The Dark Knight Teaser-trailer audience reaction thread

Great teaser! I went with 20 people to watch The Simpsons and all of us loved the teaser and talked about it long after. I loved the conversation between Bale & Cane and how it gives us a bit of info about how the Joker comes into the story. Then Ledger and his take on the voice of the Joker was awesome, the must see movie of 2008!

"Starting tonight, people will die. I'm a man of my word, ha, ha, haaaaa!"
The Joker!

:wow:. The teaser reaction at my theater was insane. As soon as the teaser started with the WB logo everyone in the theater standed up and started cheering "WOOHOO YEAH ITS THE DARK KNIGHT. WOOHOO!!!". After the teaser finished then the real insanity began. People in the balcony started jumping up and down like gorillas in a zoo during feeding time. I could have sworn the balcony was gonna break down. And this was just the beginning. People then made their out of the cinema taking there clothes off and chanting while in the streets in their massive numbers "THE DARK KNIGHT IS COMMING!!!". The entire police deparment was out that night controlling the citizens and the army was on its way. :eek:

Uh...im the biggest Batman mark out there.....but DAMN...the Iron Man Footage SMOKES US ! ...WB really dosnet know how to get this promo stuff done...the whyso serious game was fun...but a joker picture and an exploding Bat symbal....compared to the Iron Man footage....man....

Yeah, while I think TDK was ahead before, now that the Iron Man footage has leaked, and pretty much every comic book fan is going to see that online...the limelight has definitely been taken away from us at the moment.

There's just NOTHING that can be said about the Iron Man footage that's remotely negative. It was just bad-ass. And I'm not even a fan.

Thats exactly what I told you all the IM teaser is going to kill the hype for TDK in seconds and it did.

Um, the funny part is- Iron Man= May. The Dark Knight= Late July.

Also that is only in the fan corners for Iron Man, general audiences still have no clue- so that's a bad step #1 right there. Only fans know, not general audiences.

Also, there is no way one can compare the two. One comes out later and is saving footage. The other is a comic-con exclusive that was cut exclusively for comic-con and will not be released for the general audience to ever see...

There is no comparison. It's apples and oranges. Both have strong points and both have faults, go to a theater and ask them- every one will say TDK without a doubt.

When will Iron Man release it's teaser trailer for audiences, btw?

- And this isn't meant to sound negative, I just find it ridiculous. I actually see Iron Man as being the next Batman Begins (which is my #1 superhero film)

You didn't pay much attention then, did you? No one ever said it would be playing with all Simpsons copies.

See, that's the problem, you will never know until you paid... I was not really complaining, merely feeling bad for myself.

That was a pretty darn good trailer of Iron Man, I hope they release a better quality HD version.

Anyways I don't think he has stolen any hype away from the TDK. The release dates are too far apart to even matter really..

People are just stoked they have 2 potentailly amazing films to watch.

First of all guys, the IM movie was being shot before, they´re ahead on editing, FX, etc. Second, footage to show in a convention for comics fans and a teaser trailer to show in theaters are completely different things, you´re comparing apples to oranges.

Ask anyone who WAS in the treasure hunt and they will tell you it was an awesome experience. of course Favreau´s gonna laugh at it, he directed another movie for another company...

I agree. I thought that Iron Man was a Batman rip-off, but after seeing the footage, I'm definitely going to have to reconsider seeing that movie.

The Iron Man teaser was amazing, but comparing it to TDK is apples and oranges.

Two entirely different energies going on here.

TDK = dark and mysterious
IM = fast and furious

What'd he say?

something like.. he wanted everyone to dress up as the mandarin and go on a treasure hunt but someone else beat him to it, so instead he would show some footage. :o

i was never an Iron Man fan but im deff going to see this movie.

Exactly- I honestly don't see why that is so hard to understand for some people.

Oh and, I loved the treasure hunt, but I can admit it would sound very odd to someone who didn't participate in it.

No, the real question is- what does Warner Brothers have against DVD commentaries? Lol. No WB film ever has a commentary.

We'll see what they show at Wizard World. Then it'll be more accurate. Though I'm wondering why is it that fans always seem to get footage/pics of Marvel movies at conventions....but we NEVER get anything for DC films.

What. The. F**k. :cmad:

And deservedly so...JF has been hitting this movie on the head with every decision he's made. I certainly have not had one negative comment to say about the entire production process (granted that I don't read spoilers though) and was DYING for the footage to hit online. The guy really cares about this character, and the fans, and it shows. I can't wait for Iron Man to hit, but he's no Dark Knight! :cwink:

I wouldn't know, the theater I went to didn't show it :csad:
