Kevin Williamson's 'The Following'

I had issues with some of it in the second half of the season, but it's nothing that can't be fixed. Marcos Siega said they're not doing the "Save the Kidnapped Boy" plot again this time around, or the compressed time frame, and they're doing more character building, which is a good start IMO.

For me, the whole premise just got too hard to maintain for them. Joe reached ridiculously omniscient to the point where he made the TDK Joker look like a poor planner. It was laughable after a while, and it really bugged me, especially because the first few episodes were really very good.

You gave up on Revolution when it started getting good. Season 2 is legit.

I may go back eventually but for now I'm trying to keep my weekly shows down a bit. Not even planning on checking out Sleepy Hollow or Dracula. If they end up being good ill binge watch em. I'm just tired of good stuff getting cancelled all the time. Especially after that Hannibal drama back in May-June. I already feel like I am way too attached to Brooklyn Nine Nine as is lol.

Good luck with that, lol. Every time I turn around there is something new I want to watch. :p

Kevin: Counting down the days until The Following returns! What can we expect?
The serial killer thriller is adding to its growing list of baddies as viewers will be introduced to two new villains in season two: a Lady Macbeth type, Julia is a femme fatale who is truly disarming as she can go from free spirit to deadly in the blink of an eye, while Micah is a deadly combination of evil and mentally unstable. Both will cause mayhem for more than a few episodes.

'The Following' Books 'Oz' Star in Dark Role (Exclusive)
10:12 AM PDT 10/28/2013 by Philiana Ng

Lee Tergesen has joined the sophomore season of the serial killer drama.

The Following is getting more mysterious in season two.

Fox's serial killer drama has booked Oz alum Lee Tergesen for the upcoming sophomore season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Booked for a guest-starring role in the seventh episode, Tergesen will portray Kurt Bolen, described as a normal family man whom Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) suspects may harbor a dark secret.

When The Following returns Monday, Jan. 20, expect a major time jump between seasons. "We will jump forward a year with our surviving characters," creator Kevin Williamson said at Comic-Con, adding that the story moves away from the FBI and will be more "character-driven."

Repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment, Tergesen starred as Tobias Beecher on HBO's Oz. Other TV credits include gigs on Longmire, Army Wives, Copper, Red Widow, Generation Kill and The Big C.

Hopefully this next season will be better. I am already looking forward to it. :)

I recently rewatched the 1st season on Netflix. I still enjoyed it.

You're not the only one. I love that show. I will be sad if it's cancelled. Revolution is garbage. Nothing will redeem that Charlie chick. I'll wait to binge watch "The Following". I wouldn't have enjoyed it on a week to week basis, but as weekend watching it's pretty good.

You obviously haven't watched Revolution at all this season. It's VERY MUCH improved from last season, especially Charlie.

And Sleepy Hollow is even better. It's already been renewed for Season 2.

I enjoy Sleepy Hollow, but I couldn't make it through the first season of Revolution because of Charlie.

Besides the hotness of Charlie AND her mom, Aaron is becoming a VERY interesting character in the newest season

I have heard that, but unfortunately I'd have to re-watch the first season to get what's going on in the second season and that's not happening.

Anyway, back on topic, I won't be watching The Following, but I'll catch it on Netflix.

Friggin, I just saw a teaser on FX and Joe has an epic beard that alone will make the show better.

Fox’s The Following continues to add to its ranks for Season 2, this time with the casting of Jacinda Barrett in a recurring role.

TVLine has learned that the Aussie actress, whose TV credits include Suits and Zero Hour, will play Julia, a very disarming and alluring woman whose mysterious intentions send several main characters in a frightening new direction.

The Following‘s previously announced Season 2 castings include Keith Carradine (Dexter) as a friend of Ryan Hardy’s, Jessica Stroup (90210) as Ryan’s NYPD specialist niece, Connie Nielsen (Boss) as a romantic interest for Ryan, Sam Underwood (Dexter) as a dangerous young man/possible follower of Joe Carroll’s and James McDaniel (NYPD Blue) as an FBI agent, while guest stars include Oz’s Lee Tergesen.

The Following kicks off its 15-week, uninterrupted second season on Monday, Jan. 20, at 9/8c, following the season finale of Sleepy Hollow.

I guess this is Fox's new thing. :) Two-night premieres.

Yeah well they keep choosing nights where I already have stuff recording. Whatever happened to thursday when I had nothing else on? Way to make me drop a show....

I stopped watching 7 or 8 episodes in to the 1st season. I thought it got boring and repetitive and the police made really stupid moves all the time. I just have to ask, has it gotten any better? Do I need to start watching it again?

Not really. Joe became completely hammy toward the end and the police remained helluva stupid. They really seemed to catch Joe due to dumb luck more than anything. Then they [blackout]killed off Joe, but seem to be bringing him back which is a huge misstep, IMO.[/blackout]

Never trust a guy who "dies" in a bombing, lol, unless they have all of the relevant parts already reassembled afterwards, :p

Question: What can you tell me about The Following Season 2? –Mike
Ausiello: Ryan Hardy is movin’ on up in the world! Or, at least, in New York City: He’s got a swank Upper West Side apartment (in the skyyyyyyyy), having left his Brooklyn loft and its bad memories behind. “Obviously, after the horror I experienced in that apartment, I felt the need to move,” Kevin Bacon reports, laughing. Specifically, Hardy’s new digs are located at 82nd Street and Broadway, adjacent to Central Park. “It’s a good neighborhood. I run in the park,” Bacon adds. “I’m feeling fine.”

Question: I know Natalie Zea will be on Season 2 of The Following, but please tell me she survived that crazy *****’s attack in the finale! –Erin
Ausiello: (Spoiler Alert: The news is not heartening.) “What happened to Claire is absolutely tragic and horrible,” Bacon said during a set visit. “When you see the first episode of Season 2, you’ll se that Ryan has lost everything that he feels for and cares deeply about. It could not have gone worse.”
