Spider-man 3 was the BIGGEST dissapointment of this summer. Strange that Raimi's Spider-man Trilogy perfectly mirror's his Evil Dead Trilogy.

First movie is solid if unfocused and a bit sloppy, second film is a CLASSIC and the third is a ****ing mess that Sam Wrote with his brother (and Alvin Sargent).

Reasons why Raimi, Maguire and Dunst should have their asses canned?

1# A 300 million dollar budget. Certain morons will say "oh, I don't care what it costs, it will make money", these people are ****ing stupid and know nothing about the movie industry. Sure, it will make some cash in the end but does this justify a budget the size of the GNP of most third world countries. No. Also, in a summer where Transformers was the best film of the summer, that cost only 150 million, Spider-man 3 doesn't look all that hot, never mind that Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix was the FIFTH film of the series and only cost 150 million. One can only imagine what Spider-man 4 would cost and shiver.......

2# Spider-man 3 sucked balls because of Raimi. Raimi tried to have it both ways with this film by trying to make it the end of a trilogy when he knew ****ing well that he was more then likely going to do part 4 which leads me to.......

3# Venom was a complete and total waste. The most logical and best way to use Venom would have been to set up the symbiote in 3 and have it merge with Brock, as in the movie, and created a teaser of some Venom action in the last minute of the film. Maybe they could have had Venom swinging through New York at night as a mirror image of the ending of the first two films. But Raimi ****ing PISSED him away and made it impossibe to use him in part 4, know why (?), it's because Raimi acted like a ****ing child that didn't like being told what to do and he KNEW that he was going to do a 4th film and didn't want to have to do it with Venom and THAT is the reason he shat all over the character. If he had no interest in using Venom then he should have just set him up and walked the **** away. Despite my love for Evil Dead 2 and Spider-man 2 I have to say **** SAM RAIMI.

4# Toby Maguire can also go **** himself. This little rat has always had the attitude that he's better then these movies and has the impression that anyone will remember or give a **** about him after he stops making Spider-man flicks. Correct me if I'm wrong but Mr. Maguire wasn't exactly buring up the ****ing box office when he was cast, nor was he being touted as a great actor. Not to mention that he plays the part like John-boy from the Waltons, if he was ******ed. But this little **** wanted 25 million for Spider-man 2 and tried pulling that back problem bull****, just before doing part 2, because he had been contracted for three films and knew he couldn't re-negotiate for more money and the only way out of the contract was to fake a back problem. But this stupid little man didn't seem to realize that Spider-man had existed for about 40 years, long before he was born, and that the character will live long after he is dead, buried and forgotten by everyone except Spider-man fans and that these movie could have made just about as much money with almost any other actor. Sony actually showed some balls by getting Jake Gyllenhall in for rehersals and, tho and behold, Mr. Maguire showed up for work sharpish.

4# Get the **** rid of that fugly-fang-toothed-troll Dunst. One can only imagine that 275 million of Spider-man 3's budget was spent on CGI to make Kirstin good looking enough that I could stiffle my vomit.

In conclusion, I would recommend that Sony starts hiring directors on a film by film basis and plot their Spider-man sequels in advance to make the fullest use of their villains. Ditch Raimi and hire a director that can do a solid job. Get the **** rid of Maguire and Dunst. Hire Shia LaBouf who, according to his performence in Transformers, is the living embodiment of Peter Parker and get Lindsay Lohan into detox and clean her up back to her Mean Girls days because I can't imagine a more perfect actress for the part of MJ and if you don't beilieve me then take a look at this.....

Raimi did make two solid films and Spider-Man 3 was all compromises (Raimi wanted Sandman/Studio wanted Venom/Harry's story needed finishing) and ending your post with a picture of Lindsay Lohan isn't a good way to convince people of the validity of your opinions.

I forgot about Harry. I would have kept him in a coma untill he was needed for a future sequel. A cool idea would have been if MJ and Peter broke up, he gets together with Gwen, Harry comes out of his coma in Part 6 and kills Gwen. That way it would be truish to her storyline except it's Harry, not his father, who kills Gwen. That amnesia **** is fine for soap operas but it stinks for a 300 million superhero film.

I honestly never liked Lohan untill I saw Mean Girls. She hasn't done anything at that level since she decided to become a full time co(c)k(e) ****e. Just look at that picture and tell me she wouldn't be a better MJ then the Troll?

The amnesia is from the comics themselves, it was to get Norman and Harry out of the way without killing them because as the Goblin they were too dangerous/upset the status quo too much.

As for Venom being wasted, that was Sony/Arad, not Raimi. Raimi told them that for Venom he'd need more money and two movies. They told him to wrap it all up in one film.

