Without giving anything away, this is an epic film (and trust me: based on the sheer size and scope of the visuals and storytelling, that's not an overstatement). It's the "Godfather II" of comic book films and three times more earnest than "Batman Begins" (and ****, was that an earnest film). Easily the most adult comic book film ever made. Heath Ledger didn't so much give a performance as he disappeared completely into the role; I know I'm not the first to suggest this, but he'll likely get at least an Oscar nod (if not the win) for Best Supporting Actor. ****ing flick's nearly three hours long and only leaves you wanting more (in a great way). I can't imagine anyone being disappointed by it. Nolan and crew have created something close to a masterpiece.

Nothing wrong with that... especially when Burton's talent far surpasses Kevin Smith's.

Anywhoo - I'm glad he liked it... but i take it with a grain of salt, cause knowing Smith he could wake up tomorrow and decide to hate it.

I know he speaks to the truth...and come to think of it...the tone of his EP III review was really about Lucas trying to make noticeable improvements and maybe not that it was all that great...but I recall him comparing it to Empire. But as for TDK...you can tell he's spot on and wants to write even more but is holding back...keeping it short because really theres nothing bad to say.

Somewhere between the "Kevin Smith is a GOD!" and "Kevin Smith sucks ass" is where Kevin Smith really lies.

He is a decent director who doubles as a decent writer who has a unique personality and style that resonates with some. Those that do not share that style, however, would naturally view him as merely mediocre.

I never look down upon a positive review, however.

No hatred at all.

It's not so much a comparison, but when Kevin Smith goes out of his way to attack a really talented director... with his horrible comedy, he goes down a few notches in my book.

And lets not compare their movies... cause well i don't have all night.

No, he's a one-trick director who relies on gross-out humor. Even though I like a few of his movies I don't think he's anything other than overrated.
