Simon Kinberg speculates on the possibility of 'X4' - "Certainly because of the success of the opening weekend, the studio has to be wondering how they will do an 'X4' when there aren’t a whole lot of movies that open at that number. When we were making the movie, I would say the studio was not only open, but was encouraging of taking out certain characters if that serviced the story," says 'X-Men: The Last Stand' screenwriter Simon Kinberg. "We, as the resident geeks, realized what it meant to 'kill someone in the Marvel Universe.'"

Edit: Sorry if this is old. I just noticed it was from "iF" though it's showing as new at Comics2Film as of an hour ago. :(

if they make an x4 they better focus on

beast
angel
kitty
collossus
Psylocke(she lived and joined x-men)
iceman
Gambit
storm
Nightcrawler(new actor if needed)
jubilee
and rogue getting her powers back

and just focus on them as the new x-men team... and storm and beast will be the teachers

I don't see why Halle Berry wouldn't return to maintain the mansion w/Beast.

I don't think that Simon's intended emotions regarding Phoenix killing Cyclops were really felt, by ANYONE.

I think I speak for most everyone when I say...

I felt it was STUPID not having Cyclops around for the Phoenix Saga.

I didn't feel "OH DAMN! SHE KILLED SCOTT! WHAT WILL SHE DO NEXT!"

I, along with everyone else in the theatre, was rolling my eyes at how they could **** that part of the story up so badly (and "they" could be Fox, or whoever was respnsible for that particular decision)

Everyone in the theatre I was at was enjoying the film and not worrying about Cyclops as if they give a crap. Most of the audience never read an X-Men book in their life, and most of the kids know nothing of the Phonenix saga no matter how inudnated one might be here with that info.

Kinberg wants to do and X4..that doesn't mean he has the power to bring an X4..

^ Fox doesn't have the power to stop it either. Fans and shareholders will prevail on if a sequel is made or not be it before or after the spin-offs...which means we'll see an X-Men film that takes place after X3.

i hope singer comesback

I highly doubt he will. Especially now he knows he can get what he needs to do a Movie at other Studios that FOX refused to give him TWICE. It would have tobe a Cold Day in Hell before Singer does another FOX Movie if you ask me

but you never know, FOX might ask him to come back if it means more money at the box office

Singer is great franchise builder and he starting to rebuild the superman franchise, I don't think he will come back to X-men..he's beyond it

But the question is would Singer want to do it ? After getting ****ed over twice over Budget & Creative Control Singer was able to get what he needed RIGHT AWAY at the WB. If I was Singer I would tell FOX to GO TO HELL. Besides he has much said he wants to stick with Superman

yea...good point....well... then all we can do is hope that fox will change its ways, so that singer will feel better at FOX..

First thing they have to do is fire Tom Rothman

After all the money the studio has made i'm a little surprised there has been no news on X4.I guess they rather push put the final nail in the coffin in terms of Alien/Predator movies first.

Fantastic Four 2 is also getting ready to start shooting

I don't think Bryan will come back, even if asked. Unless perhaps the rights went back to marvel or some other company.

But he's already planning a superman sequel so.........

There has got to be another good director out there who can revamp the series a little by making it fresh but not spitting on the predessesors like this movie did.

Actually, Fox DOES have the power to stop it, since they own the rights and all that good stuff.

Granted, I haven't talked to every single person who has seen the film...

But I haven't talked to one person at all, X-Men fan or not, who thought killing Cyclops was a good idea.

Even my friend who doesn't care for the X-Men at all, came out of the theatre saying "I didn't think I'd care (about Cyclops' death), but it felt really cheap to me for Wolverine to all of a sudden step up and save Jean, just because Cyclops is out of the way now"
