Katy Perry Thread: 3rd Times a Charm

Shes looks very hot sometimes and not so much others. She's one of those girls that goes down quite a bit without makeup but i'm okay with that. She's still cute without it IMO, just not nearly as good as she looks with 100 layers caked on.

Most people would be suprised to see how "Blah" many celebrities look without alot of makeup work or airbrushing.

Russel Brand must have a dong the size of her arm though. He's ugly as hell so thats the only explanation.

Most women under 30 have terrible taste in men but come on.

Really? Explain.

Did I say that I was? And even if I were the ugliest woman on the face of the earth, why do you assume that means that I wouldn't be allowed to express my opinions on whether I thought another person was attractive or not?

This is actually quite funny. If I'd said that Lindsay Lohan or Paris Hilton were ugly I doubt I would have gotten such a ridiculous overall reaction.

I'm going off of that based on my experiences, and what I have heard. Anyways I'm going to leave it at that and will stop derailing this thread.

Sorry, but whenever it comes to what is considered an attractive female that is a celeb, you tend to always criticize them so far in certain posts of your's. You could say that I'm sick of unattractive and jealousish women that complain alot about women that are found desirable by guys because of how they look. And I get that type of 'feeling' from you.
Haha. I was waiting for the trite "jealous" comment to come out. I guess you could say that I'm sick of people who call others jealous for not worshiping everyone that the media calls gorgeous/super-talented/insert positive adjective here.

I also find it funny that you feel the need to imply that I'm unattractive. Hey man, whatever floats your boat.

You find Katy Perry hot? That's cool. But I don't. And I have just as much right to say she isn't as you do to say that she is. Deal with it. That's really all there is to it.

I watched Katy Perry's E! True Hollywood Story. The girl definitely paid her dues. She got dropped by two record labels before finding success in 2008. It comes to show that big boobs don't always get the job done. :o

Didn't she try her hand at Christian music before she became mainstream?

According to the E! True Hollywood Story, she was corrupted by Los Angeles. She was raised in a VERY conservative Christian household in Santa Barbara, California. At 14, she went to Nashville to begin a Christian music career. There, she got a record deal and released an album in 2001.

It flopped. At 17, she moved to L.A. to pursue other opportunities. That's when she became a heathen.

the less make-up she wears the prettier she is

If corruption means Perry now gets to sell millions of records, appearing in magazines like Rolling Stone, and become the new sex symbol, I doubt she'd mind it that much.

Obviously, she doesn't mind it. And we're all happy for her. But the Christian community did lose another one.

I'm sure she was like this even while she did her Christian music.

I Honest to God think im in love with this woman, I really do. That said I really enjoy her music too.

Perhaps. But I doubt she acted that way in front of her parents. She was probably the chick who left the house in a conservative outfit and changed into something ****ty at the school restroom. Now, the cat is out of the bag. They have to accept that she's running around half-naked, singing songs about kissing girls, and married to Russell Brand.

I have so much love for this thread :hrt:

But where's the rihanna one?

I am not a Katy Perry fan. I thought a few of her singles from her first album (notably "I Kissed A Girl") were catchy pop, but hated the last three singles from 2010 she had. Add to that her reliance on autotune, her poor live performance skills (from what I've seen on TV) and attempts to start a rivalry with the more talented Lady Gaga have kept me lukewarm.

However, THIS VIDEO IS AWESOME. Does it rip off Gaga's general attempts at weirdness? Sure, but the song is better than "Born this Way" (i.e. Express Yourself) and the video is the best I've seen since Telephone (and I liked Kanye's Monster, even if it was misogynistic).

What is with these epic music videos returning all of a sudden? This thing pulls from films like Ridley Scott's Alien, The Cell, The Fifth Element, Coppola's Dracula, 2001, etc. Plus Kanye's alien sex addition makes it just weirdly fun.

It didn't make me a fan, but it is a fascinating music video.

That's a awesome goddamn video. I saw references from even Powder and that one Charlie Sheen film when the black kids turns out to be alien.

I heard this song on the radio. It's catchy. The music video is something else, though. Very well done.

It's suddenly become the hip thing to do in music to label yourself an "alien" or a "monster." Kind of showing you're not the average person.

Well I'm not complaining about her changing her ways in LA

ET is a great video. Obviously everyone must know Im a huge Gaga fan,but I dont hate Perry, hell, I actually really like her. Im glad this video is getting alot of good reception. Does this song remind anyone else vaguely of Tatu's ' All the things she said''?

Yes! I knew this song sounded familiar. Still like it regardless.

Have to see it was an interesting video and probably her best song.
