Knight Rider 2008: The Thread

why do people want welling for every tv role? he's good on smallville but thats about it

He's been mentioned for Superman (basically an extension of his Smallville role anyway) and this ....... that's about all I've seen? There's about a hundred other actors who seem to get mentioned repeatedly in casting threads than him

Gaz

They should get Eddie Izzard to do KITT's voice.

Just a thought...

knight rider 2000 was bearable just because of Hasselhof,
they killed off Devon and gave us a red dodge stealth with some prototype bodykit, a stupid car with no lights at the front.

knight rider 2010 had bloody nothing to do with knight rider.

Team Knight Rider was a load of bollocks.

Expect this new series to be a load of bollocks too.

It will probably get cancelled anyway after 1 season like all shows these days.

Glen Larson has been writing a new movie script, and this move by Universal is a just a cheap shot at getting a new series out to spite him.

No wonder Glen Larson is pissed off.

Universal suck hard.

They screwed Knight rider so many times, what makes people think this new crappy attempt is going to be good?

The Knight 4000 was a Pontiac Banshee.

The Banshee was a concept car, the crew producing KR 2000 wanted to use it but GM said no. So like Daywalker2007 said - the production team took a Dodge Stealth and modified it to look similar to the Banshee.

Oh, and enough of this Tom Welling thing... Anyone who watched even a minute of Knight Rider knows Welling is just about the absolute worst possible choice to play a young Michael Knight.

Except for the episodes with K.A.R.R., Goliath and Garth Knight and any time K.I.T.T. got trashed and revamped in the original series the majority of them were pretty lame.

Michael Knight would always go after jewel thieves, evil corporate bosses, crooked circus acts which kind of took away the coolness of K.I.T.T.

I pretty much feel the same way too. I love the episodes with K.A.R.R. best of all (his music's so cool) but an awful lot of the episodes where basically the same cut-and-paste plot.

If Michael wasnt helping out single moms who's husbands have been murdered, it was helping people who are being bullied by a big corporation or something for whatever reason.

TV budget from the eighties, what you´re gonna do? The evil corporate thing was sort of the point of the character, fight those "above the law", and the show also dealt a lot with misuse of technology, which has potential if you put the dough into it.

looks like the new Knight Rider pilot has got its lead actor

Justin Bruening is Knight Rider

Soap star Justin Bruening has been cast as the new Knight Rider, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The ex-All My Children hunk is set as the lead in NBC’s two-hour backdoor pilot Knight Rider, a Transformers-inspired sequel to the 1980s series, which is slated to air as a movie later in the season.
Bruening, 28, will play the son of Michael Knight, the character played by David Hasselhoff in the original series.
Steve Shill is going to direct the Knight Rider pilot. The script was penned by Dave Andron.
The pilot is set to start shooting before the end of the year.

I know there's going to be a lot of hatin' on this decision, but keep in mind: we're talking about David Hasselhoff and Knight Rider. It's not like they're replacing Clint Eastwood in the Dollars movies. Knight Rider was an enjoyable but silly show, so my opinion of this remake hasn't changed.

that pic in the link has me sold :o

I'm not surprised they cast an unknown for this. I hope the Hoff would be involved in this.

BTW, i glad you didn't post that picture. Couldn't that site find a more appropriate picture, you know, with him wearing a shirt.

so the car is going to transform into a robot?

what do they mean a transformers inspired sequel???

Hmm always been a knight rider fan so im lookin forward to this!!

Will this ignore Knight Rider 2000, when did Michael Knight have a kid?

He used to get around I'm sure....he probably had a bastard running around somewhere.

Remember McGuyver ended up with a kid he didn't know about too

Well, The late 90s show Team Knight Rider did play around with the idea of one of the members looking for her father, and having him turn out to be Michael Knight. Then again, I won't blame them if they decide to ingore Team Knight Rider altogether. God, that show sucked.

apparently this series is geared for todays "MTV" reality audiences.
Lots of lesbian sex, nipples and bondage.

On top of that, there is gonna be some hardcore rock and rap music to satisfy the MTV audiences.

And KITT is going to be Gay!

great news or what!

what do they mean a transformers inspired sequel?

Remember that scene where bumblebee just looked at the new 08 camaro as he passed by? well KITT will have similar feature where he can look like any car. It's based on the cars having a similar weight and size.

Fun Fact: Bruening played the son of the character played by the soap actor Michael Knight on "All My Children"

And Knight married David Hasselhoff's ex-wife Catherine Hickland.

Owned by your own television namesake...ouch.