Also Raimi and co were only contracted for 3 movies when doing SM3, so they couldn't do the two-movie thing as it would've been a contract violation doing 2 movies to tell one movie storyline.

And Raimi wasn't going to end what he thought was his last Spidey flick on a cliffhanger.

Venom doesn't fit into the movie universe Raimi made anyways. He lacks the depth that Raimi gives his villains, and if Raimi tried to give him proper depth than the Venom-fanatics would've cried bloody murder anyways.

As for the 300 million dollar budget, you do realize just how incredibly expensive the Sandman CGI effects were, right?

I never understood this argument. Raimi makes too good films and one bad film (from your point of view - I personally liked SM3) so he has to go? Does your disappointment in Spider-Man 3 negate your liking the first two movies? Does his ****ing up SM3 (in your eyes) mean that Raimi is a terrible director and that the first two movies were a fluke?

Good God... I'm not not even going to bother with the rest of that post. I don't even know where to begin.

800,000,000 + worldwide is not a dissappointment.

nuff said.

You firstly have no say in the matter. And secondly, after wanting them to hire Shia and Lindsay Lohan for Peter and MJ...you have no merit or justifiable opinions on these boards concerning good/bad movies and how they should be. Lindsay Lohan??? Were you serious:dry:  Dear God Shia Laboooof is not Peter Parker and what an even bigger abomination it would be to have Lindsay Coke ****e Drunk Triple Rehab Photog Hitter Lohan??? Get out of here seriously. You write all that stuff on why you hate the series and then you ruin it with that statement...Plus, why do you think you deserve an opinion thread? Lets all make our own threads on what we want to Spider-Man 4 to be and who should be in it and who should helm it shall we? Yes, that looks like Mary Jane Watson if she had drank 3000 beers, snorted cocaine, screwed half of Hollywood, and been to rehab 3 times...then yes Lindsay would be perfect for Mary Jane.

yeah, the filming would never finish with how often she checks in and out of rehab.

well, I wouldn't quite put it that way... as bad as Spider-Man 3 was, you can't deny that it was a huge success at the box-office.

but I do agree that the budget is way too bloated and they could definitely do just about the same if not more with a smaller budget. it's only a matter of knowing how to make it happen.

nope. Spider-Man 3 sucked balls because Avi Arad CLEARLY shoved Venom and Gwen Stacy down Raimi's throat because the fans wanted them. so you get s#!t like symbioPeter dancing around to Saturday Night Fever tunes.

what Batman & Robin and Catwoman showed and Spider-Man 3 proved is that the director HAS to care about the characters he's showing. Raimi had made his feelings against Venom quite public before SM3, and still Arad forced it on him (forget what he says in public, cause it's ridiculously obvious that this is what really happened).

could Raimi have walked out because of it? he could've, but he wanted to finish out his (now taken over by producers) trilogy. can't blame him.

actually, before Spider-Man Maguire WAS being noticed as a great actor. whatever your feelings are for him, you can't deny that the guy has talent and that he could've very well have made a good career with or without Spider-Man. he most likely wouldn't be as big a name as he is.

at the end of the day, what really matters is the work he puts up on the screen.

4# Get the **** rid of that fugly-fang-toothed-troll Dunst. One can only imagine that 275 million of Spider-man 3's budget was spent on CGI to make Kirstin good looking enough that I could stiffle my vomit.

:whatever:

she may not be the prettiest girl in Hollywood, but you're just being ridiculous.

LaBeouf is a great actor but physically he ain't no Peter Parker.

and get Lindsay Lohan into detox and clean her up back to her Mean Girls days

as for Lindsay Lohan, the girl just ain't worth it. there are tons of more talented and better looking actresses who can actually keep their s#!t together and actually bother to rehearse and who... ...don't have to go through detox to do it!

and you give Maguire and Dunst a hard time. :whatever:

because I can't imagine a more perfect actress for the part of MJ and if you don't beilieve me then take a look at this.....

I don't believe you. imagine someone better and I might.

Well, I do think Sam Raimi would sit out of this one, but not for the beyond ridiculous reasons you've stated (Lindsay Lohan, what the hell??)

I just think that his trilogy is done and finished with and I would just like to another director who is equally, or moreso capable step in for their own "trilogy" or whatever just so that the films will have a different feel and different focus to them.

Really I'd just like a fresh perspective on the series. Nothing against Raimi, but after 3 films I'm just getting a little tired of his take on the character, and would like to see some new blood in the director's chair. One writer never sticks on for the comics for too long, so why can't we simply get a new director without having to completely reboot everything every time?

