Long would be PERFECT as the reserved Peter and with a little weight training could look great in the Spidey suit. Lohan would be way better as the sassy MJ who first said "Face it, Tiger, you just hit the jackpot!" than Dunst ever was! That's assuming Raimi doesn't kill off the character in SM3!

Long would be a good Peter but Lohan isn't MJ. Lohan could be a Black Cat one day but she's certainly no MJ.

Why I say Black Cat is because Felicia and her sort of have the same personalities and mindset if you look closely. Unfortunately, Eliza Dushku is probably the best candidate for Black Cat so I say no to Lohan.

Lindsay Lohan as MJ? *barfs*

Well I really don't like recasting atll all. But Long would be a pretty good replacement for Maguire, except he isn't nearly as good an actor, but he could fill in the shoes I suppose (I like those Apple commericals, yeah I said it!)

But Lohan, NO, NO, NO AND DOUBLE NO.

As for her as Black Cat, again nah. She looks terrible as a blonde. If anyone was to play BC (someone who Idon't think should neccesarily be introduced now that we got Gwen in it too) then I would say the casting is so obviously Elisha Cuthbert (look at Morg's avy for more) that it is a no-brainer. However, she may just seem unneccesary for the movies thoguh, albeit a great character in the comics and providing one of the most interesting eras in the Spidey mythos too by the way.

Hey, I never said I liked her as a person but anyone can see she is closer to comic-book MJ than Dunst! By the way, how are things over in C-town? I'm one over...D-town.

It makes me weep that one could claim a name as cool as Spider-Man and yet post such foolish ideas. This was a name that the Mods should have allowed an oldbie to switch to.

Yes for Long as Spiderman/Peter
No to Lohan for MJ.
Scarlett Johanssan for MJ.
Eliza Dushku for Black Cat.
Lindsay Lohan for Firestar.

Screw Cuthbert. She can't act.

Oh, dry your tears, little Larry! And what is an "oldbie"?

I can't stand recasting... but whoever plays MJ/Peter should still be kids right now cause I don't want sequels in a while if everyone is done after 3

Lohan will party herself to death before she gets a part in any Spider-Man movie anyway.

I'd like to see Long as peter. Maguire never really did it for me. He plays a good Parker but sucks as Spider-man (That sounds wierd but most fans know what I'm talking about).

As for Lohan, I hope she gets hit by a bus. And, incase that wasn't clear enough, I don't want her to play MJ.

I think Justin Long is perfect casting as Peter Parker/Spidey. But no to Lohan.

humm, never thought of that before, but Yeah, Justin Long does sorta look the part, would be interesting to see him play something other than comic relief...They could go with padding, but a couple months of weight training would do him some good...though I like the idea of Spidey being someone that LOOKS small but is, in fact very strong.

and Lohan shouldn't even be in a film playing at the same time a Spidey movie is out.

I think Erica Durance (Lois of Smallville) would have an interesting look as MJ, but I've only seen one episode of Smallville with her in it, so I haven't a clue as to what she would actually be like in it. I'd be happy to keep Raimi and the current cast, Though I still think Dunst should have been Gwen and they should have killed her at the end of the first film...

If everyone is done after number 3 I vote they just leave it for about 6 years and then adapt Ultimate Spider-Man for the screen (it would be like a Batman Begins style reboot, and different enough to not trample over the wonderful work that Raimi and co have already done.)

Well, according to Raimi, Sony is planning on making a Spiderman 4, 5, and 6. But no word on if Raimi will direct or Maguire will star.

Dunst and Maguire both said if there are good stories, that are worth telling they'd both be interested in returning, But I get the impression that Tobey doesn't seem overly optimistic that the quality can be maintained, or that they haven't already said all that they can with the characters.

If things do go on I hope Raimi is still involved. If needs be, I feel the overall tone and feeling could be maintained if the actors HAVE to be replaced, but I doubt it would feel like a Spider-Man film if all the actors came back and Sam went away...though I'm still waiting to see what will come of this Evil Dead remake, and the possible Evil Dead 4...

People need to understand that recasting is inevitable. There was spider-man before Maguire and Dunst and there sure as hell will be spider-man after them too.

Personally, seeing as Grace will never be a potential candidate to wear the red and blues, I say after Maguire give the part to Jake Gyllenhaal.
This long guy still has the pre-spider-bite peter look to him. Parker will always be a geek or what ever but he does become a lot cooler, confident and somewhat socially active as himself, something that the current movies should have attributed to peter's character by now.
Casting this Long guy will be taking a step back character-wise, give the role to Jake G.

It will be taking a step back because he doesnt look the part? I like the more social Pete but I never like for him to be the cool hip guy, more social and active yeah, but the appeal of Pete is that he's the everyman. Like Xander Harris in Buffy or most of the roles Luke Wilson plays (Old School, Super Ex, etc.). Justin Long and Jake G are great choices, but I perfer Long because he has that everyman appeal to him.

It will be taking a step back because peter is spposed to grow not just physically but mentally and socially. You act like you've never read a spidey comic before. I'm merely suggesting that the movies at least follow this pattern from the comics. Jake G looks like your every man too but at the same time I'm not saying parker has to ooze cool, he just needs his character fleshed out and for him to grow...socially. The comics have done it, the cartoons have done it and if you dont like that, thats your problem because its whats been done to the source material.

For Peter I'd look at

Jake

Or Justin Long

For MJ

Evan Rachel Wood : She's a great actress and remindes me a bit of Kirsten Dunst .

 You're making it seem like I want Pete to be an anti social dork. I dont know if you have realized this but Justin Long is an actor, I'm pretty sure he can bring depth to the character. Plus you have to understand that the movies arent going to be just like the comics. But I dont understand your critique on movie Pete, Peter is social in the movies, he just didnt realize he could balance his double life until the end of SM2(the movie game emphsizes on it more), he thought he had to stay away from his loved ones to keep them safe. From what I read about SM3 Pete is more confident.

Watch this trailer. I think Long can grow socially.
