The CW eyes The Vampire Diaries spinoff "The Originals"

The season finale felt like a series finale. I felt like thy wrote it thinking they were not coming back.

They definitely wrote it that way.

However, i'm annoyed that Klaus doesn't get a happy ending. He missed five years of his daughter's life and now he's about to miss a whole lot more if the rumors are true. Ugh. Why couldn't Hayley sacrifice herself? Blah.

Also, why are they acting like technology does not exist? LOL They can all text/face time each other nbd.

Agree. They can all definitely FaceTime each other. If not, at the very least write emails.

The Originals casts Danielle Rose Russell as teenage Hope for season 5
EW can exclusively reveal that 17-year-old Danielle Rose Russell (Wonder) will play a teenage Hope, joining the cast as a series regular for the fifth season.

I would have to assume, considering the age of the new actress playing Hope, the season kicks off with her graduating from the school, and taking into account that Caroline gave birth to the twins a year/year-and-a-half after Hope was born, they would probably still be there too.

Julie's note to the fans...

Sad to see it go, but considering how it just narrowly landed a renewal, I think it's better to take their fate into their own hands rather than just hope the same thing can happen again next May.

Love this.

The Originals: Meet Hope's love interest and Hayley's 'friend with benefits'
EW can exclusively reveal that Torrance Coombs (Reign) will play Declan, who’s described as “a flirtatious, roguish and charming Irish chef, who is unaware of the supernatural underbelly of New Orleans or that the woman he is involved with is part of an infamous family of vampires.”

And then there’s Hope’s potential love interest, Roman. Played by Jedidiah Goodacre (who was Chad Charming in Disney’s Descendants movies), Roman is “a devilish and charming schoolmate of Hope Mikaelson. Roman is a recently turned vampire who becomes curious about Hope’s family after she’s involved in a mysterious incident at school.” (Hey, what’d you expect from a school full of witches?)

The Originals: Jaime Murray Cast in Final Season as Mysterious Vampire — What's Her Connection to Elijah?
After nearly destroying Emma Swan’s family on Once Upon a Time, Jaime Murray is setting her sights on an even more powerful supernatural clan.

Murray will appear in the upcoming final season of The CW’s The Originals (premiere date TBD), TVLine has learned exclusively, playing Antoinette — a beautiful, “old-school” vampire who meets Elijah shortly after he loses his memories. Her flirtatious, free-spirited nature masks dark secrets about her painful past.

Antoinette will be introduced in the third episode of the season, which is directed by star Joseph Morgan.
The actor who played Dorian on TVD also tweeted that he'd be appearing, presumably alongside Caroline.

Yeah, I felt like I got almost nothing worthwhile from that.

Luckily, the showrunner said on Twitter earlier that there would be an extended video tomorrow. So fingers crossed that that one is better.

Tonight, y'all.

Seems like this has been a long time coming, though I'm glad we're here and we get that final send-off - even if the final of the last season seemed enough of one...

This most recent episode was SO GOOD! One of my favorites of the entire series.

Yep. The Elijah episode was really well written. Joseph Morgan directed it really well also.

Yeah that ep was beautiful. It sounds unlikely but I really wouldn’t mind Elijah and Antoinette ending up together in the end. Their chemistry is amazing.
