Keaton screwed up! A Batman Forever related thread.

BTAS is remembered to an extent. At least in terms of TV cartoons.

I, oddly, was never a big fan of MOTP. I liked ROTJ tons more.

I also enjoyed ROTJ. I was dissapointed things ended on Mystery of the Batwoman. Hopefully Bruce W. Timm's, Superman: Doomsday, JLA: The New Frontier and Teen Titans: Judas Contract pave the way for another good Dini/Timm Batman animated feature.

Timm's not involved with New Frontier or Judas Contract, is he?

They could have compromised. They could have made a film that wasn't as dark as Batman Returns and definitly not as light as Batman Forever.

and that would have sucked

I don't think so.

I think he's rumored to be attached to the rumored animated DKR. Or maybe I just dreamed that.:csad:

Thing is, B&R will probably remain in the memorys of people for a long time, while a fantastic movie like MOTP wont...

Yeah, but there are films greatly superior to MOTP that doesn't even get as much acclaim as that.

Catman, you're assuming he'd WANT to do all this. Maybe being Batman just wasn't the most important thing to him. He was just an actor, I doubt he thought of himself as the custodian of the character who was obligated to guide the franchise in the right direction, and I doubt he was worried that 12 years later fans on the internet would be pining away for further Keaton Batfilms that were never made.
Something like that.

It's so hit & miss for actors, they're lucky to get just one role that they're well remembered for when they're gone, or to be associated with something that stands out in the grand scheme of pop culture the way Batman does. And when they are lucky enough to get such a character, then inevitably there will come a point where they must say goodbye to that character, for whatever reason.
