It depends if they are keeping the Protosevich script (or something similar) or not. If they are, the story is about Thor's banishment and ultimately his redemption.

If they aren't, then who knows

OK. I hate to be a sticker but does that mean we are going to get a powerless Olsen finding the Hammer of Thor? And I wonder how does Protosevich story will relate to the direction the Avengers movie appear to be going.

In the Protosevich draft he is Thor and he knows he is Thor during his banishment. No Olsen/Blake/Some Other Alias.

But yes, he is powerless for a time and has to find his hammer.

Just watched 'The Increible Hulk' again - for the 1st time, I noticed the 'A Valhalla Motion Pictures production' credit at the start of the movie, just after 'A Marvel Studios Production';

How much more fitting would that credit have been for Thor?

Well, I like Jude Law for the part. And he's only 4 years older than Skars, so that's close enough that they could look the same age, imo.

I really really like the idea of Law as Loki

I have the script, I just need to read it. When I'm done I'll post my favorites for the parts, but I am starting to come around to the idea of Skars as Thor, but would be equally happy if not happier with McKidd at the moment.

I love this. Seeing Thor learn the lesson and being broken is so much more compelling then another actor/character being inserted into the movie to learn the lesson for him & take airtime from Thor, who is the one I want to see. t:

Would be good if McKidd was Thor, but he retired from acting earlier in the year.

Uh... So he has a hiatus to film Thor. But McKidd is not in Thor shape. Does he have a hiatus to get in shape. Right now his body is too skinny for Thor.

I think he was talking about Jaquine Phoenix, as Loki, who announced he's retiring from acting earlier this year.

IF mckidd is cast, he will have 3mths to get bigger/in shape before his hiatus.... THOR will be cast by jan/feb at the latest. So if he's our guy for thor, grey's stop shooting around april, thor should start filming around june/july. So that gives mckidd about 5mths before he would have to get on camera as thor...IF he gets it. (more than enough time to get to jackman's size or bigger)

I believe Gerard said it took like 6 hours a day of working out/training. And I know it took him 4 months of working out. Then he worked out while filming. I would like Thor to be bigger than Leonidas (with Leonidas being the min). This is bigger than Jackman. Thor should be an imposing figure. And not only due to a padded suit like in hellboy.

Acting is important but for Thor size does matter. He doesn't have to be body builder perfection. But definitely big.

I agree; let's just hope that Branagh and Marvel Studios think the same.

Hell, I can even envisage a nightmare situation where Branagh convinces MS that size shouldnt be an issue - meaning that we might get an average sized actor cast as Thor.

His ability to shoot awesome, scenic, landscapes (to me) is cause enough for excitement regarding Branagh's involvement (or possible involvement as people associated with films can and do sometimes pull out before the film is really under way). So while I'm confident any battles depicted will likely look and play epic in scope I'm worried about the possibility of the over all first story getting weighed down in over-verbiage and over-the-top acting. But that's mostly a "back of the mind" thing ... I'm hopeful that this won't be the case when the film sees light if Branagh remains at the helm. Exciting news, regardless.

Certainly, this film is pretty much guran-dam-teed to have some beautiful cinematography.

Imagine the long, sweeping shots of snow covered mountainscapes.

Then Thor arrives and reduces them to rubble.
