Kevin Williamson's 'The Following' - Part 1

Serial Killer Drama From Kevin Williamson Lands At Fox With Put Pilot Commitment
By NELLIE ANDREEVA

EXCLUSIVE: After successfully adapting two young-adult book series for the CW — The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle — Kevin Williamson took out an original drama pitch this season. Now, after interest from multiple networks, that pitch just landed at Fox with a put pilot commitment. The untitled project, from Warner Bros TV and Williamson’s studio-based Outerbanks Entertainment, is described as an edge-of-the-seat thriller about a diabolical serial killer who uses technology to create a cult of serial killers, and the FBI agent who finds himself in the middle of it. Dawson’s Creek creator Williamson, whose writing debut was the 1996 serial killer/horror smash Scream that launched the movie franchise, will write and executive produce the Fox drama project. WME-repped Williamson is co-running Vampire Diaries with Julie Plec after the two developed the vampire drama together. He is shepherding Secret Circle with fellow executive producer Andrew Miller, who penned the original script for the show.
Hopefully since this has been given a put pilot committment, it will end up going to series.

In Williamson I trust.

I hope Luke dies, that's way too much for one person to survive from.

Kevin H.: The Following is so good this season. I need scoop on what's next!
Tonight's episode features a death you will not see coming. At all. And it's possibly one of the series' most devastating deaths yet. Oh, and fans of Ryan and Weston's bromance will not want to miss the episode, as the bond between them is solidified even further.

it better not be Max. if it is, we kind of saw it. :o

I feel like it could be [blackout]Emma. Not so much devastating for the audience, but devastating for Joe. I feel like Mandy will be the one who does it.[/blackout]

It says we won't see it coming. Hard to say that about something teased so heavily in the promos.

The way they handled that kid is the best scene of the show so far

That murder was devastating my ass. There's only two or maybe three people the audience is rooting for on this show

Wow. What a slow burn this episode was. We spent 30 minutes in the cult and nothing really happened. Only in the last 8 minutes did things start picking up

I thought it was interesting that even Joe thought these people were out of their heads.

Seems this season he's seeing more and more insane cults than his

Yeah it was only devastating in the sense that
it made me super sad to Iceman bawling his eyes out. I'm just relieved Max made it out of this alive. I'm still betting that Weston will be the "big death" this season.

Also I thought it was funny that they addressed Ryan being gone from school. I like to imagine that his students were still showing up for class or working on some major term paper.

And how ineffective is it that the FBI chick keeps threatening Ryan with prison. Lady, this man has no ****s to give.

I'm actually hoping Joe kills everybody in this new cult. I mean I don't even want him to leave puppies alive.

Cult Member- Hey, who spiked the kool aid?

Micah- Kool aid?

*all drop dead*

Joe- They were heading down that road anyways

Okay, didn't see that coming. Most devastating? Naw. To Mike sure. To someone watching at home who just met the character for a couple of seconds. Not really.

Well this new cult takes the cake. I mean damn, their leader just had himself a cup of Emma. If Joe's plan is to take this group over. He's already off to a good start by charming Micah's wife.

I sat through the ****ing Walking Dead this week. Last night's episode doesn't even come CLOSE to a slow burn.

The sooner Joe kills Micah and his horrible acting the better. This new cult is hilarious, Lily's was twisted, this lot though are goofy and come off like a parody.

I liked how Ryan and Mike didn't miss about with the loony "Is she a hoooore?" kid, there's a mountain of therapy bills in his future.

Thankfully Max survived, although I was annoyed she didn't kill the guy once she got him down. Poor Mike's dad though, we barely knew thee! :(

I'm still waiting for them to explain how necrophiliac Bieber got shot twice directly in the chest and just got up and kept fighting.

It seemed to me that the twin was wearing a vest, was he not?

Though, I don't really know why mother/other twin wouldn't have known that...

Joe's mentor and his cliche torture basement was meh but I like covert team Ryan now being in full play! :awesome:

Joe is playing Micah like a fiddle and will soon steal his cult and his wife, the latter of which will lead to Lollipop sulking yet again.

Man this season is sooooo much better than the first. Just wow, what a drastic uptick in quality.

Ryan should have let the mentor cut that reporter up. Damn she was annoying. I bet she planted a bug on Ryan when she hugged him.
