So how did the little ones feel during/after the movie? Did they scream? Did they scratch their heads? Or did it put a smile on their faces?

maybe i'm underestimating the youth of today but i don't see how an 8 yr old can really grasp what's going on in this film

I really hate kids. At one showing these 3 kids couldn't stay still unless there was an action sequence. The rest of the time they were going in and out of the theater. Did I mention I hate kids?

I don't really care about kids but I was kind of expecting a 'Pans Labyrinth' problem with parents. When that movie came out parents where taking their kids to see it, expecting something like Peter Pan or something, then complaining that it was so violent and demanding their money back. I wanted to slap them! Do some research before you take a kid to a movie! Never mind the R rating...idiots.

We already have a thread about this whole thing, in my experiences though recently while viewing TDK I saw a parent had to take their kid out of the theater after the why so serious part.

Exactly, when I take my nephew, I don't want him to just be entertained or to have a good time......I want him to be able to not only discuss certain plot points, but then write a 4 page essay about how what impact he thinks it will have on today's movie-making......I mean what's the point of going to see a movie if you can't over-analyze every single piece of dialogue with 2nd graders..........
My Nephew: "I really liked it when Batman punched that guy or when the truck flipped over or when the airplane picked up Batman and the other guy or when Batman slammed the Joker on the table"
Me: "Pfft, whatever, I bet you don't even get what the Joker was trying to prove.......and his name is Lau"

Haha. I don't see why kids wouldn't understand what's going on. I also don't see why any child would be frightened.. this is 2008.

In my experience, teenagers are worse. And I don't mean the 16-19 year olds. I'm talking about the snot-nosed, "OMG I'M IN HIGH SCHOOL NOW!!!1" teenagers. They sit in the front rows, hold their phones in the air as they text message, talk casually, and make comments which they hope the rest of the theater will acknowledge through laughter.

I honestly wish they'd have ushers seated inside the theater.

My ten-year old sister loved it.

Though she still likes Hairspray better. :cmad:

I agree 100%. Its the 12-14 yr olds that are extremely annoying.

Those are the kids I bring my handgun with a silencer for! :woot:

Just tell them to gtfo.

Honnestly, I REAAALLY dont care!... This movie is clearly not for kids to begin with!

my little sister only flinched once throughout the entire movie, and it was at the beginning when bruce is doing his own stitches. apparently nothing the joker did or two-face's face was scary to her.

I have no sympathy for the soccer moms who take their kids to a movie about the human condition and breaking what society tells us are rules to live by. Stick to the million CGI based Disney movies. Batman has gotten extremley complex since the Adam West days and the general populace beyond people like us can't except that. Don't worry, if your kids 10 and was scared let them watch it again in a few years and they'll appreciate it for it's real morals. Everyone needs to look past the batman stuff and see the real movie. " It's not about money, or box office revenue, it's about.....sending.... a... message"

Me and my friend relized there was kid's birthday party, about six of his friends came... although, we don't recall seeing them on the way out. Also, somehow they allowed a dog into the theatre, no joke. I was expecting him to take an extra-large bark bath during the course of the film.

Alas, i've found my equal and opposite.

your nephew is my Joker...

Since your sarcasm is dripping enough, I take it that you completely missed the point. Kids being able to understand a movie involves having to avoid this:

KID: DADDY, WHO'S THAT?!
DAD: That's Lau.
KID: WHO'S HE?!
DAD: He's a bad guy.
KID: IS THAT WHY BATMAN IS TRYING TO CATCH HIM?!
DAD: Yes.

I sat through a 'pleasant' conversation like this during Star Wars Episode III. It's the closest to homicide I've ever come in my life.

Yeah, I'm 14 I don't do that either, but yes I have a cousin who is always like "Is He BAD?!?!?", me:"Watch the MOVIE!!!!" and she is 13.

But anyways, the first time I saw the movie, there were all these 16-19 year old girls texting throughout the theater, all these 16-19 jackass guys towards the top screaming comments, and say "YO YO MY MAN" whenever another one of their friends show up. Those guys, I sincerely wanted to turn around shoot all of them.

And half of them didn't even care about Batman, it was just "the cool place " to be.

So I agree that 16-19yo who like Batman are good when seeing this movie but 16-19yo who don't care about Batman are bad to see this with, same with 12-14 year olds, unless they think they are all knowing of Batman, they talk the whole time and point stuff out loud.

So how did the little ones feel during/after the movie? Did they scream? Did they scratch their heads? Or did it put a smile on their faces?
In my 2nd viewing, there was this one kid —6, 7 yr old— who came back with an adult in the middle of the movie —I didn't see when he left, really— and he was rubbing his eyes. Now, that could've been because he felt asleep or, perhaps we was crying.. the little punk, hope they all have nightmares mwahahaha. Uhmm.. is it obvious that I don't like kids..? :whatever:
