Ok, seriously, am I missing something? Because I think that this kid's music is pretty terrible

That's how he became famous. He did popular YouTube videos and then a record label executive decided to offer him a deal. It's like that Fred kid. He did those dumb videos and now he's getting movie and TV deals.
