That's the funny thing about the music biz. No matter how ugly or plain looking you are, if you're a musician (particularly if you're in a rock band and play the guitar) women will flock to you.

Now the drummers...depends how good the drummer is, but bass players...I have a bass (hardly play and it's broken and I suck at it) and I can hardly hear bass in a lot of songs on cd/radio. Oh yeah, bass players don't get laid. Bass players = not talented enough for guitar.

Wow, seriously? Are you really that dumb? No wonder you suck at bass.

Try looking up the names Cliff Burton and Steve Digiorgio. Those guys can (in Cliff's case, could) shred a bass like 90% of guitarists nowadays could never even dream of. AND they make it sound good.

I never understood (as someone who is not even a musician) why Bass Players get ragged on.

Because the general population thinks they can't hear us. The truth is, they can hear us just fine, but because the human ear isn't "designed" to pick up bass frequencies, bass sounds are a lot harder to locate and understand than higher frequencies are (for example, the ones created by a guitar). Also, a lot of newer bassists (as well as their guitarists) nowadays are talentless and don't do anything worth listening to with their instruments. Many of them just repeat the same set of phrases consisting of repeated notes (look up Fallout Boy for a perfect example of this). On top of that, a lot of bassists nowadays just follow the rhythm guitar, which is another reason people think they can't hear the bass.

Really, if you took the bass guitar out of a song, you'd know it. And it sounds lame. Almost like you're listening to the song through a tunnel.
