superman, Diana, J'onn and Darkseid are the main characters in this one, with Green Lantern, The Flash, Plastic Man and several others filling supporting roles, and the rest rounding out the cast and fleshing out the world of the Justice League. But I'd say every single character has a pivotal and decidely important role in the events of the story and the overall thematics and message.

You're free to feel that way, truth be told, I think a JLA movie can't help but shoehorn characters like Flash, Wonder Woman and Aquaman in when their capabilities are accounted for three and four times over without them ever needing to show up.

Touche.

I thought it might be better to do the first JLA movie with just the "trinity"(Supes, Bats & Wondy) coming together to stop whoever or whatever. I had a couple of ideas of possible plots for this movie, tell me what you guys think:

Plot #1: The League of Shadows is planning to end civilization as we know it yet again. Their plot this time evolves stealing large amounts of Kryptonite and other high tech devices in order to build a mystery weapon of mass destruction. Any and all Kryptonite as been bought and is owned by Lexcorp. This brings the League of Shadows and Lex Luthor into an unholy alliance. The activites of these two factions draws the attention of both the Batman and Superman. The two heroes will have too put their skills together despite being polar opposites. The two heroes find they might be in over their head in dealing with these combined forces when a surprise arrives in the form of Wonder Woman. The three heroes come together to stop virtual armageddon.

Plot#2: The League of Shadows has made a devastating discovery... they've found the the Phantom Zoners... Non, Ursa and General Zod. Held in suspended animation in an underground ice glacier, the LoS awakens them and gives them back their abilites with a hitch (and highly specialized devices which controls their powes) kill all threats to their plans namely Batman and Superman. Things get hairy when Zod finds a way around the LoS's control. Batman and Superman must unite to stop Zod's reign of vengeance. They get unexpected help from a new hero who calls herself Wonder Woman. Together the trio must stop Zod & crew with help from the enemies who freed them.. The League of Shadows.. but can they be trusted even now?

Either of those would work better as a World's Finest film. I mean, they both have Wonder Woman randomly thrown in anyways.

I wouldn't do, nor want to see a JLA movie till WW can have two movies to establish herself in DC's movie-verse.

1st JLA movie.
Would be about Lex Luthor creating a large Satellite space station that can Monitor the whereabouts of any superhero. With this device he is able to sell information to the criminal underworld (whereabouts, weakness, abilities, etc, etc...). And for a much larger fee use the Satellite's on board weapons (mechanize starro's, laser guided missiles, ) to kill the Hero. In the way of Lex master plan is a Mysterious detective named John Jones, who is snooping around Lex Corp. A detective that is bringing the Heroes of the World together (only Superman, WonderWoman, and Batman in this one) to stop Lex. But the heroes soon discover that Lex isn't behind the satellite, but an alien that is trying to conquer the Galaxy. Can the heroes stop the inevitable invasion on time? and what is a Boom Tube? and did one just open?

JLA 2 - Invasion

With a large expolsion of light, and army emerges on Earth, with a large figure in the middle. The world watches as the army makes it's way to Lex Corp. Lex welcomes the out worlders, and tells Lord Darkseid that the earth is ready. A green comet is seen, what does it mean? Also, who is the Green Lantern? Do the four Hero's have a fifth member? The Heroes have a plan, but they need the Green Arrow. The Heroes are on a race against time, can Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, the Martian Manhunter , and Superman buy Batman and Green Arrow enough time to turn the Satellite/Space station against this Darkseid and his Army? With his Army Destroyed, all is left is an angry Alien, and his Doomsday Dogs.

JLA 3 - Rise of the League
All out destruction. Doomsday dogs attacking everything, and everybody. The Flash and Aquaman have come to Help. Will that be enough? the Final showdown is here, the only way to stop the DD Dogs is to defeat Darkseid. It's Superman Vs Darkseid for the World...... and did the Joker just shoot Lex Luthor? Lex should have invited him.

Bale was a great Batman when you consider that Begins was based more on the Frank Miller Dark Knight version of Batman. There aer so many different encarnations of characters, its hard to be completely true to the comic. So it really depends on which story you're trying to tell
