Beware the Batman - Part 1

*****ing sad, it is! My god, we had 5 seasons of "the batman", 5seasons of "batman brave and the bold", but only one of beware the batman,which is really really cool.
To boycott WB is something that keep making more and more sense to me. I only keep an eye on their productions briefly now.
There was a time, they were doing so hot stuff!
I remember how suspicious I was when the first promos of Beware the Batman got out, and I finallycompletely bought it. The mood was so unique, so different. And for the first time in a loooong time I thought batman AND bruce Wayne were absolute cool.
Plus : there was now opportunity for superb storylines like the outsiders or developping two-face, or any other cool villains, or Kobra, or just any excuse to use and explore this cool gigantic 3D Gotham City.
Too bad.

The batman was a million times better then this tearable show and maybe even better then the 90's one! They didn't even use batman villains in it really. The show is just about has bad has the new spider man cartoon.

The batman was a million times better then this tearable show and maybe even better then the 90's one! They didn't even use batman villains in it really. The show is just about has bad has the new spider man cartoon.

Except all of the villains save Stagg, Myklos, and Deathstroke are actual Batman villains.

Also, the less I'm reminded of Ultimate Spider-Man still existing and outlasting superior shows (such as this one), the better.

Agreed, and this is from someone who used to defend that show years ago. Beware and Brave and the Bold made me like that show less and less when they succeeded at executing that show's concepts like a young Batman and superhero team-ups.

There were some great ideas here and there, but the mediocre writing killed them. Only things of worth were the fourth season and the Greg Weisman-penned episodes.

Don't forget about the secret Brandon Vietti project.

I have a feeling it'll end up being a new DTV like the one Giancarlo Volpe did.

I actually watched all 5 seasons for the first time over the last few weeks, it got steadily better despite the garish colours and I liked the dynamics with Batman/Alfred/Batgirl/Robin, it felt more like Batman and Gotham to me than the emptiness of this show's world.

The major issue was the way they adapted the villains, Joker as a barefoot Rastafarian, The Penguin fighting like Neo and The Riddler as some sort of emo alt rock band looking weirdo. Mr. Freeze and Firefly were the only two they did well IMO.

I liked Mr. Freeze's design, but making him an unsympathetic thug was weak. A waste of Clancy Brown.

I agree, turning him into a 1 dimensional villain with standard power/greed motives was a waste after giving him the best redesign on the show.

Firefly was great, then they turned him into Phosphorous.

Beware the batman I cant stand and batman the brave and the bold was so boring and to kidy. I love the batman best batman show yet!

I don't know about that the last two seasons of The Batman were pretty good after they toned back Batgirl and brought Robin in as well as Superman and the rest.

I thought season 5 of The Batman was about as bland as it gets. In fact, I'd rather watch season 1 over it.

However, it's not really fair to compare the shows. Who knows where Beware the Batman could have ended up by the 65 episode mark.

I enjoyed B:TB&TB immensely. I enjoyed The Batman for the most part too, although the JL on that show sucked. I couldn't deal w/this show's look. Didn't care much for this show's Alfred or Kitana either. I may try it again if they put it on Netflix.

I love TAS, The batman, TBATB and beware. All of them. TBATB is boring? Really? it has to be the stupidest comment I've ever read about that show.

I love TAS and BBATB, like Beware, and I'm meh on The Batman. Batman: The Animated Series is the perfect representation of the dark Batman and Batman: The Brave and the Bold is the perfect representation of 50's and 60's style Batman. You watch both shows and get a sense of the character's history. Beware The Batman just had this vibe to it I liked whereas The Batman had no idea what type of show it wanted to be. It suffered from being the first post-DCAU Batman show and I also don't care for the look of the show. I do like parts of The Batman though.

Good News/Bad News Batman Fans

Bad news: We JUST (like, hours ago) found out from our legal department that Beware the Batman and Sym-bionic Titan are being “written off,” financially, as of now. Therefore, after this weekend neither of those two shows will be a part of Toonami again, unfortunately. What’s the good news? Welp, because we hate to bone you Bat-fans by simply yanking the show, we’re running ALL of the remaining unaired episodes THIS weekend from 2:30a-6a, for one last Bat-blow out.

Shocking that a Batman show has been written off financially. In fact, no DC cartoon has ever been treated this poorly.

This show deserved better. Oh well, I have the new DVD AND Blu-ray set ordered.