I forgot about Harry. I would have kept him in a coma untill he was needed for a future sequel. All these problems to why the Spiderman francise is suffering as you say. Its in utter turmoil. Maguire and Dunst will be its downfall you say. And your saving grace and solution to fixing it all is Lindsay Lohan............................ ????????????????????????

Can I be the last post for this thread?!!!! This guy obviously has no idea what he is talking about and just put this up here to rant and rave and see what people would say!!

Tobey, Kirsten and Sam all suck but Lindsay Lohan is just what the franchise needs...WHATEVER!!

Good job buddy.....your thread is done!

Even though your a noob LOL you speak the truth you are now my new newby friend LOL:woot::woot::woot:

And LOL at ROFL waffles!! Joke of the day venom4life:woot::woot::woot::woot:

I don't think Lindsay Lohan would really work and I don't want her in a Spider-man movie. The only upside to having her in one as Mary Jane would be that at least Spidey wouldn't have to save her from another kidnapping because she'd either be in rehab or in her car, knocked out, after running into a tree.:whatever:

I completley disagree with you and I think your absoloutley wrong and you obviously don't see that the Director, the Cast and Crew are perfect. Sam, Tobey, Kirsten, etc. should defenitley stay. They are great at their roles.

I will make this simple to the original poster.

1) YOu know nothing of the movie industry. So quit trying to school Sam Raimi.

2) You claim Transformers was the best movie released this summer. Love or hate SM3 that still means you're under the age of 15.

3) Evil Dead 2 was the worst of the trilogy. Yeah I said it. It was by far the most unblanaced and boring of the three. Other than cutting off Bruce Campbell's hand the movie was a remake of the first without being scary but other than again the hand sequence wasn't all that funny. That is why we got hte superior AOD. My opinion, however.

4) Tobey Maguire was touted as a good actor before Spider-Man, you tool. As a nuanced sage of "the elusive movie industry" you should know who the kid was that was double booked by Ang Lee back to back in The Ice Storm and Ride with the Devil and who was nominated for awards (however deserved or not they were) for Cider House Rules and Wonder Boys.

5) The entire post was whiney, childish and overall fanboy *****ing about Venom in the end. Which is ironic when you call Sam Raimi a brat.

Love or hate Sam Raimi, I don't carae. But grow up and take some anger managment courses and come back in a few years. Thanks. ;)

P.S. You lose two points for suggesting Lindsay Lohan be in this movie. She proved me wrong in A Prarie Home Companion, she has some talent. But she is also a coked out moron who has ruined her career. Try again.

P.P.S. You complain about not fullfilling storyline requirements yet after all the build up in the first two Spidey movies you wanted Harry to be put in a coma after 10 minutes into the movie and not be brought back until 3 movies/5-7 years later. I'll let that oen speak for itself.

Lohan's an alcoholic and a lez*****
I don’t think that kind of image is good for SM 4

You had me going till I saw the picture of Lohan... While I like Shia (The guy has talent, that's all there is too it. Shia haters need to just admit it).... Lohan is a complete mess... as someone said... despite the mega potential with those looks and the talent from her Mean Girls days... the girl is just isn't worth it... and signing her to a Spiderman franchise will just spoil her even more... good riddance to Lola now that all her movies are flopping... I hope she gets her act together... but by the time she changes the SPiderman franchise will be long over

And while Raimi should get most of the blame (he is the director after all)... Arad did sort of shove Venom in there... it was the producers who were at fault... that's the bottom line...

And do us a favor and don't be telling us how it is and talking like your opinions are the law when you don't have even twenty posts... I like the fiery attitude and you did make a lot of good points... but some of those arguments have no basis whatsoever... I know there won't be any news in a while and you were probably bored and wanted to rant... but seriously... give us all a break

lol He's not come back since you all put him in his place...tehe.

get Lindsay Lohan into detox and clean her up back to her Mean Girls days because I can't imagine a more perfect actress for the part of MJ and if you don't beilieve me then take a look at this.....
this may be the funniest thing i've ever read.

He's made some good points, if in kind of a beligerant way. Raimi is fine either as director or producer. Let him stick to classic characters, though. I could go for new main actors. Shia is better than Maguire; he has way more range. Maguire never looked the part - nowhere near tall, built or hot enough (I'm a girl, by the way) - nor does Dunst. Her boredom with the role bugs me; Maguire at least hides his a little better. They're both getting too old for the roles, anyway. Lohan, if she could clean herself up, might not be the worst choice in the world. ****, can Daniel Radcliffe do an American accent? He has nerd written all over him.

I completley disagree with you and I think your absoloutley wrong and you obviously don't see that the Director, the Cast and Crew are perfect. Sam, Tobey, Kirsten, etc. should defenitley stay. They are great at their roles.

Wrong, nothing is Perfect about these movies.
